wvParticipantDeeds not words. As George (GOT) Martin says, words are wind.
If Carlson could point to actual anti-corporate actions by Trump and the GOP, he could at least begin to make an argument that the GOP is the antidote. But he can’t. They slashed corporate taxes from 35% to 21%; radically deregulated business even more than it was already deregulated; and sped up privatization — including public lands for fossil fuel companies. They’ve been a thousand fold better for corporate America than the Dems, and the Dems have been berry berry good to them.
Any leftist pissed off at the Dems’ neoliberalism should be absolutely furious at the GOP’s version. It’s soft neoliberalism versus high test. Hell, the GOP recently blocked a Dem bill trying to prevent price gouging by Big Pharma in the wake of the coronavirus. The list is endless when it comes to GOP support for the worst of the worst corporate America practices. Yeah, the Dems are complicit, and they suck, but the GOP is outright aggressively proactive on their behalf.
Aspirational versus reality: We live in a binary political world, tragically. There is no aspect of American life in which the GOP is the better choice. None. No how. No way. Carlson’s gaslighting is all too obvious.

Well I agree with every word you said about Tucker, BT.
But thats all just a ‘given’ to me. The reason i posted it was to give a clue about how Fox will cover Biden. Looks like they will hit on “establishment tool” and “dottering old senile puppet” and “Obama, Obama, Obama”.

wvParticipantAfter Tuesday, I don’t know how you can say that Bernie doesn’t have a problem with black voters.
Southern and older. That was true of Biden before the election. Same data shows younger black voters support him.
And you list only southern states.
=====================
Yeah its more nuanced than the MSM’s version.
But Many African-Americans are apparently voting for Biden because of the connection with Obama. I dont think there’s much Bernie can do about that. I see all kinds of leftists advising him to ‘change his message’ somehow to fight Biden or attract Black voters — but I dunno what else he can do. Biden just has the Obama-Advantage, in the primaries, with Older and Southern Black-Voters.
We KNOW those same voters would vote for Bernie if it was Trump vs Bernie.

wvParticipantThe view from Fox – “are the Democrats really gonna do this”
wvParticipantYes, Nathan. And now…this is how wv-stoneheart feels:
wvParticipant
wvParticipantAfrican-American vote seems to be hammering Sanders. Biden linked to Obama. Ah well.
wvParticipantGo ahead-vote green if you must- make a statement.
——————
I intend to vote my conscience. Go ahead and do the same.
And yes, its a black black black day for the Biosphere, the Polar Bears, Poor People in America, and Poor People who will be bombed by Biden/Trump.
w
v
wvParticipantOh, and watch how the MSM will turn into an absolute LOVEFEST for Bernie and Progressives, if it becomes obvious Biden will be the Nominee. Those lowlife-weasels will fall all over themselves trying to ingratiate themselves to progressives. First they smear the left, and then they love the left. Ya know.
All one big family, Unite against Trump, etc, etc — Gag me.w
v
wvParticipantBlack, black, black Wednesday. Black day for poor people. Black day for Polar Bears. Black day for poor and sick people, with no health care. Black day for people who care about Peace and Justice.
Well, i wouldnt vote for Biden if you put a gun to my head. I’ll be voting Green again. Yall, do what feels right to you. I will never do the ‘lesser evil’ thing again. Too late in the game for me to do that. Just wouldnt feel right, voting for a Biosphere-Killer. Its all symbolic at this point, but I dont want my name on a ballot voting for a Killer.
And thankyou California. How did THEY not get all dummed-down? How did ‘that’ happen?
Oh, and Fuck the South.
Carry on,

wvParticipantNice summary by Krystal.

Did you ever once, denounce what the DNC did to Bernie in 2016? The cheating?
I’m just curious. They have a history of cheating. You know that, right?w

wvParticipantRegardless if you believe Bernie is anti-science, associating himself with Williamson is a major blunder, IMO. This is disappointing.
======================
Oh, i disagree totally. I think that would be like distancing himself from Rogan just because Rogan has some batshit crazy ideas.
Too much purism can really whittle down yer allies to zero.
I want her new-age voting bloc.
Williamson is a LOT of things. Some of them Good. Shes not ‘just-and-only’ an anti-vaxer. I think its a mistake to ‘reduce’ her to only that. All in all, I think she’s a more positive force than, say, 95 percent of Congress.

