St. Louis was the weakest of the three football markets looking to move. They will. And Rams Stan Kroenke already owned the land and is paying for the new stadium. The value of the Rams has instantly doubled.

According to Michael Ozanian, the executive editor for Forbes, the franchise is already worth a lot more money, thanks to the move.

“It doubles the value of the team,” Ozanian told the Washington Post this week.
That means the Rams’ value shot up from $1.45 billion to $2.9 billion the minute the NFL made the move official. That also means the Rams are now the third-most valuable team in the NFL, behind only the Cowboys ($4 billion) and Patriots ($3.2 billion).

When Forbes released its annual rankings of most valuable NFL franchises back in September, the Rams were ranked 28th.

“It doubles the value of the team,” Ozanian said.

If they do get close to the $3 billion mark, the Rams would join some of the most prized sports properties in the world. The Dallas Cowboys ($4 billion) are the most valuable franchise, followed by Real Madrid ($3.26 billion), New England Patriots ($3.2 billion), New York Yankees ($3.2 billion) and Barcelona ($3.16 billion). The San Diego Chargers, who may join the Rams in Los Angeles, would appreciate as well, doubling their $1.525 billion valuation from September.
