ZooeyModeratorFlight attendant: Is there a doctor on board?!
Victor Frankenstein: (raises hand) I actually dropped out of university. It's a really interesting story if you have a minute

ZooeyModeratorSkip Bayless@RealSkipBayless
I just have a feeling about Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
Stop the presses {yawn}.
Skip Bayless hates the Rams more than he hates the Commanders. That’s unnatural for a Cowboys fan. There has to be an Inciting Incident, and I’d like to know what it is.
ZooeyModeratorJust great. Stafford just got another year older right before the Super Bowl.
Happy birthday, Matthew Stafford!! 🥳 pic.twitter.com/WulRyBJkok

ZooeyModeratorTrue.
They’re good.
But every team the Rams have beaten have been battle-tested. ‘Cept maybe the Cardinals.
In every other unit, neither team has a decisive advantage. You could say the Rams are better here and there, but it’s within a reasonable margin of error on a given day.
The Rams ARE better at the LOS. And with everything on the line, I just expect that that advantage will be the difference in the game.

ZooeyModeratorDuring the regular season, the Bengals lost 5 games to teams that did not make the playoffs: Bears (6-11), Jets (4-13), Chargers(9-8), and the Browns (8-9) twice.
The Rams lost only to playoff teams. Zero losses to non-playoff teams. The Rams lost to Cards(11-6), Titans(12-5), SF (10-7)twice, and GB (13-4).
The Rams are better in the trenches. The Rams OL>Bengals DL. The Rams DL>Bengals OL.
As good as Joe Burrow may be, he is going to have to produce under more difficult circumstances than Matt Stafford will face.
That’s the ballgame, imo.

ZooeyModeratorKeyshawn Johnson just said he thinks OBJ stays with the Rams for the rest of his career because “he feels like he’s in heaven & he’s not fittin to go back to hell.” He says he talked with OBJ a couple days ago, but doesn’t claim OBJ told him this. Just the impression he got.

ZooeyModeratorBengals 27
Rams 24
In overtime.
At this point, you just enjoy being wrong about the Rams, don’t you?
I am going for the Immaculate Bracket. Rams win.
I also believe the Rams have a talent edge. And as for intangibles, I think the Rams have a look of determination in their eye that I don’t remember ever seeing in them before. And I mean ever. I don’t think the Moment is going to be too big for the Rams. I think it might be for the Bengals. And, if not, I still like the Rams’ talent edge.
I think the Bengals are the 2018 Rams. A really good, promising young team on the rise. But in the Big Show, they’re going to find their vehicle gets stuck in the mud.
Rams 31
Bengals 17
Though it feels closer than that.
That’s from my official haruspicy.
ZooeyModeratorThat Miller scenario looks like fantasy to me. I cannot think of a single instance, in any sport, of a player being traded at the end of his deal, only to rejoin his former team as a FA.
I don’t think that has ever happened, and there is good reason for Denver to not want to do that. To say nothing of the fact that it hinges on a deal for Aaron Rodgers that has not even been made.
ZooeyModeratorMy own wild-speculation would be this — Whitworth is gonna retire, but what if…he turns out to be a Weddle?   Just come back for the playoffs.   It would save him all that wear and tear, and yet, he could probly still play at a high level……  w v
So you are saying you hope that the Rams’ LOT gets injured in the last game of the regular season.
And Whitworth, who will have kept in shape playing pickup basketball, will just come out of retirement and join the OL. That’s your plan?

ZooeyModeratorI am starting to think that Las Vegas and the NFL are not a great mix.
ZooeyModeratorI don’t know the first thing about the cap. They may be in cap hell, but I tend to think that if they were, we would know it. That would have been prominent in the story line. “Rams rolling it all on this year…cuz doomsday is March 1.” Or whatever. Seems like that would be common knowledge.
I would keep OBJ over Miller, too, but hope they can keep both.
Trading Van gets them nothing. He’s not a cap issue at the moment, I wouldn’t think.
ZooeyModeratorI read somewhere that the Rams have $39 million in dead money coming off the books next year for Goff, Gurley, & 3 other guys. I don’t remember who.
So OBJ and Miller can probably fit – if that’s what everybody actually wants to do.
ZooeyModeratorJourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue In terms of this week’s injury report, Sean McVay says guys like Cam Akers, Andrew Whitworth, Jalen Ramsey, Van Jefferson are essentially just taking extra rest days and that’s why they were listed. Previously this week, he said the only injury he is worried about
Tyler Higbee, I’m guessing.

ZooeyModeratorThe Nick Scott pulverization of Deebo will go down as one of the greatest Ram-hits of all time. No exaggeration. Right up there with the hit on Jeff George. w v
I have seen enough of Scott to know that I have found my replacement for Rapp.
I wouldn’t even keep Rapp for depth, actually. Draft somebody, or get an UDFA.
ZooeyModeratorGood one.
I hate that Robert Woods is not out there.
ZooeyModeratorThis is a good one.
ZooeyModeratorYou guys may have seen this article before, but I just stumbled upon it. A few of the things I knew, but I was surprised at “Crazy Stat 2.” The 49ers didn’t gain a single yard in the final 12 minutes.
Anybody know when Donald circled up the defense?

ZooeyModeratorWhy people gotta be like that?
It’s a game.
ZooeyModeratorI’m putting this here because Nittany is too lazy to do it himself.

ZooeyModeratorA thought experiment: Imagine if every day for the last 25 years every newspaper and tv station had urgent “breaking news” stories and graphics about the *thousands of deaths the night before* from air/water pollution, climate change, or poverty?
— Alec Karakatsanis (@equalityAlec) November 26, 2021
ZooeyModeratorYeah, I think that guy has it right.
ZooeyModerator
ZooeyModeratorHe refused to do what the owner wanted him to do: 1) Tank the Dolphins for a higher draft pick, and 2) meet illegally with Tom Brady to encourage him to go to Miami rather than Tampa.
Billionaires want to be obeyed. That’s why he was fired.
And no matter what the NFL does regarding the hiring process, owners are going to hire whomever they want anyway. They can’t do anything except put up window-dressing, and encourage minority hires. They can’t force these decisions on the owners.
ZooeyModeratorSo…Washington’s team colors are red and yellow, and they’ve just changed their name to a word that neatly gets short-handed into “Commies.”
Bold choice.
ZooeyModeratorThey find guys late and develop talent so well. McVay has got to be the best developer of players (and coaches) in the NFL.*
*except QBs
ZooeyModeratorHow did the Bengals beat TN when Burrow was sacked 9 times? I didn’t see that game.
ZooeyModeratorI misinterpreted that post title at first.
RIP.
He is unforgettable to old-time Rams fans.
