January 2, 2016 at 11:12 am in reply to: 2016 NFL Draft: Lynch, Goff joining QB class full of promise and projects #36465JackPMillerParticipant
Don’t be shocked if the Chargers draft Goff. They own the third pick. Cleveland will take Paxson Lynch at 2, barring the Titans don’t trade the first pick.
JackPMillerParticipantChip Kelly will be the new Head Coach of the Tennessee Titans. Just a guess.
JackPMillerParticipantThe problem we have, is it is not a strong QB class. Paxson Lynch and Jared Goff will be gone before we pick. The rest of the QBs, like Connor Cook, have flaws. With Cook, I saw issues with decision making. He’ll be OK, but in a backup role. I like the late round, 6th to 7th round guys better than the guys after Lynch and Goff. Kevin Hogan of Stanford, Trevone Boykin of TCU, Jeff Driskel of Louisiana Tech, and Marquise Williams of UNC come to mind, over Conner Cook, Cardale Jones, Dak Prescott, and Christian Hackenberg.
JackPMillerParticipantWell….what about QB ?
Ya know.
What about that.
w
vOutside of Jared Goff and Paxson Lynch there is no one worth taking at 10. I see Paxson going to Cleveland and Goff going to San Diego, not San Fran.
JackPMillerParticipantI like Myles Jack. We need some OLBers. Right now, Mark Barron is playing one of the OLB spots, of course he is being called Weak Safety. Jack and Olgetree would be a great duo as OLBers.
JackPMillerParticipantJackPMillerParticipantI’m tired of hearing injuries as an excuse. The New England Patriots have had tons of injuries, and they are 10-2. There OLine and WR core has guys coming off the street, and they are playing well. Coach these guys up. The young team mantra needs to stop as well. Fisher has been here which will be 4 years, and all we got was sub-500 teams, in that span. Mediocrity is all we are getting. Change is a need.

JackPMillerParticipantThat is on the Head Coach, and Coaching staff. That is why Fisher needs to go.
I don’t agree.
I thought they had turned the corner already going into 2014, but then injuries to the qb and OL squashed that.
Because of the OL and qb situations they started over in 2015.
What killed that was Foles melting down. Which no one predicted. It is true the OL struggled in 2015 before they then got injured on top of it, but you expect a young OL to struggle. And I figure the OL was young in the first place because they had to choose their poison. It was either (1) sign vet FAs which would mean taking money from the 2016 and 2017 caps, or (2) going young on the OL and saving 2016 and 2017 cap space for signing as many of their own FAs as possible.
They might change the coach, they might not. Either way I don’t see the issues as being the head coach. I see it as a series of injury disasters being compounded by Foles falling far below the minimally decent standard he set in 2014.
Again, record wise, we have been worse in his four years. No NFL Head Coach ever stays til the end of the contract. Fisher needs to go, because his record has been getting worse. Fisher is overrated as a Head Coach. He has a career losing record. Not something you want. It is better to start with a new Head Coach. An offensive mind. Hue Jackson, or even Darrell Bevell come to mind.
JackPMillerParticipantLets also throw in, he will be in his fourth straight losing season with us. This was supposed to be the year we make the playoffs, still no playoffs. We would be lucky to win one more game. Ever year he has been here, the seasons got 7-8-1 to 7-9 to 6-10, and it looks like we will be lucky to win another game this year. That is on the Head Coach, and Coaching staff. That is why Fisher needs to go.
JackPMillerParticipantInteresting, That is the last time our Rams beat a team with a non divisional foe, with a winning record on the road. We beat the Colts in Indy 38-8. That was November 10, 2013
JackPMillerParticipantI hope Fish pounds in how the Vikings embarrassed us at home lastyear. If the Rams players want to believe, they need to win this game big time.
JackPMillerParticipantRams 27-9ers 16
Todd Gurley will get 25 rushes for 198 yards and 2 TD. Nick Foles stat line will be something like 16-23; 276 yards; 1 TD; 1 INT
JackPMillerParticipantThe way this years draft lays out. I am going best CB, best DE, TE, then WR, in that order. I might take two if good ones are available. I won’t pass on Cook, if he is there. It is early, but right now that looks like it maximizes the talent and it is independent of whoever I can sign as FAs. ps, I am cutting Cook.
I’d consider OLB, if we are at 20. If Myles Jack is healthy, and can pass test, Jack and Olgetree as OLBs could be a nightmare too teams, and at 20, a perfect fit. I feel we will be OK at CB. I predict we sign either Jenkins or Johnson, and play them along side with EJ Gaines. In round 2, which we will have two 2nd rounders.
As of now, based on how I see it for the first 4 rounds,
1. pick 20 – Myles Jack OLB UCLA – slides due to injury, and other team needs.
2a. pick 39 – OJ Howard TE Alabama
2b. pick 42 – Jonathan Bullard DE Florida
3. pick 64 – Pat Elflein OG Ohio State
4. pick 86 – Ricky Seals-Jones WR Texas A&M- This reply was modified 9 years ago by JackPMiller.
