InvaderRamModerator
They are not a Super Bowl challenger anymore this season. So that expectation is gone.
i was not demoralized until today. the season is done. maaaybe playoffs. they shoulda been looking to the future. rebuilding the oline.
instead they trade away 2 more first rounders.
well. hope that david edwards is the answer.
InvaderRamModeratorrams are dumb. they had a good thing going, and they’re fucking it up.
InvaderRamModeratorThis team feels like it is falling apart. It is feeling like a lost year.
it might very well be a lost year. but i’m not sure the team is falling apart. depends on your definition.
i think the oline is falling apart. i think there’s no pass rush outside of aaron donald.
the draft will be very important for sure.
October 13, 2019 at 1:31 pm in reply to: non-Rams NFL tweets + some college FB too … 10/13 thru ? #106608InvaderRamModeratori hate to say it. but russell wilson is one of those rare talents at qb. maybe he, rodgers, and mahomes are just in a class by themselves.
October 10, 2019 at 1:02 am in reply to: Rams’ need to fix turnover deficit is one big takeaway from slow start #106498InvaderRamModeratorto differential huge.
maybe the biggest problem for this team???
dunno.
InvaderRamModeratori’m worried about this game. a better oline and a full strength gurley would make me feel better.
so… yeah.
InvaderRamModeratormight not be a bad idea.
have a second set of eyes on the offense and goff.
what experience does gruden have developing qbs?
the only thing is he’d probably bolt for the next hc offer.
InvaderRamModeratorhe was good. he was exceptional at times. and then two dropped passes that were right in the receivers’ hands. a freak interception. and then after all that he still got them in position for a winning fg.
and i still think he’s gonna get better. not even close to reaching his potential. i keep saying it, but this guy is a tough dude. he’s gonna take this season and it’ll make him a better qb in the end.
i’m pretty sure.
InvaderRamModeratori wonder if this means ogbo will be activated.
InvaderRamModeratorthey lost to a team with a special special qb. on the road. one of the most hostile road venues in the nfl.
and they had a chance to win at the end. so you know. this team obviously has flaws. but they showed a mental toughness i think.
the tight ends get in the flow
this needs to happen. everett is magic with the ball in his hands. higbee is a big target. maybe this is the solution to the way defenses have been playing the rams? dunno.
InvaderRamModeratorThey did show some stuff on the road in Seattle.
yeah. tough road game with a chance to win at the end.
kupp and everett let goff down on the second to last drive. i think the stats don’t do goff justice on this one. terrible luck on that int. and two dropped passes on that second to last drive.
some bad defense. bad tackling.
it’s gonna be a tough season.

InvaderRamModeratorPFF LA Rams@PFF_Rams
No quarterback has been pressured on more dropbacks this year than #LARams Jared Goff
Through 4 weeks, Goff has been pressured on 80 dropbacksdefinitely the oline needs to get better.
but i think both things are true.
the oline needs to get better and goff needs to get better when he’s under pressure.
i’d invest in oline in next year’s draft.
InvaderRamModeratorthis was bound to happen. things had been going too well for goff the past 2 seasons. at some point things around him were going to fall apart. i knew at some point this was going to happen.
so has he regressed? ok. well no. he obviously hasn’t gotten worse at football. he hasn’t forgotten how to play. but. now certain things about goff have been exposed. 24th in passing under pressure isn’t good enough. this has always been a weakness. it’s just that now it’s being exposed. and it’s something he has to improve on to progress as a qb. this isn’t the worst thing. he’s gonna be 25 this month. i mean. it’s not a sin to have some holes in your game at 25 years old. it just means he’s gotta grind and push through and learn from these games. there’s nothing up until now that says he can’t or won’t.
and i don’t buy what simms says. goff was the 5th best qb in the nfl with a clean pocket but only 24th facing pressure last season. that’s a big dropoff. it needs to improve. i’m not saying he has to be just as good against a pass rush vs a clean pocket. i’m just saying he can’t be 24th among all qbs against pressure.
maybe it already has improved. but i wanna see the stats. i don’t really watch other games, so it’s hard for me to make the comparison. but he’s gotta be better compared to other qbs. maybe simms talked about that. i only listened half way. but until i see stats that show he’s improved against a pass rush, i’m not buying it.
InvaderRamModeratorgoff’s gotta learn how to play better under pressure. yes. every qb drops off against pressure. and i wouldn’t expect him to play as well as he would when he’s not under pressure. but 24th isn’t good enough.
but as i’ve said. qbs go through growing pains. and goff is far from a finished product. nor is he some transcendent talent like a mahomes. i think he’ll come out becoming a better qb. he’s as tough as they come.
InvaderRamModeratorisn’t this around the time that donald really starts to get going?
he’s had some good games against seattle. hopefully, he can have another one tomorrow.
October 1, 2019 at 11:21 pm in reply to: tweets & other bits … 10/1 & 10/2 (includes VB Q&A) #106082InvaderRamModeratorSo, GOff might have had his best game since the NFCC–damn the stats and people moaning.
that’s not really saying much.
i think he’ll be fine though.
look at mahomes on sunday. and while he did lead kansas city to a come from behind victory, he almost threw an int to give the game away in the last 2 minutes.
goff is struggling a little bit, but i also think he comes back from this.
InvaderRamModeratori think it was ok. not as bad as others say it was. of the 3 ints. one was a tipped ball i believe. the other was on 4th down. he made some outstanding throws. but he was also a little erratic. especially in the first half.
but i don’t think it was one of his better performances. and i can’t believe that this is only down to the oline. these struggles have been evident since last season.
i do think he’ll adjust.

