Joe Buck and rules analyst Russell Yurk called out the refs missing pass interference against the Falcons on a Rams deep ball in the final seconds.
"That's a missed call!"
"That's a pass interference."

Tyler HigbeeThat’s a lot of reinforcements coming back just in time for the playoff run. If the Rams lose this game, which rn it looks like they will, they can still get the 5 seed. The sky is not falling!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Sean McVay’s decision to revamp his special teams pays off. Jared Verse with the blocked kick and return for a touchdownAlbert Breer@AlbertBreer
Matthew Stafford’s throws to Atwell and Nacua on those second and third downs were about as good as it gets. There are so few people that have ever thrown the ball like this guy can.Falcons survive.

ZooeyModeratorI will say that the holding call on that TD was unconvincing to me. You see more flagrant holds than that every single game that go uncalled. It wasn’t a hold. It was a takedown with leverage, and I’m not sure if technically that is a hold nowadays, but like I said, you see worse every single game.
That was PI on the Tutu bomb, too. No question about it.
But I think the call was right on that spectacular Puka catch.

wvParticipantNick Wright, predictably, makes the argument for Stafford as MVP. (btw, that is his son, who does the podcast with Wright)

I’m not saying bad calls cost them the game. Whenever someone blames the calls, I always think that a team should look first at its own missteps and failings. (Like Humphries blowing the block on the Wms 4th down run inside the Atlanta redzone.)
But having said that, I have a very strong suspicion that there is some ref payback for Puka mouthing off about them. Which is one of the many reasons mature veteran players never do that.

wvParticipantCowherd in his Herd Hierarchy vid said if the Rams play the Eagles, the Eagles strategy should be to “throw to AJ Brown 15 times, because the Rams cant match up at all.”

Yeah, I know. A bad call is not much different to me than a 2-pt. attempt that gets batted down, and rolls forward into the end zone to be accidentally converted by a random guy who happens to pick up the ball when the ball might just as easily rolled backwards or to the feet of a guy on defense.
As for partial refereeing, anybody with a basic understanding of human psychology would not publicly belittle people who have the power to take revenge with impunity. As to whether that is happening or not, I have no knowledge, but if I were a referee who was offended, I would rule any close Puka catch incomplete, knowing in video review, the ref gets the benefit of doubt. And I might call him for offensive PI any time he stuck a hand on someone. But I wouldn’t call penalties to spite the entire Rams team. But… you know… I also wouldn’t waterboard anybody, but there are humans who do.

Are you saying the refs are gonna waterboard Puka? Because I think enhanced-interrogation should only be used on players whose endzone celebrations are clearly unpatriotic, or possibly unamerican.
