ParticipantGood. I would rather have a brokers for the next three years then a pick at the end of the fourth round.
Hram
ParticipantI am going to guess yes to a truncated football season but with the majority of those games having no fans in the stadium.
To Waterfield’s point, that would make it a good year to dump all your potential salary cap losses.
Go in strong the year after with the additional draft choices and some extra money.
Hram
ParticipantI’m a fan of weird and quirky 🙂
Hram
ParticipantIf they can draft in the top 20 with a class that we all expected to need a redshirt year in the first place, then why not trade early pics for proven players.

ParticipantHealthy Oline with, perhaps, one more addition to it. I think that is all they really need.
January 9, 2020 at 9:22 pm in reply to: Is McVay going to adequately replace both Wade & Bones? #110238Hram
ParticipantMcVay is not an idiot. Neither is the GM.
Trust the process.
Hram
ParticipantI like Wade, he had a tremendous career.
Sometimes it is just time.
It was time, imo.
It will be interesting to see where they go from here. There should be plenty of defensive coaches eager to join the Rams if they choose to go outside the organization for the hire.
Hram
ParticipantThe two TEs we have can be just as devastating imo.
I keep Cooks this year because of the contract. I simply recommend they play more two TEs with Woods on the field most of the time. The other WRs can rotate to stay fresh and bring something different into the game as matchups and adjustments dictate with some periodic 3 WR sets.
Hram
ParticipantI agree with Billy. They should play two TEs more (they are both really good receivers) and cooks less. Cooks seldom fights for the ball let alone successfully fight for it.
Hram
ParticipantYep, we keep Gurley one more year.
How many more years does Donald have left before he starts slowing down? Three? Four? Anyone know what average is for a dlinemAn? A penatrating one?
Someone like Sapp

Higbee becomes the fourth TE since 1970 to go 100+ in four straight….
…. Oh, also, no TE has gone 100+ receiving yards in 5 straight. Higbee can set a record.
If you recall, Higbee went 7-107-1 vs ARI.
=============================Well its been a rather strange season. Back when the Rams were 3-0, who would have predicted, that by game 16, the opposing team’s would be saying, “We have to find a way to stop Higbee”
w
vLOL!
Hram
ParticipantI think Ramsey brings some juice to the team.
I think Weddle stays another year and the coach on the field is worth what we lost.
I think we have some good younglings on the Oline. Need to draft two more this year.
I think Gurley May never regain his step. Small possibility the knee really didn’t hurt much this year and he’ll be stronger next year. My money is he is only on the team two more years until his cap hit comes down.
I think we can upgrade from Cooks. Might have to keep him another year until the cap hit comes down.
I think McVay does need an OC.
I think it likely it is time for Wade to retire.
I think they should keep Fowler if there is any way to do it.
I think the team is close and will be competitive next year. Need a few tweaks and some renewed energy.
Hram
ParticipantThey were competitive.
Just enough misses here and there.
Pick six
Missed FG
Long kickoff return
Blown coverageNeed a little stronger Oline play and to tighten us these little misses next year.
Hram
ParticipantThat was ugly
Hram
ParticipantI like Blythe at center. He just seems to hold his own better there.
I’d be very surprised if the younguns on the Oline hold up over the next three games. They are young and liable to have a bad game.
I hope I’m very surprised.
Hram
ParticipantDefense was fabulous the whole game.
Offense was fabulous half the game.
Glad to see more use of the play action rollout and the hand offs to wide receivers.
Young Oline keeps playing like this and we may be pretty good for a while.
Hram
ParticipantI like this team.
They waited to fix the Oline one year too late for this year to be great. But, you can’t fix everything at once and this 3 year run is pretty darn good.
Oline should be better next year as the younguns mature. I would not be surprised to see them draft two next year as well. One in the 2nd to 4th and another in the 5th-7th.
I believe their window is still open for several more years.

ParticipantI just don’t see it as much of a loss. I don’t know what he could have been thinking on that last return.
Hram
ParticipantOuch
Hram
ParticipantWinning ugly is better than losing!
Hram
ParticipantBe oh line was not a strength going into this year and then they lost some guys. If no one had gotten injured, they would probably be OK right now.
They should be able to fix it next year as they seem to have some good young talent, but I am not holding my breath for this year.
Hram
ParticipantTrue, provided everything else remains the same.
And a missed field goal earlier means you had to go for a touchdown on the 2nd to last drive.
And…
Bottom line is anything even slightly better than mediocre line play and we win by two scores, IMO.
Hram
ParticipantThere is no way to explain the ball traveling forward 10 yards except that golf threw it forward with at a minimum a flick of the wrist.
Having said that the reason we lost this game is the oline play.
Hram
ParticipantPitt defense is really good.
Rams Oline is not.
Goff made some inaccurate throws particularly early.
Rams D is pretty decent.
Doubt we make the playoffs.
Need to fix the Oline this offseason.
November 5, 2019 at 10:50 am in reply to: rams 5-3 at the bye…how do you see them ending up & why #107785Hram
Participant11-5 and a wildcard.
Bye came at a good time. Defense gets better and Oline is good enough and improving.
Hram
ParticipantGood to know and that gives me hope
Hram
ParticipantI’m going with Dan Fouts
October 21, 2019 at 5:05 pm in reply to: (must read?) Ramsey removed handcuffs from Rams’ defense #107105Hram
ParticipantAnd Atlanta has a good OL. Their LOT for example is Jake Matthews, the guy everyone says the Rams should have taken instead of Robinson. That offense was 2nd in the league in passing before Sunday.
….
=====================
Well, they sure didnt look like a good OL. They looked awful.
w
vI have this fantasy that they looked awe full because the rams coverage and pass rush completely turned the corner in one week and are suddenly the next best thing to the 85 bears.
It could happen…
Actually, if Fowler continues to improve, they might end up being pretty good. 🙂

October 18, 2019 at 6:44 pm in reply to: Zone versus Man coverage: Shouldn't the Rams have known about Peters? #106895Hram
ParticipantBilly, I agree with your thoughts except the Adelman piece. From what I am read he is better with the outside wide receivers and not as good with those who operate more in the slot. Rest of your points ring true to me
