Even if you drop ballots off in person — you still have to RECEIVE the ballots by mail, right?

Well i suspect there are a significant number of conservatives out there in the heartlands. Not a ‘lot’ but I’m guessing maybe five percent of the Reps. Somethin like that. Enough to swing a close election.

Could be. But I am not sure it’s a close election. Right now it looks like a pending shift back to glory and splendor of a world run by right-centrist mainstream dems.

    =============

Yes, i agree it would not be close, if the election were at the ‘usual level’ of unfairness. But this one looks like it will be even more rigged than usual. So, given that, i think it will be close.

In terms of conservatives being up in arms, near as I can tell, they are in complete bot-governed partisan mode. So to them–there really is voter fraud and the post office really is losing money, so Trump’s actions are just the right thing to do, silly liberal conspiracy theories aside. There may be no such thing as “conservatives” anymore…just right-wing partisans who live in the right-wing media bubble and echo it.

I would say that we are in a brand new, fresh level of Hell.

They are saying and doing things out loud now. The stuff that we always accused them of doing, and that the conservatives told us was our feverish conspiracy wacko ideas. They are now saying and doing things in broad daylight, and the conservatives are STILL telling us that they aren’t.

So The City on the Hill, is now Gotham City?

    Do we need Batman,

I will be hand-delivering mine to the County Clerk this year. In California, we are allowed to drop them off at a precinct on election day, but I don’t see that provision in WV. Not really an issue for you, though.

Are we agreed, this mail thing is a NEW level of domestic Republican nefariousness?

I mean….just…how…ignorant can the electorate be. This evil evil plan can only work if the american electorate has reached abysmal lows. Every conservative in america should be up in arms about this.

This is the biggest threat to our fake-democracy, since I’ve been voting.

    Its startling.

I’m gonna stand in fucking line, and risk getting Covid. And i dont mind. I’m going to enjoy risking my life to vote against that disgusting piece of trump-shit.

Maybe its about time voting was actually a risk for white people, in this country.

No way I’m relying on the mail, now.

    Improving photosynthesis through genetic modification…

“Scientists from the University of Essex, through the research project Realizing Increased Photosynthetic Efficiency (RIPE) have resolved two major photosynthetic bottlenecks to boost plant productivity by 27 percent in real-world field conditions, according to a new study published in Nature Plants. The photosynthetic hack has also been shown to conserve water.“

…Of course, we don’t know what the Dem establishment does (or did) behind the scenes, but at least they’re publicly supporting their leftward most flank. That’s encouraging.

We know the 99 to 1 number. Whats the algebra in the House. How many leftist-squad members are there, compared to the Dem/Rep Corporatist-Biosphere-Killers ?

I’ve been trying to figure it out. Its harder than i thought because there’s so many ways to define progressive/radical/leftist, etc.

If we look at the term ‘Democratic Socialist’ its easy – the algebra is:

    432 to 3.

AOC, Talib, and….Danny Davis? Why have i never heard of fucking Danny Davis?
    From Illinois, since 1997.

US proposes change to shower rules after Trump’s hair-washing moan

President believes shower water does not flow fast enough
‘My hair … I don’t know about you, but it has to be perfect’

The US president’s hair-washing complaints on Wednesday prompted the government to propose an easing of shower pressure standards.

The Trump administration proposed rule changes that would allow shower heads to boost water pressure, after Donald Trump repeatedly complained that bathroom fixtures do not work to his liking.

The Department of Energy plan followed comments from Trump last month at a White House event on rolling back regulations. He said he believed water does not come out fast enough from fixtures.

“So what do you do? You just stand there longer or you take a shower longer? Because my hair – I don’t know about you, but it has to be perfect,” he said.

Last December, Trump said environmental regulators were looking at sinks, faucets and toilets to revise rules meant to conserve water and fuel that heats it.

“People are flushing toilets 10 times, 15 times, as opposed to once,” Trump told a meeting of small business leaders at the White House.

Consumer groups decried the plan, saying current rules saved consumers money by conserving water and fuel.

The proposal would effectively allow shower fixtures to include multiple shower heads that would get around the 2.5 gallon per minute standard Congress set in 1992, when Trump’s fellow Republican George HW Bush was president.

The energy department also proposed easier standards on washing machines. The Trump administration says its regulatory rollbacks save average American households $3,100 a year. But conservationists say easing bathroom fixture standards could boost energy and water costs.

It was uncertain whether the plan would be finalized. Trump is campaigning for reelection and trails in opinion polls ahead of the vote on 3 November. If he wins and the proposal advances it could also face court battles.
