Bentley has more time he can spend with GR.
yes. also very important. plus i believe he was recovering from toe surgery last offseason.

InvaderRamModeratorbentley probably doesn’t have anything different to offer than boudreau. but hopefully robinson’s commitment has changed. that could be the difference that leads to a breakthrough year?
InvaderRamModeratorinteresting. i think rgiii’s main problem was and is staying healthy. the reports about attitude problems are overblown. get him reps and play to his strengths and he can be a player. as long as he can stay healthy.

March 31, 2016 at 7:19 pm in reply to: 2016 mocks & rankings & general draft commentaries, thread 2 #41283InvaderRamModeratorThere is not a large difference between the talent available at 15 or 43 and 45 in this year’s draft.
Maybe we should take a QB at 15. Get the fifth year option to develope him.
not a bad idea. i think the only mistake they could make is trading up.
March 30, 2016 at 8:45 pm in reply to: going back a year: Connor Cook, Kevin Hogan two to watch in solid 2015 QB class #41261InvaderRamModeratorI just thought I would look at some stuff from last year, in case the Rams don’t go with plan A, B, or C of the fans popular ideas to trade up for a QB.
Randy Karraker said about a month after the draft, that the Rams would have take Cook at #10, over T Gurley.
interesting. question is how do they rank cook with the other qbs in this draft. do they rate lynch over cook?
March 30, 2016 at 7:44 pm in reply to: Wagoner: Rams need instant receiver help but draft might not offer it #41260InvaderRamModeratori’m a big believer in doctson. i think of larry fitzgerald when i read about him.
size, explosiveness, large catch radius, soft hands. wouldn’t be disappointed at all if the rams drafted him.
March 30, 2016 at 6:04 pm in reply to: audio: Laurinaitis on the Saints & regrets from time w/ the Rams #41254InvaderRamModeratorthe rams will miss his leadership though. organization of the defense.
unless ogletree can assume those responsibilities the rams are in trouble.
i’d actually be pleasantly surprised if the rams traded up and picked jack.
InvaderRamModeratori’m not opposed to taking a qb either. i just think there’s various ways to go about this. just depends on how the draft shakes out.
i will say this. i feel a lot more comfortable about the offensive players in this draft than i did a couple weeks ago the more and more i read.
InvaderRamModeratorI may be in the minority among Rams fans but I would rather they not take a QB in this draft. I’d rather use those picks to fill the holes of guys they’ve lost in free agency. And on offense–improve the line and receivers.
I’m fine with Case starting and Mannion developing as his back up for now. Maybe Foles has a miracle resurrection. Chasing an elite QB comes at a cost. I’m not sure it’s worth it at this point and time. As for the later rounds–I’d rather they bring in depth at other positions.
I may rethink that if that’s what happens and all the QBs melt down. But I’m sticking with it for now.
i certainly am not opposed to drafting doctson in the first round and then adding a hunter henry in the second to give keenum some more support. and even if keenum isn’t the answer maybe mannion steps up. then spend the rest of the draft finding a free safety and lbs and d linemen.
March 29, 2016 at 7:04 pm in reply to: How the Rams might be setting up to actually land a decent quarterback #41217InvaderRamModeratorit’s all smoke being blown by the rams. the rams are going to draft a quarterback.
InvaderRamModeratorif jared cook goes on and has a 1000 yard season with green bay i’ll vomit.
Apparently teams value measurables over performance. When they see Cook they see his size and speed and the length of his arms but fail to see the drops. Often those drops have cost the Rams games. Cook has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory more than once with his inconsistency.
Or maybe they think they can ‘fix’ him. Even though this is a pattern established over 7 seasons so I doubt it’s fixable.
i’m mostly joking but thompson and mccarthy seem to be pretty competent. probably won’t happen but it’d hurt if they could get out of cook what the rams could not.

InvaderRamModeratornice big hands. i read earlier that his hands measured at 11 inches. but nfl.com lists them as 10 1/4″.
i’m starting to warm up to the idea of the rams drafting him in the first round. a big strong armed qb who can run a little.
i’d even be happy if they drafted doctson. there should be plenty of options there.
InvaderRamModeratori was a little surprised by the cut but not too disappointed. i just hope ogletree can handle the leadership void left behind.
InvaderRamModeratori still maintain that i don’t think griffin has any inherent character flaws. i think a lot of it is just a maturation process.
browns may have found themselves a steal.
InvaderRamModeratorwell we all know elway had a feud with reeves.
but apparently he had a feud with shanahan as well?
Mile High Feud: John Elway and Mike Shanahan Still Have a Beef, but Why?
InvaderRamModeratorthe one that really hurts is mcleod. i don’t know how they replace him unless joyner is ready.
InvaderRamModeratorit should be better. as should the confidence in his knee increase.
InvaderRamModeratori think matt waldman put it well. he said something about not just beating the first man but using his vision to think several moves ahead to beat the defenders at the next level. faulk has talked about that as well.
unreal vision. hopefully he can stay healthy.
InvaderRamModeratoryikes. am i gonna have to watch this show?
InvaderRamModeratorso you can cross quarterback off the browns potential first round draft pick. that would leave dallas and san francisco as the only teams above the rams who need a qb. possibly only san francisco. although maybe now dallas is in contention to pick wentz. and then goff to san francisco?
InvaderRamModeratori would be fine with that. at least it would push the other qbs down the draft.
March 21, 2016 at 7:04 pm in reply to: should Rams trade up for a qb? audio link, Colin Cowherd #40876InvaderRamModeratorno trade up is my feeling. if anything they should trade down. i’d rather they trade down any maybe draft doctson as their new starting wr. grab a qb further down in the draft and let him duke it out with keenum, foles, and mannion for starting qb.

March 18, 2016 at 11:49 am in reply to: Jon Gruden's QB Camp w/ Case Keenum 2012 (has morphed into "the keenum thread") #40776InvaderRamModeratorso would you still take a qb in first round or go wr, ag?
InvaderRamModeratormy feeling is that this will be an unpredictable draft. would that be accurate?
InvaderRamModeratorat this point i’m thinking i prefer doctson over treadwell.
InvaderRamModeratori don’t think they’re good value at #15. that’s the problem for me. if they don’t go dt, they should trade down and pick a wr.
InvaderRamModeratorWe are not just looking for a TE, we are trying to replace Cook.
all joking aside having a rich man’s jared cook would be huge for this offense.
ha!
then again. having a great wr would do wonders too. just sucks that this draft is weak at both positions.
InvaderRamModeratoryeah. dt, wr, qb. they should be able to find one of each with the first three picks.
i’d also look at tight end although this year’s class isn’t the strongest at that position.
InvaderRamModeratori still want them to get another tight end. harkey is a good role player but they need a guy who can catch too.
