Rams GM Les Snead says, of contract talks (Kupp/Ramsey/Johnson), that he won’t go into details or “confidence level” of something may getting done w Jalen before the season. Says relationships and talks have been healthy and alluded to unknowns w the future cap being a variable.Asked Snead about a possibility of an Aaron Donald restructure (the natural path to freeing up some space, for, say, Jalen) and he smiled and said that falls under the intimacy of contract details that he doesn’t get into publicly.

It’s pretty wild to think Jared Goff essentially is going on his fifth position coach in five seasons (Weinke, Olson, Taylor, Waldron, O’Connell).Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
Jared Goff – usually pretty even-voiced when speaking with media – gets audibly excited talking about Kevin O’Connell and how great it was to finally get on the field with him for light walkthrough work/meet in person.Sarina@sarina
Jared Goff on getting on the field and continuing to build a relationship with new OC Kevin O’Connell, “I couldn’t be more excited… every day he makes my job a little easier.”Stu Jackson@StuJRams
Asked about specific areas he worked on this offseason, Rams QB Jared Goff mentioned his footwork as well as his posture in the pocket.Andrew Siciliano@AndrewSiciliano
“I may have put on a couple pounds. I don’t know if that’s muscle or cheeburgers. I’m not sure.”– Jared Goff
Stu Jackson@StuJRams
Jared Goff said it was exciting seeing his Rams teammates at the facility today, letting go of built-up energy.“Saw a lot of guys out there in our walkthrough that were going a little bit faster than walkthrough tempo and understandably so. It was fun and it was a good day.”
Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
Jared Goff, on Rams making decisions to avoid COVID situation that some MLB teams are dealing with now: “We are not only affecting each other…we are affecting each others’ families.”Indicated he, team leaders wanted to be filmed/seen in a mask to show others how it’s done.
Stu Jackson@StuJRams
Rams QB Jared Goff said he doesn’t put much stock into the #NFLTop100 list.“If I’m never in the NFL Top 100 and can win a Super Bowl, I couldn’t care less.”
Sarina@sarina
Jared Goff on Robert Woods, “He’s a friendly target. It’s easy to throw to him.” He mentioned how lots of wide receivers are different when it comes to maybe being too fast or small, but with Woods… “It’s a quarterbacks dream.”August 3, 2020 at 11:04 pm #118844JackPMillerParticipantHopefully Snead is working on a contract with Reynolds as well.

I doubt it, Jack. They can only pay so many guys. At most 2 or 3. I wouldn’t think Reynolds would be on that list (and ahead of him are Ramsey, Kupp, and Johnson…if they keep Johnson).

“He’s been great. He’s been really good. We’ve, obviously, pretty much all communicated through Zoom up until today,” Goff said via quotes distributed by the team. “Just getting a feel of his demeanor, the way he talks, the way he communicates. He’s played the position. He understands the little intricacies that go along with playing it and I’m super excited. I couldn’t be more excited. I mean, I was excited when they hired him. I’ve always heard his name. I know a lot of people that have played for him, a lot of people that know him. When we hired him it was exciting, and it’s been exciting today that you kind of get to communicate with him and everyday it makes my job a lot easier.”
August 4, 2020 at 12:43 am #118847znModeratorBucky Brooks, from https://www.nfl.com/news/pats-contenders-despite-attrition-jamal-adams-perfect-for-seahawks
Studying New England’s suffocating defensive effort from 2019, I was amazed by the simplicity of the team’s scheme. The Pats are a man-to-man team with a weekly game plan that prominently features man-free coverage (Cover 1). Although Belichick will utilize a few different versions of the coverage, the scheme is essentially a four-man rush with five defenders in man coverage aided by a low-hole defender and a post safety. The low-hole defender could be a linebacker or safety, based on ideal matches, but the premise of the coverage remains the same: The Patriots take away the middle of the field and force opponents to throw the ball outside of the numbers. Those low-percentage throws make it hard for quarterbacks to string together completions, routinely putting the offense behind the chains in key moments. In addition, the sticky coverage eliminates the layups (quick slants, bubble screens and stick routes) that are available in zone and makes opponents earn their yards on every pass attempt.
When I’ve asked opposing coaches how the Patriots are able to succeed with such a simple coverage scheme, I’ve had multiple defensive coordinators tell me their attention to detail, discipline and mastery through repetition enable them to win without tricking opponents. The Pats have seen every conceivable tactic from offensive coordinators, and their preparation against the gimmicks gives them a decided advantage on game day. Basically, they know how the offense will attack them by reducing the number of coverages that they employ, and that makes each game come down to simple execution.