wvParticipantyes, Tejas is the pivotal state of Super Tuesday….. btw The Rams are 3-2 in playoff games vs the Cowboys in Dallas……..
fucking Amy K and Mayor Pete are full of shit…..
==========================
Yeah, they are corporate dirtbags for sure, but ya know…I’m fine with their decisions to drop out. I just think Bernie has to stand or fall against one-centrist-candidate. Ya know. Either he has the support of Dem-Voters or he doesnt.
There’s nothing ‘unfair’ about all these centrist candidates uniting behind one of their own.Now we actually get to see what Bernie’s support really is. Is he a mirage or not? A paper-tiger, only formidable against a bunch of centrists who split their votes?
I want to see what his real support turns out to be.
I am not optimistic. All the old polls are shit now. We dunno what will happen.
Can a fucking progressive actually win over the electorate? It hasnt happened since McGovern. Can it happen now? We shall see.
Progressives cant whine about this. This is centrist-hardball, but its not unfair.
Bring it on. Lets see.

At Dallas.I know i shouldnt get my hopes up. I mean this is the Amerikan public we are counting on. The amerikan fucking public.
I’d sooner count on an electorate made up of Orcs and Zombies.

wvParticipanti talked to a middle-aged, Pennsylvanian, white female nurse today. She voted for Trump last time.
Said she was voting for Bernie this time.
I asked her why. She said Trump has said some callous and insensitive things relating to the coronavirus. It bothered her. Plus she liked the idea of free college. Said she could never afford to send her young son to college.Ok…so thats…one.

wvParticipantBiden’s Super Tuesday strategy…did not include spending much money or campaigning in person over the last month.

wvParticipantCorporatist-Dems might prefer Trump to Bernie.
Would some Progressives prefer Trump to a Corporate-Dem who was nominated by “super-delegates” ? Maybe.

wvParticipantIsnt South Carolina a Southern Red State? Or not? I have no idea.
I’m just not that interested in the solid-red southern states. I’m interested in the Big States and the swing states.

But they do sound extreme to Trump supporters. Believe me-I talk to them every day ! It just seems so very simple to me: this is a contest. The idea of a contest is to win. Sanders will not win Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania-game over.==========================
Waterfield thats just silly. You dont talk to ALLLL the Trump supporters in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. You dont even talk to one percent of them.
You….dont….know how those States are going to go. No-one does. Its going to be close.
Bernie could win, if the same voters who voted for Obama, vote for Bernie. And thats just ‘one’ path.
w
v
wvParticipant<
And by doing so you are actually equating any democrat except Sanders to Trump ! That’s just being silly. (“if you can’t play by my rules I’m taking the ball and going home”). You simply do not see how dangerous Trump is and will continue to be when it comes to the protection of the environment, the plight of the less fortunate, the health and safety of minorities and disabled, the continued destruction of our judicial system, the widening of the economic inequality, etc. You simply do not appear to care about these things.========================
Well, thats not exactly true, but there’s enough truth to it, that i wont argue with your characterization.
I would phrase it like this — Trump is driving us all off a cliff at 90 miles per hour. A corporate-centrist, like Obama/Clinton/Kerry would drive us off the cliff at 75 miles per hour. Is there a difference? Yeah. 15 miles per hour.
Would that difference matter in the long run — Not when we go over the cliff. So, yeah, i liken the Corporate-Dems to the Corporate-Reps. Trump is a Corporate-Rep. Remember the Corporate-Reps are all right there with him. Its not like any of them are fighting his agenda.
You say i dont see the danger in Trump. I say, you dont see the danger in the Corpse-dems. Ah well. Nothing personal here, for me. Just a political difference. I used to take this shit personally, but i just dont anymore. I’m resigned to the apocalypse.
w
v
wvParticipant“… Two hats, perhaps. Or more. Aspirational versus realistic, etc. …”
==============Exactly. And there’s a lot of conversation-paths that could branch off from that notion.
What counts as ‘realistic’ and what counts as actual ‘reform’ etc? Hillary? Biden?
Etc, etc.And then you have the always-present problem on the left of the “purists” vs “reformers”. Left Politics is a long long long dynamic of fracturing and fracturing and fracturing from within. I mean, have you ever read some of the history of the American socialist movement around the time of the Russian Revolution — It was comical. I bet They couldnt agree on what kind of bullets to use to shoot robber-barons….
