The domesticated goose is one nasty animal. Very territorial. I was at a friend’s house when I was in high school, and I went outside to have a cigarette. They had a goose and it didn’t like me one bit. It started honking at me, then it put its head all the way don to the ground and charged! Once it got next to me, it lifted up its head and pecked me right in the knee. I did land a kick, but it got out of range fast and started honking and flapping its wings. It basically backed me up against the house and I had to wait for my buddy’s brother (the owner of the goose) to come and put it back in its pen.

Not my best moment, but not my worst either!

    Hmmm.

Seeing how the Rams Logo now has white horns, find it hard to believe that the shoulder logos will still be gold.

    Just saying.

    Thanks, ZN.

I did warn her about pick-pockets. We did hear from her and she texted that the youth hostel is very nice. I’m pretty sure my Russian friend was just fucking with me; he is our reining chess master, even crushing the physicists, which pisses them off to no end.

The wife, son and I are going to Geneva the first week of April. Sonya is going to be working her internship (was a split semester; half classes that she just finished, half internship), but we are getting there on a Friday morning. I told her to pick a destination, and we’ll fly there Friday afternoon when she gets out of work, then back to Geneva Sunday afternoon. I’m hoping somewhere in Northern Italy, but it will be her call.

So who’s going to watch Bill tonight? I am. Can’t wait. I know he caught a lot of flak last week for having Milo on, but look what happened to the sad wanker since. Not saying there is a cause and effect between being on Real Time and crashing and burning, but not saying there isn’t either.

Color me skeptical. I really didn’t like losing Battle off the PS. If Saffold gets hurt and GW stays to script, the O Line will be a disaster (again).

My opinion only, of course, but I think this board lost some juice when we lost the contrarian. As much as he was a pain in many of our asses, we were getting some fire and a peek at a reality tunnel none of us inhabits.

OK, my bad; I thought you were saying his breed is Bondi, not that his name is Bondi.

See, that could have started a whole, “Is he and Australian Shepherd or is he a Bondi” board war. Good thing cooler heads prevailed.

    Hey, ZN.

Totally agree with that map, especially over the last 7 days…

Last Wednesday, I left my house at the normal 5:30AM to get up to Beverly by 9. We had snow the day before, but it had turned to rain overnight and was 35F when I left. Once I got north of Hartford, the temp was dipping from 33 to 31F. Then, I hit the first rest area on the Mass Pike, and everything except for the blacktop was coated in ice. Caused me to start listening to AM Boston radio, and then I heard about the 33 car pile-up in Wakefield, and then the 55 care pile-up in Lynnfield, and then traffic on I-90 came to a halt. There was a tractor trailer across the road. It took me over an hour to get from Exit 10 to Exit 10A. I turned around and went home; 5 hrs to get from home, to Exit 10A to home again.

Then the blizzard hit the next day. And then, snow, rain, ice snow on Sunday.

BTW, very nice looking dog, looks a lot to me like an Australian Shepherd. Are they related?

Sorry for you, and the people of WV who elected him. I see lots of Reps are catching shit during town halls back home. Good.

Me, I’m happy with my senators. Both have pissed off the Donald to no end. Murphy first with the gun control stuff, then Blumenthal leaking what the Justice Elect told him.

Was that the same kick returner who brought it out to the 10 on two kick-offs in a row?

If yes, he should be fired along with the Special Teams coach.

The only people besides Pats fans who are happy at this outcome Giants fans. They are the only team to beat this incarnation of evil not once, but twice, and no one else has done it even once…

There you go again, citing concepts like “is” and “true”…

I suggest you try “seems like to me” instead of “is” for a while.

Also, what is true to you may not be true to me or Mac, and surly not true to my cat (trust me; he doesn’t believe in anything he can’t stick his claws into).

2026? I thought we had at least until The Year 2525 (if Man is still alive)…

Or maybe all we have is Five Years (My brain hurts a lot), Five Years (That’s all we’ve got).

Just substitute “Fascism” for “Fashion” in the lyrics below.

This is where we are. DB must have seen it coming and bailed on us…

We’re walking that fine line, I think.