InvaderRamModeratori’d prefer to see goff fumble it no more than 12 times over a season. he’s already got 4. he’s on pace for 16.
so. we’ll see.
but it has to improve. he’s just gotta make quicker decisions and be more aware. i mean it’s good to a certain degree that he isn’t focused on the pass rush. he’s a tough guy. but sometimes you just gotta make a decision and just get it out of your hands quickly.
plus those tiny hands don’t help one bit.
InvaderRamModeratorturnovers. -3 in turnovers. gotta take care of the ball.
gotta cause turnovers.
InvaderRamModeratorthings i keep repeating to myself.
gurley will get better as the season goes on. gurley will get better as the season goes on.
goff will get better as the season goes on. goff will get better as the season goes on.
the defense is not as bad as they looked today. the defense is not as bad as they looked today.
seriously though. i thought everett looked good today. they really should find ways to get him the ball more often.
as far as goff. yes, he’s dealing with an oline that is struggling. that only explains so much. he’s just a little off on his accuracy. maybe some of that is having to deal with the pressure. sure. but some of it is him as well. but i think he’ll get better. he’s a tough kid.
as it is. he’s third in passing yards. so that’s something. his accuracy isn’t the worst. he’s only ranked 20th in passing accuracy, but i seriously doubt some of these guys can keep up their percentages over an entire season. he’s 22nd in ypa. again. not sure all the guys above him can maintain their averages. and i think that his ypa will go up at some point. i hope. his main problem is not throwing enough tds and throwing too many ints.
gurley is on pace for 1124 yards from scrimmage. i figured he’d finish the season with 1700 yards from scrimmage. he’s got 3/4 of a season left to get 1419 yards. even if he got 1219 yards, he’d finish with 1500 yards from scrimmage which i think is totally doable. especially if the oline continues to jell.
InvaderRamModeratorah so it’s fake. i guess it’d be expecting too much from them to actually have gotten it right.

InvaderRamModeratorhmmm…
i like it.
InvaderRamModeratorso i take that as being mcvay making adjustments. players also getting into the rhythm of the game.
but overall you also add in the fact that the oline is still jelling.
goff is still adjusting to nfl defenses adjusting to him.
gurley has slowed down a bit.
and on top of that i still believe that gurley’s usage will increase as we get toward the end of the season. he’s still pretty durn good although maybe not as explosive as he once was.
it’s just a lot of things happening at once. they’ll get better. how much better is the question i guess.
ooh. but that defense. that defense is pretty durn good.
InvaderRamModeratorI don’t know if I’d say he’s been forgotten about, but I think Steven Jackson is severely underrated. We don’t talk enough about how his 2006 season is one of the greatest RB performances of all-time. Over 1500 yards rushing, 13 TDs, 90 receptions and over 800 yards. Incredible
his two big problems.
1. playing on a horrible team.
2. injuries. didn’t miss too many games but was always playing with little injuries.InvaderRamModeratorwell. he no longer looks like the guy who could rip off 50+ yarders at any moment.
but i do suspect his touches will start to increase when we get into the second half of the season.
InvaderRamModeratorso this guy was released by the jets after giving him a one million signing bonus and then cut again a month later by the seahawks?
ehhh… are they trying to glean whatever info they can on the seahawks maybe?
InvaderRamModeratorwatching the game for the first time right now.
he isn’t that far off. goff that is.
some bad decisions by him. some dropped passes.
i think this season is gonna be a period of growing up for goff.
i do expect him to finish in the top third in passer rating though this year. if he doesn’t, i think there’d be legitimate reason to be worried.
September 24, 2019 at 1:46 am in reply to: VB: Donald’s dominance, Goff’s struggles, & other takeaways from Rams-Browns #105577InvaderRamModeratorif goff finishes the season outside the top 12 in passer rating, i will be disappointed.
- This reply was modified 5 years, 1 month ago by InvaderRam.
InvaderRamModeratorehh. i’m not worried yet. like i’ve said. qbs typically regress around this stage of their development. statistically that is.
defenses have had time to study them and probe them for weaknesses. qbs then have to adjust.
i believe goff will.
unless you’re just a preternatural talent like a mahomes.
September 22, 2019 at 8:14 pm in reply to: interested in any other games today? … + gameday tweets from around the NFL #105504InvaderRamModeratorGiants got a lot of crap thrown their way for drafting him too.
Big vindication.
i didn’t realize this before, but i was reading through his combine profile.
he was coached by david cutcliffe – who also coached both peyton (at tennessee) and eli (at ole miss). supposed to a be a qb whisperer.