JackPMillerParticipant20th would be a good place to draft a TE that can block and catch the ball; Jared Cook is just not good enough and the other TEs are not special. I want special. I would be OK with the top rated center in the draft here too, if he has the right size and feet to justify the pick. Not sure if I want a LB here. I am not keen on using another first round pick
Both William Hayes, and Eugene Simms are UFAs after this season, and then by the 2017 NFL Draft, Chris Long becomes a UFA as well. Long I predict, will be looking for a deal like 5 years, 100 million, and $70 million guaranteed. I bet some team will give him something that close, and hopefully it is not us.
JackPMillerParticipantI feel OLB could be top need. If we are drafting at 20, I would not Myles Jack OLB UCLA. Of course that is if he pass medical test and such. Jack at one OLB spot, and Olgetree at the other could be scary. I know I wrote about I like Lagoun Treadwell WR Ole Miss, I predict he will be gone in the top 10. There are nice quality WR’s later in the draft.
October 26, 2015 at 12:44 am in reply to: La Confora: Eagles unlikely to recoup pick from Rams from Sam Bradford trade #32960JackPMillerParticipantI would like the Eagles to lose a lot. I would prefer it not be Bradford’s fault, though I could live with that, as long as he keeps playing.
Call me greedy. I want a high second round pick.
+1
JackPMillerParticipantI accidentally , forgot to right in offsides, but we need our lines to play with more discipline.
JackPMillerParticipantI am tired of the number of false starts, and holding calls we get. Granted we played the Browns today, but against better competition, those teams will kill us. The OLine DLine coach needs to do some work on that. That is all I have to say.
JackPMillerParticipantI have it, Rams 23-Browns 10
October 22, 2015 at 8:24 am in reply to: Justice Cunningham hopes to offer help for Rams at tight end #32724JackPMillerParticipantSo, he is saying Justice will be served. OK, bad joke.
October 21, 2015 at 10:41 am in reply to: I'm thinking we may have to address the DE position in the draft #32692JackPMillerParticipant;I thought you wanted to draft Treadwell?
I do like Treadwell. But it is hard when I have so many scenarios in my head. Plus, for DE I am thinking of round 2.
JackPMillerParticipantLove this.
JackPMillerParticipantIf he does go, Darrell Bevel OC of the Seattle Seahawks would be on top of my list as new Rams Head Coach, but the 2nd and 3rd options I have which I would not mind either Ken Norton Jr. DC of the Oakland Raiders, and Ray Horton co-DC of the Tennessee Titans.
JackPMillerParticipantHow good did we expect the OLine to be? I mean we have two rookies starting on the Oline, and plaus a starting Center with limited experience. The Oline needs seasoning and such to grow. That is it.
JackPMillerParticipantThe bye week is tough, so I am going to say the bye week wins, 27-17. LOL
October 11, 2015 at 9:18 pm in reply to: Proud of the defense. Offense? Not so much… (game reaction thread) #32170JackPMillerParticipantTwo rookies starting on the OL, and a guy named Barrett Jones is virtually a rookie himself, since he has not played until this season.
JackPMillerParticipantBut the defense did not struggle against Pittsburgh, the offense did. And then of course the following week the offense contributed to defeating Arizona in Arizona. It is clear that the Rams offense stumbled against Washington and the Steelers, so the question then becomes whether the Arizona game was another “rise up against the strong” type Rams victory we have seen before with an inconsistent team, or if it represented an actual step forward.
Roethlisberger was seen as having a banner year, but after early scores by the Steelers, the Rams defense rose to the occasion and took the game to them.
I look at this Steelers team, even with Big Ben as a bad football team. The Steelers D lost some big leaders, and Dick LeBeau. The Steelers in my mind have a not so good OLine, which has Kelvin Beachum as the starting LT. Should have destroyed the Steelers. We are much better than Pittsburgh. That is how I feel. If we could not beat Pittsburgh at home, we have no shot at beating the Packers in Green Bay.
- This reply was modified 9 years, 1 month ago by JackPMiller.
JackPMillerParticipantWe are playing Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. If we struggled against Pittsburgh at home, then we will truly have issues against the Pack in their place.
Packers 36-Rams 13

JackPMillerParticipantYo
But you didn’t, so I’m glad.
Glad that your back, Jack.
So, no shot at all against Green Bay? Hmmm.
I said no way they beat the Seahawks, and had to eat crow the first week of the season. Tasted terrible and delicious all at the same time. I thought no way they beat Arizona. I thought it, but didn’t say it, so no crow had to be eaten.
I knew we were going to win that game. They did not have no Kam Chancellor, in that game. Plus, we have won 3 of the last 4 against them at home. Should have been, 4 straight, if it were not a stupid call to throw the ball on the goal line, instead of passing in on that Thursday night
