What a bunch of interesting games.

    Rams 7-1 at home.
    Dallas 3-5 away.

    That’s encouraging.

It’s a good slate of games. There isn’t a thing that would surprise me this weekend.

Well, I went 1-3 in the wild card round so I’m picking Dallas!

I’d love to see the Chargers knock off the Pats… LA / LA SB?

It would be surreal for me if the Colts won the AFC. I mean i havent noticed them all year.

I suppose i would like to see the Rams play the Chargers in the Super Bowl.

It would make the spirit of GRITS very happy.

Colts are the real deal. Rose after a slow start. The slow start doomed their media recognition. In that respect they are the opposite of the Rams, who began as media darlings and then got questioned.

The Path of Redemption would have been Chicago, New Orleans, Boston.

We are not on that path at the moment, but could still get 2/3 of it.

    Rooting?

    Nah. Don’t care.

They have to beat everybody in their path.

I do agree with Nittany, though, in that I don’t want the Chargers to have any success in Los Angeles. I want them out of town.

like i’ve said before don’t really care who the rams play.

don’t care if the eagles win and, assuming the rams win their game, the home field advantage goes back to the rams.

although. yes. as petty as it may be. i don’t want the chargers to have any success. is that wrong?

    Of course it’s not Wrong.

The scriptures says nothing about being petty. There are a lot of rules about all kinds of human behavior, but nowhere can you find a single text that cautions against rooting against a football team for some nebulous motivations involving bizarre geographical loyalties. So it’s not wrong. At least, not in a Classical sense.

    Chargers 35 – Patriots 17…

Your lips to God’s ears, or your fingers to God’s… never mind, you get the point.

I have no idea what will happen.

I WANT the Colts, Chargers, and Eagles to win.

But. I ain’t necessarily puttin good money down on all three of those teams.

The Colts are way under the radar and are playing very good team football and the Chiefs seem more like a collection of exceptional individual talent at a few positions. I’m looking for a reason to pick against the Chiefs but I can’t find one, I think they beat the Colts.

The Cowboys will go as far as Ezekiel Elliott will take them and I don’t think that is going to be far enough. The Rams miss Kupp but are otherwise healthy and focused and going to win. Donald will chase Dak all the way to the airport and back to Dallas.

I keep wanting to write off the Patriots and old man Brady but they keep winning and going deep into the postseason. As much as I would like the Bolts to win, I think Gordon is still gimpy and the evil wizard Belichick casts a spell to win.

How do the Eagles keep winning? I think they have been very lucky and resourceful to get this far but it comes crashing down around them this weekend. Brees and Thomas and the no-name receivers could put this game away in the 3rd quarter, I expect a big Saints win.

Here’s a poll I took on a Rams FB page. The top answer has three dots to the right. That is +102. Apparently in FB polls, it can only handle double digits, not triple. So the top answer had 105 total votes.

Well Colts/Chiefs is today and I have a little favoritism for the Colts in that one. Not sure I can watch but I can probably peek at it now and then.

I hope the Chargers get destroyed on Sunday. I hope they are humiliated so badly that they decide to immediately dissolve the organization before they even fly back from Boston.

    That could happen, right?

    I see it differently.

First I don’t mind 2 winners in LA.

Second no way you will get me to endorse a Patz win.

Third I think the Chargers are deserving, they’re a good story IMO.

So it looks like we have us…a board war.

Like the British Navy, the Pats dominance is coming to an end. One more victory matters little.

And what makes the Chargers such a compelling story? Perhaps the most talent-laden team in the league wins a buncha’ games and makes the playoffs? That’s a good story?

Nah, to me a better story would be: “Unworthy and unwanted team that dared challenge the Rams for LA supremacy perishes in frigid eastern Massachusetts like the Germans at Stalingrad”.

That seems like an overly complicated and unnecessarily roundabout way to say something basically simple, which is “I Nittany am a Patriots fan.”

Just spit it out, NittanyPatriot. If anything, you would be respected for your honesty.

I can understand. Following the Rams is a long story of hard patience and a lot of disappointment. Jumping on a glittery bandwagon would seem like an obvious move. Not for me–I am too steadfast, loyal, and principled for that–but no one would judge you for having done that. I mean to each his own.
