Jim McNally was in town this weekend for the Glazier Clinic. If you don’t know who he is, is consider like one of the all-time greats in OL Coaches. A Godfather of sorts.

I caught Jim’s talks. All 5 hours. At the end of one of the sessions, I asked if I were to want to go watch guys on an individual level who would you say to watch.

He starts naming guys off by position. When he gets to left tackle he says the Rams left tackle. And we are in St. Louis. So immediately another coach says, I thought he was struggling. Jim’s response was, “yeah, but he’s so damn athletic. I think they’ll get him figured out this year.”

Now Kromer and McNally were one time neighbors and friends. So I don’t know if he was just saying that to be a supportive friend. But, I did find it interesting that such a positive thing could be said about Greg Robinson by one of the best in the game.

What I am saying is that one of the best offensive line coaches of all-time said to watch him. Robinson fits the mold of the new offensive line (tremendously athletic). That’s why some still think he has a chance. He definitely flashed at times. To me, it has a lot to do with footwork, technique, and trusting that technique. An offensive line works as one unit. I don’t think he is confused at all. His technique caused the most of his problems.

Mark Barron was athletic, Jason Smith was athletic. I don’t know how much this guy knows about Greg Robinson but I hope he’s right.
