training camp is coming! training camp is coming!
…
monday!!!
InvaderRamModeratorhappy birthday!
InvaderRamModeratoryeah there’s a cerebral part to his game that is underappreciated. let the playmakers make the plays. laurinaitis just puts them in positions to make plays.
InvaderRamModeratorthat’s good to hear even if it’s just coach speak. if nothing else, i like the fact that this oline is young and with potential rather than old and with injuries.
InvaderRamModeratorthey should just pick another flag and use it to represent southern pride. they could have a contest and pick a winner. and turn it into a reality show.
an aside note. i wonder what flag the robots will raise when they rule earth. and i wonder what flag the humans will raise in opposition…
seriously though. this is a very difficult subject matter with no real easy answers. good discussion.
InvaderRamModeratorthey should make a reality show out of this with fisher and boudreau as the hosts.
the search for the next rams offensive line…
InvaderRamModeratori keep forgetting about this guy.
ya ever get that feeling that everything is coming together at the right time? could we finally be in for some winning times as a rams fan?
InvaderRamModeratora lot of people have given up on jones. but he’s only 25 years old. he’s finally healthy although he played in limited spurts last year.
character wise he’s through the roof. he’s played in some of the biggest games in college football. he’s smart. tough. he’s spent the last two years developing under one of the best oline coaches in the league.
i’m thinking starting center in 2015 if he can stay healthy.
InvaderRamModeratorand mind you this is back in the 70s. nowadays. lawyer probably advises him to fess up to nothing.
Well forget the lawyers — why in the world would HE admit to something like that? He didnt have to. Makes zero sense to me.
None. He could have easily lied or made up a story or fudged it in a gazillion ways.w
varrogance? narcissism? not really sure.
this dude was a nutcase. i read somewhere that in a settlement with one of the victims, he only agreed to pay the woman if she graduated from college and maintained a 3.0 gpa…
???
you rape someone and then tell that person she needs to prove to you that she deserves that money???

InvaderRamModeratori often wonder if any of this matters as i believe that humans will find a way to fuck it up regardless.
InvaderRamModeratorthe only thing i can think of is that when bill was asked if he gave them the ludes unknowingly, his lawyer stepped in and told him not to answer the question. so there is no way of proving that he drugged them without their consent?
InvaderRamModeratorthat was a very good read.
albert is the very definition of a physical freak. that gets tossed around too often. but he really was.
but all the other stuff outside of the game. you know it goes on. but to hear it first hand is a trip.
InvaderRamModeratori want to see a qb rating around 90. and i want to see 25 touchdown passes this season.
InvaderRamModeratorthe two players i’ll be watching most on defense this year are donald and mcdonald.
after that i’d say gaines and ogletree…
InvaderRamModeratori really don’t know if it’s the system necessarily…
i think it’s just humans. or maybe rather it’s just nature. it’s a cruel world we live in.
i think a lot of things have to change. gun control is just one of a long list of things that needs to be fixed.
it’s just never going to happen.
InvaderRamModeratorsounds like she was very loved. be well. and your family as well.
June 27, 2015 at 12:08 pm in reply to: Will Todd Gurley be ready to go? plus thoughts on Clowney #26818InvaderRamModeratoron peterson it should be noted. he tore both his acl and mcl. so by limited accounts, peterson had a more severe injury.
furthermore. peterson’s was a contact injury. while gurley’s was non-contact. i don’t know if that makes a difference or not either way.
InvaderRamModeratormoved to st. louis in 1993 to go to college. a couple years later the rams moved to st. louis, and i finally found my first home football team. they also just happened to be going through one of the worst periods of futility in nfl history, but it didn’t matter. kinda felt like we almost moved to st. louis together and maybe that’s why i remain so loyal – some of the best years of my life were spent in st. louis. i’m a fan of the st. louis cardinals too, but it doesn’t quite compare to my love for the rams. interestingly enough the 3 states i’ve spent the majority of my life in are ohio, missouri, and california. just like the rams! i’ve moved around since then, but i’ve remained a fan for 20 years now.
InvaderRamModeratorit’s a good gamble i think. foles seemed to be plagued with the same problems last year that bradford faced when he was healthy.
as long as the rams can field a healthy offensive line. and the running game is good to great. foles should be at least adequate as a starting quarterback. and the rams have some time to see if mannion or another quarterback can be better. or maybe foles proves better than adequate. i like it. i honestly was looking forward to 2015 but with one eye on 2016 wondering what they were going to do at qb. if they can do this. IF. i’ll feel a lot better.
InvaderRamModeratori was reading about the kaepernick contract. and due to the language, it’s more like a 2 year contract with an out after that.
i’d do something along these lines. 5 year contract. with maybe an out after 3 years or so.

InvaderRamModeratorhow many years are qbs getting these days? would you give him a 5 year contract? more?
InvaderRamModeratoris that pretty standard nowadays for first round picks? guaranteeing every single dollar of the contract?
InvaderRamModeratorA relatively good article acknowledging the gap between potential and performance.
I however see little evidence of diagnosis of the causes that led to the problems.
For example this:
Their vaunted defensive line, a unit some thought could set a league record for sacks actually set a record for sack futility, with just one in the first five games.
This sentence OUGHT to be jaw-dropping. It ought to knock people off their feet. And it screams for diagnosis and responsibility.
Haven’t heard it yet from anyone on the Rams.
personally, i don’t expect them to address it publicly. but as long as they take care of it internally, i’ll be satisfied.
but yeah. i was disturbed by that at the beginning. i think that’s on williams. i really hope fisher reigns him in a little this season.
talk is cheap. defense needs to start showing it on the field.
i still hold out hope that finally having the same coordinator for two seasons in a row will make some sort of difference.
InvaderRamModeratorspeaking of combined yards. i’d like to see 1500 all purpose yards from tavon in 2015. at least.
InvaderRamModeratori like him. i think a fully healthy jones wins the job easily.
InvaderRamModeratori do remember that.
i also seem to remember chris long and some of the linemen doing mixed martial arts to help improve their flexibility.
we might not see results directly, but i’m hoping we see improvement in things like run defense. or just seeing the guys around him get better at rushing the passer due to his presence.
InvaderRamModeratorI actually think that the Rams are getting into a 49ers before Harbaugh position. If they hired a new coach, and it was a competent hire, then, they would be set to make a real run.
i’ve been thinking the same thing.
if fisher leaves. for whatever reason. the new coach will be going into a real good situation. should be a very attractive opportunity. has to be the right hire though.
i personally like fisher. i like his style. i realize it’s not for everyone though. i do wonder, however, if he’s good enough to win the super bowl.
InvaderRamModeratori’ll say this for fisher and snead. they’ve added a whole helluva lot of talent to this roster. the rgiii trade was brilliant. they’ve got a defense stocked with explosive athletes. a strong backfield (at least on paper). they managed to trade for a solid qb prospect.
not so great at wide receiver. but then. that’s pretty much met my expectations considering this is fisher. still. there’s some promise there as well as on the offensive line.
have to get the results on the field though.
InvaderRamModeratorhas brockers reached his ceiling? or is there some break through ready to happen?
he’s only 24. about 5 months older than aaron donald. he came into college as a linebacker. came out as a defensive tackle.
i’ll be interested to see how much better this guy can get.