    “Fashion”

    There’s a brand new dance
but I don’t know its name
    That people from bad homes
    do again and again
    It’s big and it’s bland
    full of tension and fear
They do it over there but we don’t do it here

    [CHORUS]
    Fashion! Turn to the left
    Fashion! Turn to the right
    Oooh, fashion!
    We are the goon squad
    and we’re coming to town
    Beep-beep
    Beep-beep

Listen to me – don’t listen to me
Talk to me – don’t talk to me
Dance with me – don’t dance with me, no
    Beep-beep

    There’s a brand new talk,
    but it’s not very clear
    That people from good homes
    are talking this year
    It’s loud and tasteless
    and I’ve heard it before
You shout it while you’re dancing
    on the whole dance floor
    Oh bop, fashion

    [CHORUS]

Listen to me – don’t listen to me
Talk to me – don’t talk to me
Dance with me – don’t dance with me, no
    Beep-beep
    Beep-beep

Oh, bop, do do do do do do do do
    Fa-fa-fa-fa-fashion
Oh, bop, do do do do do do do do
    Fa-fa-fa-fa-fashion

All the times I watched that episode, I totally missed the fact that it was a nod to (or rip-off of) Orwell’s 1984. It wasn’t until I heard a commentator describing the week’s doings in Orwellian terms that it hit me.

I will be hoping the Falcons can win. I just feel that they are over matched.

If the Pats score first, look out.

    Fake news.

Everybody knows carbon is used as a filter for water. I mean, can you think of anything more healthy for you than crisp, burned carbon?

Before I butter my toast, I scrape some of the carbon off, crush it into a fine dust and snort it. Exhilarating!

The Falcons may very well have more talent on paper, but the Pats have the coaching and the “been there, done that” edge.

I think we’re going to see a carbon copy of last year with experience winning out over raw talent.

    Under the God
    Tin Machine

Skin dance back at the condo
    Skin heads getting to school
Beating on Blacks with a baseball bat
    Racism back in rule
White trash picking up Nazi flags
While you was gone, there was war
This is the West, get used to it
They put a swastika over the door
Under the God, under the God
Ten steps over the crazy crazy
Watchin’ their heads in the toilet bowl
    Don’t see supremacist hate
Right wing dicks in their boiler suits
    Picking out who to annihilate
    Toxic jungle of Uzi trails
    Tribesmen just wouldn’t live here
    Fascist flare is fashion cool
Well, you’re dead, you just ain’t buried, yet
Under the God, under the God
    Oh yeah
Under the God, under The God
As the walls came tumbling down
So, the secrets that we shared
I believed you by the palace gates
Now the savage days are here
    Under the God
    Yeah, yeah
    Mmm, oh, oh, oh

One step over the red line
Under the God, under the God
One step into the crazy, crazy
Crazy eyed man with a shot gun
Hot headed creep with a knife
    Love and peace and harmony

I’m thinking we’ll see a Pats / Falcons Super Bowl.

I just don’t see the Steelers being able to beat NE in NE. Then again, I sure didn’t see the Packers beating the Cowboys in Big D.

Then as always, his football instincts were spot on…

We’re obviously going to go through some growing pains here, but it was time to upset the apple cart.

IMO, the talent on this team has gotten a lot better, but the results weren’t translating to the W/L.

Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the coaching staff shakes out.

You know why he retired before the 2006 season? Because he had some dealings with Linehan and didn’t think he was ready to be a leader.

Really? I thought it was because his knees were shot…

I was concerned that McVey was too young, but the hiring of WP set my mind at ease.

I’m hoping that they are catching a wave at the crest; young, energetic HC who relates and gets the most out of his young core, wily old vets coordinating the X’s and O’s.

Not sure what SNS stands for. Our application isn’t classified. We were told to go and find a proton beam source. There were several to choose from, including UC Davis, but since we have the hardware in northern MA, MGH was very attractive.

My biggest regret is that my son made 2nd trumpet in the CT Western Regional and will be playing on Saturday, 1-14-17 after rehearsing / learning 1-13 and 1-14 with master level musicians.

Also, the day the actual exposure is supposed to take place is the same day my daughter is leaving for a semester abroad. She is flying out of JFK, and I was going to drive her there, but now that falls to my wife, who HATES driving in the NYC area.

Oh, and it also my wife’s birthday on Friday, 1-13.

I guess I’m kind of screwed, here.

    This game is killing me.

Growing up where I did, the Giants were always my “second team” because they were my friends team.

I actually yelled at the TV on a few of those plays where Rogers had waaay too much time.

I hope the Rams go after Cruz this offseason.
