September 5, 2020 at 12:44 pm in reply to: cut-downs & new practice squad rules…update, Rams cut 17 #120432
InvaderRamModeratorI had those guys being cut. I think they would keep Williams and Rozeboom. I think this year, it would be easy for a lot of the cuts to get to the Practice Squad.
yeah. and it sounds like the plan is to put them on the ps.
i think rozeboom could be a big surprise this year.

InvaderRamModeratorjohnston confirms he’s cut. rumor that hoecht has been cut.

InvaderRamModeratori desperately want to see christian rozeboom, jonah williams, and michael hoecht on the final 53.
three undrafted rookies with some serious physical attributes.
looks like they still have 10 cuts to get down to 53?
InvaderRamModeratori feel for lewis. such a talent but can’t stay healthy. i mean unbelievable talent. he’s top tier. just can’t stay healthy.
InvaderRamModeratorRight, yeah. And we would take that in a heartbeat, and maybe we will get it. Kupp had OTAs and so on, of course. But Jefferson seems to be ahead of the curve in technique, if not the speed of the game and complex NFL schemes, etc. So…I look forward to pummeling Dallas, and may Jefferson shine.
hopefully the rams don’t need jefferson to be that. higbee and everett should have a bigger role as well.
but yeah. sounds like he could have a kupp like rookie season. he’s also older than your typical rookie so you’d guess he’s got a maturity that most rookies lack.
InvaderRamModeratorSomeone to keep an eye on especially after Travin Howard injury news: South Dakota State UDFA linebacker Christian Rozeboom, who has gotten in with the twos rotation against the ones in team work today.
i like what i read about rozeboom after the draft. he’s got good measurables. lots of college production.
InvaderRamModeratorlink https://theramswire.usatoday.com/2020/08/14/rams-burgess-fuller-rookie-secondary-camp/
Burgess comes in as a third-round pick out of Utah, providing excellent position versatility and instincts in the defensive backfield. He only has one year of starting experience under his belt, but he played all over the field last season for the Utes, lining up everywhere from outside corner to linebacker.
this probably has been posted before. but shoot. this has me curious.
can’t wait to see this defense – especially the secondary. with all the talk about ramsey and him playing multiple roles. burgess and his versatility. i’m guessing burgess starts at the beginning of the season with rapp still out.
InvaderRamModerator“I just care a lot. I care a lot about my teammates. I care a lot about what I do, and I take this stuff seriously.”
@JB_Long: Jordan Fuller making a great first impression
this shouldn’t be a surprise to us. the rams just have a knack for finding defensive backs.
and assuming burgess pans out as well. and so far it seems to be going in that direction. do the rams re-sign john johnson? i love johnson, but there’s only so much cap space to go around.
InvaderRamModeratorfrom https://theramswire.usatoday.com/2020/08/31/rams-power-rankings-dvoa-analytics/
Doug Farrar of Touchdown Wire … slotted teams from No. 1 to 32 based on Football Outsiders’ widely used DVOA metric, which measures a team’s performance on every single play compared to league-average based on specific situations.
In Farrar’s DVOA-based power rankings, the Rams came in at No. 13 with a projected 3.2% DVOA and average wins of 8.4.
Who knows what the Rams are these days? They could be the 13-3 squad that made it to Super Bowl LIII at the end of the 2018 season, or they could be the 2019 team that finished 9-7, out of the playoffs. FO thinks the 2020 Rams will be more like the 2019 Rams, and I find it difficult to disagree. Teams that drop from an offensive DVOA of over 20% to under 5% in a one-season stretch don’t tend to revert to their best form, and Jared Goff’s obvious limitations could put a pin in that. FO has the Rams projected with a total DVOA of 3.2%, and an Average Wins total of 8.4.
well. if the oline and the running game can get going. and if van jefferson is the real deal. the offense should be back on track.
InvaderRamModeratorshoot. i don’t if it would work cap-wise. but i’d totally take a shot at fournette if i had the opportunity.
InvaderRamModeratorThe Rams have big plans for Jalen Ramsey. They want him to be “a weapon on defense” and play a role that’s never been seen before
i can only imagine what they mean by this statement.
i mean. is he going to be playing some kind of cb/s/lb hybrid? use him as a blitzer. a run stopper. coverage. lockdown corner.
a role that’s never been seen before? i’m intrigued.
InvaderRamModeratorlinebacking crew. is it safe to say this is the most questionable unit on the team?
but i also think there’s real potential there. lewis might be most representative of that. a big question mark but could also be one of the most talented players on the defensive unit.
InvaderRamModeratorvan jefferson.
can’t wait to see this guy play. reading nothing but positive things about this guy.
InvaderRamModeratoractually the bone jerseys are not bad. they’re going with the blue socks. which i think is a good choice.
InvaderRamModeratorok. well. they’re not going to show the actual scrimmage itself.
which makes sense. but i gotta say. those uniforms are not doing it for me.
InvaderRamModeratorAnchrum had a good day in drills.
i’ve just got this feeling about him.
i think he makes it. and maybe just maybe. not this year. but i could see him becoming the rams starting center in a year or two.
InvaderRamModeratorthe tweets by silva. lewis looks awesome.
so good to see.
InvaderRamModeratorfrom https://theramswire.usatoday.com/lists/hard-knocks-rams-episode-2-recap-takeaways/
Aaron Donald is an outstanding teacher
During a team meeting, McVay specifically pointed out Donald for being a leader. It wasn’t a play he made in practice, but something he did during individual drills. McVay showed Donald teaching rookie defensive lineman Jonah Williams about technique on the side, which McVay says is a testament to his leadership and the team coming together.
It’s an example of the type of thing McVay wants to see from players across the roster, especially in this shortened offseason. Donald is the perfect player for teammates to look up to, and he’s doing his part to lift everyone else up around him – and not just during the game by eating up double-teams.
hoecht is in that episode as well. number 96.
August 19, 2020 at 11:22 pm in reply to: Rams camp, 2020 … including “At Camp Live” vids w/ Long, Farr, & MJ-D #119659
InvaderRamModeratorrams camp live day 2 in pads from 8/19/2020. towards the end. lewis goes 1 on 1 with evans. wow. he looks good. lewis that is.
InvaderRamModeratorNoteboom (LG) & Corbett (RG)
i like.
InvaderRamModeratorJared Goff
he looks noticeably bigger and more athletic.
or maybe it’s just my imagination.
InvaderRamModeratorThis is like a fucking airport.
there’s a very sterile feeling to the new stadium. almost like a 5 billion dollar restroom…
i woulda just preferred they stay at the coliseum personally.

InvaderRamModeratorWhat about Brewer or Hoecht?
i’m pretty sure i’ve seen hoecht in some of those twitter vids. #96.
i hope this guy can make the roster. so big. so fast.
InvaderRamModeratoraaron donald also has his own channel if you’re interested.
it’s really not that interesting.
InvaderRamModerator
InvaderRamModeratorAs far as ratings…yeah. Not surprisingly, this show has evolved into extended commercials for the NFL. There is no longer any honesty in it.
yeah. it’s a bad bad show.
i did like the other one on amazon though.
InvaderRamModeratorexpecting huge things from this guy.
if the season ever happens.
InvaderRamModeratorthe first link is blocked. not sure if i did something wrong. is it working for everyone else?
InvaderRamModeratorI like the jersies! Though I don’t like em to “willing to board war over it” levels. It;s just my vote.
I agree about the helmet.
i just don’t like the numbers.
i’ll be a little happier if they go blue/yellow for home and bone/blue for road. but really i’d like them to just change the jersey. soon.
maybe when i see it in action i’ll change my mind.
