    All the times I watched that episode, I totally missed the fact that it was a nod to (or rip-off of) Orwell’s 1984. It wasn’t until I heard a commentator describing the week’s doings in Orwellian terms that it hit me.

    Yes. Winston and Jean Luc, Jean Luc and Winston. It didn’t dawn on me until this week either.