Rams COO Kevin Demoff tells @dot LA panel that the team has plans for @SoFiStadium to open this fall without fans, with 15,000 fans, at 50 percent capacity and 100 percent capacity. “I think you have to be somewhat flexible, as we sit right now.”Said 15,000 is most likely scenario.

Jalen Ramsey doesn’t want to talk about his contract, nor does he even want to hear about negotiations from his agent.Jalen Ramsey@jalenramsey
Lol I love the Rams PR & media that cover the team. They pushed me today for an answer about my contract. The only answer I geniuly have is that I DONT KNOW!! I can say that I have the best agent in the game tho @DavidMulugheta & I can also say that God’s timing is the best!Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
Couple points here.
– Ramsey was frustrated to get contract Qs, explains its because he asked his agent to keep him in the dark re. negotiations until done. He isn’t worried & only wants one phone call.
– He says Rams, Mulugheta have a longtime understanding about the contract.McVay and Snead also declined to get into discussions, with McVay only sharing that there are no updates yet. However, esp. if understanding between team/agent is already in place, big deals can come together in a matter of days.
Joe Curley@vcsjoecurley
Ramsey then walked off the Zoom call after being pushed on the subject.Ramsey is back on the Zoom. He underscores how little he’s involved in his contract negotiations with the Rams. “It’s going to be a surprise to me like it’s going to be a surprise for ya’ll… I’m worried about football.”
Stu Jackson@StuJRams
Jalen Ramsey on DC Brandon Staley’s teaching style:“I would say he’s intense, but I think he’s a good leader. By that I mean, you can’t treat everybody the same, so I think he knows how to talk to different people. I know he knows how to treat different people differently.”

As if we weren’t already pretty certain the Rams are going to extend Jalen Ramsey long-term, check the marketing – Ramsey is hosting the team’s “virtual tailgate” alongside two other team pillars in Aaron Donald and Jared Goff.Aaron Donald says players have been having a lot of conversations internally about not exposing themselves to high-risk or group situations when they leave the facility every day. Says they know there will always be risk in a contact sport but job outside has to be staying safe.

https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-ranking-top-25-offensive-tackles-2020-nfl-season16. ANDREW WHITWORTH, LOS ANGELES RAMS
Just like (Orlando) Brown, Whitworth has been among the best tackles PFF has seen, and the 38-year-old is still performing at an exceptional level in pass-protection. His 84.7 pass-block grade was the seventh-best at the position, making it 11 straight years in which he has produced a top 10 pass-block grade (every year since he moved to full-time tackle with the Bengals in 2009). While he did have his lowest run-block grade of his career, he still made minimal mistakes in that facet, as he was 18th at the position in negatively graded run block rate.

Robert Woods and the Rams have had preliminary talks about new contract, though Woods is fine with his current dealJourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
Robert Woods says so far he feels good about his upcoming contract situation. Says he looks good, he feels good after his workouts this spring.Woods says he is “ready to get paid” and of course he wants it to be by the Rams.
Sarina@sarina
“Van Jefferson is going to be a big impact in our receiver group.”- Robert WoodsDuring the off-season, Robert Woods has not made excuses to stay in football shape. He said he found some hills in the neighborhood and jumped around to different open high school football fields to train.
Woods says there are a lot of safety precautions at the practice facility including pre-ordering meals the night before and getting up to three temperature checks even before they get on the field.
Lindsey Thiry@LindseyThiry
Rams WR Robert Woods says after they get through the abnormal nature of COVID-19 safety protocols in the building, that workouts and walk throughs on the practice field have felt similar to past seasons. “Once we’re going it’s actually normal,” Woods said. “We’re huddling up, only one person talking, that’s our quarterback Jared. We’re full go on the field and normal just like always for a walk-thru.”Michael Silver@MikeSilver
While the Seahawks appear to have moved on from Jadeveon Clowney, who wants more than they’re willing to pay, the team has interest in two veteran free agent pass rushers: LB Clay Matthews and DE Everson Griffen. A deal could happen soon.Stu Jackson@StuJRams
Rams WR Robert Woods said the offseason throwing sessions with QB Jared Goff, other skill position players earlier this summer were “very big” because they felt like player-ran practices. Goff and Woods both said they’ve been able to do 7-on-7 work with some teammates while adhering to local public health guidelines.“Everybody was able to get some good quality work. It felt like a good OTA practice.”
For context, this was their way of trying to make up for the loss on-field work this spring due to a pandemic-prompted virtual offseason program.

I’m looking at Robert Woods being traded at the end of the season. It is not going to be a deep draft at WR. We could get a late first round pick for him, meaning if lucky, one of the top CBs could drop to us.
