InvaderRamModerator
he’s the 7th ranked safety at least according to pff.
he’s been solid the past 2 seasons.
i guess i’m waiting to see if he takes it to another level. maybe with weddle mentoring him he does.
and i’m guessing his preference is to stay in la. not that he’d take a discount, but with all things being equal contract-wise i’m guessing he’ll choose la.
InvaderRamModeratori like jj. but if you’re the rams do you pay him?
InvaderRamModeratorright now i’m just thinking about what the defense looks like with weddle, kiser, gaines, long, rapp, and okoronkwo in the lineup.
can’t wait for training camp. i think i’m more excited about this season than last. i always favor the homegrown players over free agents, so it’ll be fun to see how the young guys like kiser, gaines, long, rapp, and okoronkwo do. and even on offense with henderson and everett potentially adding a few wrinkles. not to mention the new look oline with noteboom and allen.
lots of uncertainty but also lots of excitement.

I know it’s only OTA’s, but #Rams Sean McVay does as good a job as any coach I’ve seen making 11-on-11 periods competitive. That said, Jared Goff looked really good throwing the ball today. Really, really good.i’m curious to see how the next four years go.
he’s not even close to reaching his peak years.
InvaderRamModeratordare i say i don’t think the defense skips a beat.
InvaderRamModeratorjust a guess but i don’t think the offense skips a beat. and there’s a small chance they’re even better.
InvaderRamModeratorWhat is the “this” that did that?
Side note. You know, the Memphis coach watched a lot of tape of the McVay Rams and built a lot of it into his offense there.
for some reason i thought he has performed poorly in agility drills. but i found an article recently that showed his ss and 3-cone times. they’re actually pretty good. not elite level but good enough that they’ve quelled my concerns about his ability to cut. a ss time of 4.29 and a 3-cone of 7.00 is good.
and if he’s coming into an offense he already has familiarity with all the better.
his receiving ability also has me intrigued as well.
InvaderRamModeratorwell. this is forcing me to readjust my opinion again.
completely on board with this pick.
InvaderRamModeratoractually i just came across this article. his agility numbers according to this are actually not bad. not elite. but good.
short shuttle 4.29 seconds
3-cone 7.00 secondsHenderson stood on most of his combine marks but did rerun the three-cone (7.00 seconds) and short shuttle (4.29 seconds).
InvaderRamModeratori see and understand the comparisons to kamara.
runner/receiver. explosive. tough to tackle.
we’ll see. again his agility numbers don’t stand out. and that’s important for me. but there are always exceptions. kamara being one of them interestingly.
May 18, 2019 at 6:15 pm in reply to: informal poll – sign Goff to an extension now or next year #101448InvaderRamModeratori would go with what mcvay recommends. if he’s not sure, i wait.
if mcvay wants goff, sign him to the extension now.
InvaderRamModeratorthat’s why i’m hesitant to list ogbo as a starter.
i think at least noteboom and kiser start. if not kiser then maybe ebukam.
with allen i trust kromer. it says a lot that they didn’t draft a center in the first round when they very well could have.
from the 2019 draft i could see rapp, at least one of the olinemen, long, and gaines eventually starting. and at the very least they’ll see significant time in rotation this year.
but again. we gotta see it first. this will be the next kind of prove it stage for mcvay and snead. sustaining success as you lose key players and replenishing talent through the draft.
InvaderRamModeratori like ogbo. but i like almost all the draft picks. they can’t all be slam dunks can they?
InvaderRamModeratori won’t deny that his stats are out of this world.
at this point i’m just gonna trust the numbers and the rams’ track record for drafting defensive backs.
he sounds like an absolute steal at this point. probably doesn’t start right away with the rams having signed weddle. but who knows? maybe he forces his way into the lineup like jj did. weddle is a very good player but he is getting old. if nothing else he learns under one of the best and then takes over next year.
at the very least he should excel in special teams and rotate in on occasion.

InvaderRamModeratorrams could be relying on up to 3 players to start from that draft class.
and ogbo as a significant contributor.
if the rams pull it off, snead’s reputation goes through the roof.
InvaderRamModeratorThe main reason experts thought Gaines would go lower is because of his size. He is undersized standing at 6’1″ but really that doesn’t matter as much as you might think.
actually it could potentially help him in terms of leverage. linemen will have a hard time getting a lower pad level on him.
he’s got short arms which i don’t like, but it might not matter as much at nt.
wilfork was short at 6’1″ too. didn’t seem to hurt him.
InvaderRamModeratoronly things maybe are he’s not long limbed. and he doesn’t have deep speed although i think 4.45 is fast enough.
InvaderRamModeratorrams seem to have a knack for finding dbs. especially in the later rounds.
i like everything i read about this guy.
InvaderRamModeratorGerald Everett went from being the 50th (out of 51 TEs) as a rookie to 4th in just one year
In half as many snaps in 2018, Everett outperformed his colleague Tyler Higbee in receiving, and looks to further improve as a key blocker for the #Rams moving forward
i wanna see everett in more of those 3 wr sets with cooks, woods, and kupp.
the 2 te sets too.
he seems to have surpassed higbee receiving and blocking.
May 12, 2019 at 2:08 am in reply to: What does Xavien Howard’s contract mean for Marcus Peters? #101267InvaderRamModeratorI am not a fan of Peters, so let him have his payday else where and I will take the comp pick.
yeah. i’d let him walk.
InvaderRamModeratorGurley, no doubt at this point, knows he has to share time, and will be all in.
i don’t think he’ll care.
InvaderRamModeratori hope todd’s ok.
InvaderRamModeratorthe more i read about this guy the more i think aaron donald. not in terms of style of play or ability. but in terms of mentality.
i really like this pick.
still woulda like tillery too though. ha.
InvaderRamModeratorand his blocking too.
but yeah his athleticism after the catch is something else.
InvaderRamModeratorspecial teams dynamo. love that they continue to spend resources on all their units.

TE GERALD EVERETT, LOS ANGELES RAMS
Gerald Everett played almost half the snaps that teammate Tyler Higbee did, but he outperformed him over the course of the season. Everett had the edge as a receiver in both yardage totals and grades, but it’s his improvement as a blocker that could elevate Everett’s playing time next season. After mustering 54.7 run-blocking grade in his rookie year, Everett ended the 2018 campaign with a run-blocking grade of 74.9 which far outpaced Higbee – who is typically considered the team’s blocking specialist.https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-sophomore-standouts-from-the-2018-nfl-season
GERALD EVERETT, TE, LOS ANGELES RAMS
2017 Overall Grade: 53.12018 Overall Grade: 82.5
Everett finished the 2018 season as our fourth-highest graded tight end, exactly one season after he ranked 50th out of 51 qualified tight ends as a struggling rookie. The Rams’ 2017 second-round pick caught 97.4% of the catchable passes thrown his way as an NFL sophomore after he hauled in just 70.8% of catchable passes as a rookie, and he showed tremendous improvement as a run blocker, as he ranked fourth in the league last season with a 76.3 run-blocking grade, a grade that was over 20.0 points higher than the 54.6 run-blocking grade he earned as a rookie.
InvaderRamModeratoras long as he contributes on special teams i’m ok with that.
InvaderRamModeratorI wonder if Talib and the RAMS would entertain a move to FS after this year.
assuming rapp comes good that probably doesn’t happen.
InvaderRamModeratorAre they due for the same constraints next year?
good question. i don’t know.
InvaderRamModeratorI’d love to see the Rams sign Danny Shelton.
i like gaines too, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to sign a guy like shelton. gaines will still be a rookie. and a fourth rounder. far from a guarantee.
