I seeing reports that Anthony Lynn just may take the HC job with the Chargers…he might not be in the fold just yet.

For me, and I’ve said it here a few times so…broken record time….it’s about the coordinators. I don’t have a clue who Shanahan is proposing and not even sure if McVey really has Phillips in the bag….but if he does, it sure got my spirits up.

It’s official.

Excited to announce Vance Joseph as head coach of the Denver Broncos!

I wonder if the package deal rumors have swayed Elways thinkin?

For the record…I’m fine with the package deal…just not thrilled with daddy as a GM.

If Vance Joseph gets the job that could put Phillips on the street. VJ is a defensive guy and would MTL want his system and guys in place.

If it plays out like that, I would hope Shanahan gives Phillips a call from LA and has him fly out for a steak.

I’m not buyin it…why would that disappoint him? I would think he would be upset they didn’t release the info.

I once had a boss tell me he was giving me a promotion but wasn’t giving me the title and we couldn’t tell anyone…I quit a week later.

I like the Shanahans..plural.

I’m not suggesting him for GM…possibly VP of player development. I’m not big on Coaches as GM’s because when in the middle of working on the game planning and such you aren’t working on watching college guys…now that he’s not a coach he will have a different eye for what he’s looking at. The guy knows football and he knows the O Kyle is gonna run…I feel confident in his ability to identify talent along with Snead.

It seems as though our line was built for zone blocking and the Shanahans are a zone blocking O…perfect fit for TG IMO.

I really enjoyed that article and thought the guy was spot on….just ask him.

Not sure I take it the same way…in fact, I certainly don’t want them narrowing their search to exclusively one type of HC.

As stated in previous threads, I’m squarely in the “The coordinators are very important” category…In fact, if I were interviewing that would be one of my first questions.

So…Even though I would like a promising offensive minded guy (Shanahan, McVey) I wouldn’t like it if the Rams only wanted to talk with those types of guys.

Also, in one of the Demoff articles posted here, he stated some of the interviews are informational only…getting info from that years opponents seeking info on other teams perceptions of Rams strengths and weaknesses.

No reason to get on a ledge if the Rams don’t hire Shanahan…Plenty of good candidates out there..McVay is quickly rising on my wish list….Patricia has risen also…and I always remind myself it’s not only about the HC it’s about his staff.
