they’re actually a better running team than passing team according to stats.

they rank third in rushing and fifth in passing.

i think the important thing for the mcvay offense is balance.

so that the play action is more effective.

gurley 16 carries for 115 yards.

in 2 postseason games, 30 carries for 216 yards and a 7.2 average per carry.

quickly carving out a reputation as a big time running back.

cj made a lot of headlines today but so did gurley. outperformed the leading rusher in the nfl in 2 matchups so far.

also i’m loving the 2 headed rushing attack. rams can’t re-sign anderson at this point. he’ll demand too much money, but rams should seriously consider drafting another running back next year in the later rounds.

rushing attack so important to this rams offense.

before lynch took it over jodorowski was supposed to make dune.

i wish i coulda seen that one.

that film which never actually got made went on to influence other films such as alien.

it would have been a spectacle for sure.

like i’ve said before don’t really care who the rams play.

don’t care if the eagles win and, assuming the rams win their game, the home field advantage goes back to the rams.

although. yes. as petty as it may be. i don’t want the chargers to have any success. is that wrong?

I want the Chargers to lose to NE for only one reason…I don’t want good things to happen for the Chargers as long as they share a city, and soon to be a stadium, with the Rams.

it would really suck if the chargers made it to the superbowl.

this is the matchup i wanted.

we’ll see. i just feared that bears d. i don’t think the cowboys d will match up quite as well.

but elliot is going to be difficult to stop.

    special player.

one of my favorite players ever.

and yeah. he deserved better than having to play on some really shitty teams.

i know people here want the bears, but i’m hoping the eagles win.

i don’t like the idea of elliot running on this defense, but i like the rams’ chances in a high scoring game rather than a defensive slugfest against the bears.

who was noteboom going up against primarily?

i think one game is too early to tell.

we won’t really know until he’s consistently starting games.

but i like his measurables. he’s athletic. he’s long.

i’d rather have athletic and long than physical and nasty at left tackle.

Yes, they are. They might end up with comp picks for Suh and Joyner and they have a good chance to resign Saffold and Fowler. imo

so probably no money for anderson?

    who do you keep?

    i’d like to keep

    saffold
    anderson
fowler (maybe on a one or two year deal)
    littleton
brown (can never have enough running backs)

    but is that even possible?

Former #Rams OC Matt LaFleur has been requested to interview for the #Packers HC job.

    too soon.

i’d prefer to see what he can do with mariota, henry, and the titans offense for at least one more year before deciding his hc credentials.

ME: IMO…Zac Taylor’s not ready to be a head coach.

everyone’s looking for the next hot hc candidate.

if they want someone to groom rosen, why not just hire mike mccarthy?

The Bears are real, and they handled the Rams, and for the sake of self-respect, the Rams need to handle them back.

i just want a playoff win. any playoff win will do.

    just for comparison sake.

tom brady in his third year ranked 9th in qb rating. 10th in his fourth year.

drew brees ranked 28th in qb rating his third year. 3rd his fourth year.

peyton manning 6th his third year. 8th his fourth year.

by the way goff ranked 5th his sophomore season. manning 4th brady 6th brees 24th.

    long way to go still.

    well.

if i did the calculations right, goff ends up with a qb rating of 101.1 on the season.

that should be good for 8th in the league. kirk cousins who was eighth with a 100.9 rating will drop a little after his performance today.

that’s with kupp out and gurley for 2 games.

that’s also with a bigger load on his shoulders this season compared to last season in test of attempts per game.

and it’s a slight improvement over the 100.5 he got last season.

not too bad. second season in the mcvay offense. third season in the league. he’s progressing.

i’m honestly surprised they keep trotting barkley out there. i realize there were some rookie records to break.

but shoot. he’s had to carry a load this season.

    i woulda protected him.

#Rams signed former #Packers OT Kyle Murphy to the practice squad. The team placed C J.J. Dielman on PS injured list. Murphy, a former 6th-round pick out of Stanford spent all of 2018 on the IR, he’s started three career games in the NFL.

i don’t know how they feel about noteboom, but the one pick i would make in this upcoming draft besides defense would be a left tackle in the first round. i don’t know if whit has another season in him.

There;s the rub though. Don’t Rivers and Roethlisberger fit that definition? But I think it’s stretching the meaning of “elite” to call them elite.

well i would consider those two qbs to be elite.

what you’re talking about i’m not even sure brees and brady qualify as. i only see rodgers qualify as that kind of qb. a qb who can win games by himself.

and i think mahomes might be the next guy to be able to do that. but i need to see more from him.

those guys are rare. and it’s even harder to demonstrate. so it’ll always be open to debate. but i just don’t see a huge difference between a brady/brees and a rivers/roethlisberger.

yeah. he had the shoulder injury.

he’s got good hands. he really attacks that ball in the air.

and his ability after the catch is very good.

    he’s got very good size.

i really do think he’s a dark horse candidate next year. no one else on the team with his blend of size, strength, and athleticism. just need to find out if he can mentally handle it.

in reply to: can Goff get to be an elite qb #95806

To be elite it has to be something more than that. And it’s not easy to describe. I would say that to be considered elite, a qb has to demonstrate a few times a season that the team can win on the basis of his arm above all else. That’s getting into the territory of guys like Brees and Brady in his prime.

i think that’s hard to measure.

i am more in line with mcvay’s definition.

consistency in production over a long period of time.

and i’m talking about elite level production.

so i would say a guy like rivers belongs in that conversation.

consistent top 5 production over a number of years.

now i don’t think goff will ever be on the level of an aaron rodgers. a guy who can excel no matter who is around him.

but i think he can be a brees level of qb. he’s not even close to that yet, but i think the potential is there.

Sean McVay “would think” Todd Gurley will be ready for the playoffs, however, there was a “but.” He doesn’t sound 100 percent sure TG will be good to go for the postseason

    hmmmm…
