Puka Nacua continued his fantastic rookie season with 8 catches for 154 receiving yards in that game, and he’ll continue to be a difference-maker even with Cooper Kupp healthy.
I’m leaning toward the underdog Rams to keep this one close and cover the spread in this game. Los Angeles has been in every game they have played this season, even against top-flight competition. This one should be close, and that makes the Rams a solid pick while getting points.”

As you will recall, the rams have had losing seasons the previous 9 F’ing times.
Painful lessons on offense, defense and special teams yesterday. Rams and Steelers and about ten other teams look to be about even. Lots of close games coming in this here NFL. Its gonna be a wild winter. Wouldnt surprise me if a dozen teams were vying for final Wildcard berths in the last week.

Evans is a natural runner with three-down starting potential for the NFL. The first trait that jumps out about Evans is his speed. He is a fast back with an explosive first-step and a burst to the second level. He can run past defenders, making him a threat to take any carry or reception down the field for a huge gain. In the NFL, Evans will be a threat to break off long runs thanks to possessing rare quickness for a starting back.

On top of being fast, Evans is an instinctive runner. He displays impressive vision, body lean, and patience, plus he runs behind his pads. Evans sets up blocks and uses his speed to dart through holes before they close. Defenders really struggle to get a hold of Evans, who has great feet that make him very elusive. He is sudden with his ability to cut and change direction. Assisted by that direction-changing talent, Evans can create for himself and help his line when blocking assignments are missed.While Evans is not a big back, he does have some strength to his build and is able to break tackles while picking up yards after contact. He is not overpowering for the next level, but he will be able to shed tackles and get additional yards. Evans goes through defenders while falling forward to finish runs well also.
Evans is suited for the passing-driven NFL because he is a capable receiving back. Evans runs good routes out of the backfield and has soft hands. All college backs need to be coached up and groomed for blitz protection in the pros, and Evans will have that learning curve as well.
Evans has the physical talent to be a starter in the NFL, but his size and durability could restrict his availability. It would not be surprising if Evans is injury-prone and frustrates his team by going in and out of the lineup. In the 2023 NFL Draft, Evans has the potential to be a second-day pick.
Player Comparison: D’Andre Swift. Evans’ speed, receiving ability, and running style compare well with Swift’s. Both are big-play threats who are capable of being dangerous playmakers. They also have a tendency to get dinged up and miss time to the point of frustration.

The guy (dunno who it is) compares the white Tom Brady to the black Barry Sanders. He argues the owners designed the new NFL to protect and highlight skill sets that Brady has. Not skill sets Barry Sanders had. The guy then argues Barry Sanders was the by far the more talented player, but the owners wanted the game to look different. It raises the question of who should have decided what the NFL should look like.

wvParticipantwvParticipantwvParticipanti worry less about stafford, but i think donald has about two years left past this season. there’s not many defensive linemen if any who can produce at a high level past 34 years old. 2025 will be his age 34 season.
Yeah, I thought he would tail off a bit this year, but I’m not sure he has. He’s been explosive as Deacon and as rock-solid consistent as Merlin. Best Defensive player of the decade.
My wild speculation is, he plays two more years and then rides off into the sunset.

wvParticipanti still would plan on strengthening the oline and finding another running back if i were the rams. they don’t need to spend major capital on that second rb. whether that is evans or some lower round draft pick i don’t know. i don’t know that williams can hold up over the course of an entire season by himself. but williams in tandem with another reliable solid running back would be super fun to watch. especially with kupp, nacua, atwell, and higbee catching passes. at oline i would spend major draft capital on finding a left tackle. if they can find a left tackle and a second running back to pair with williams, i think the rams could have that dominant running game.
Well, I dunno what they will need next year, but i know they are not as good as Philly or San Francisco. So, they need to look at those two teams at least and figure out what they need to have to beat them.
Stafford and Donald are not getting any younger. I dont know how long the Rams window will be open after next year. Might be another ‘All In’ year. I dunno.
Is there another OBJ out there? Another Von Miller? Jalen Ramsey? 🙂

I know we arent gonna be ultra-conscious of the record this year, seein-as-how we all know the Rams aint gonna go on a playoff run, but…this is a huge game as far as the general grade for this season. The difference between 3-3 and 2-4 at this stage is big.
Plus, this is the kind of game Jeff Fisher would lose.

wvParticipantWell, he was not in the Rams plans for next year. So, he was only gonna be around for the rest of this year, and basically he had dropped to the No.5 Target, after Kupp, Puka, Atwell and Higby.
Good luck to Van, but I was not a fan.
