ParticipantLove this quote
“for the first time in his career, Zeke did not look like the best running back on the field”

ParticipantYeah extremely dumb. I mean, this is a professional football worth billions of dollars. Whoever made that decision should be dismissed.
They should just use the old helmets and pants untiil they can match the jerseys.

ParticipantI don’t see any weaknesses in Mcvays coaching style as of yet. I though that he was going to be pass happy, but he’s not. That’s another post though
Herzog
ParticipantI see, he plays Donald’s position on the other side. Man, I really like what I saw. Not much on Quinn, did he just not play well?
Herzog
ParticipantThat quote bothered me too. Whatever it meant, I’ll suspect that second half of the game can be teaching point. “look guys, this is what happens when you do it the way I told you.”
Herzog
ParticipantDonald wrecked havoc. I guess the rust is off.
Brockers is a BEAST.
I don’t really get what his role change is, but me like! I hope they keep it that way.Herzog
ParticipantNo problem

ParticipantI still believe that him not knowing the system is hurting the defense more than helping it.
Herzog
Participanta bottom 5 or 6 qb? Screw this guy. He’s smart though.
Herzog
ParticipantI love McVay. I have the feeling he’s one of those guys that seriously lives, eats, and breathes football. Like he barely knows what’s going on in the world other than football. I mean, he’s probably on the crapper thinking about how to set up plays with other plays, and how to be a leader of men.

ParticipantYeah, that was impressive.

Participant10 days between games is just brutal. I hate this waiting.
Herzog
ParticipantHmmmm. I dunno. I suspect the D wont get fixed this year, and i am skeptical they are even gonna get much better at all this year.
Somethin just looks ‘seriously’ wrong to me.
I have that fear, too.
I sure hope I’m wrong.
But it looks like Giunta. Big holes, and sloppy tackling.
Ouch. Giunta bad?
Herzog
ParticipantI feel like they can win. They have already showed me enough in the first three games to show that they aren’t just getting lucky.
A note about the defense: I hear the players talking about “maintaining gap integrity” and “trusting the system instead of just falling on old habits”.
I remember some of the same things being said when Spags first implemented his system and GW implemented his. I feel like it’s just a system change thing. It isn’t muscle memory yet. The defense should get better, especially in the last half of the season.
I am very optimistic about this team. My biggest concern is giving games away. They make too many mistakes, and you can’t do that against a Dallas team or a Washington team.
If they continue to give possessions away, than it’s going to be another long season.

Participanttimes have changed man. I don’t think Manning’s 2nd year numbers gets anyone into the pro-bowl in today’s NFL.
Herzog
ParticipantMan….Is this like a big deal? I hope not.

ParticipantJust one thing to say. If it’s voluntary, and has been voluntary….then why do you care if it’s done or not.
Seems like a contradiction.Herzog
ParticipantJenkins is so good
September 23, 2017 at 8:43 pm in reply to: NFL reportedly considering moving Chargers back to San Diego #74855Herzog
ParticipantNot being able to sell out the stub hub center…. that basically means that nobody in l.a. Gives a shit about the chargers.
Herzog
ParticipantThat lining up in the neutral zone has to stop. That’s just stupid
September 23, 2017 at 6:52 pm in reply to: NFL reportedly considering moving Chargers back to San Diego #74848Herzog
ParticipantTwo teams in L.A. Was such a stupid idea.
Herzog
ParticipantI don’t know why they would do better against Dallas. They could play better against the run than they have all season, and still have a worse overall performance against Dallas. Dallas allegedly has the best offensive line in the league, and they have Ezekiel Elliott.
Dallas is one of the best teams in football in my opinion. I think it’ll be a good measuring stick, but I don’t believe we can beat that team. Hope I’m wrong.
Herzog
ParticipantAlmost forgot about Coleman….. another Bills Alum. I guess we should credit Snead.
Herzog
ParticipantThe Bills are like a farm team for the Rams.
Herzog
ParticipantThe Bills had watkins, Woods And Goodwin. They had the pieces for a great offense. Maybe minus the coordinator and qb.

ParticipantVery interesting stuff. Very difficult to tell where Goff is going to go.
Herzog
ParticipantWell, it’s 1:30 am and I can’t sleep. I am excited by a great many things. Goff man…..GOFF. He just didn’t look like a Quarterback playing on the road. He looked completely at ease. Remarkable. The way his passes move through the air and find the spot where no defender can catch it. He has so many pass completions to guys that are double covered. It’s a special kind of accuracy that I haven’t seen in a long time. I’m not sure when I’ve seen it last.
Goff very clearly is going through his progressions, and a lot of those passes to Gurley are his last read.McVay used Kupp to pull defenders away from Watkins. All I can say about that is….watch out NFL defenses. Y’all are fucked! Mcvay is one smart dude. His attention to detail is going to cause some serious problems for defenses.
I never expected much from this team until game 5. I really didn’t think they’d hit their stride until game 8. That’s about how long I figured it would take for the new offensive and defensive systems to become muscle memory. For this reason, I am still optimistic about the defense. With the shortened training and mini camps, It is simply going to take longer for Wade to teach his thing. I have no doubt that he WILL.
Gurely. Just a beast. BEAST. LOVE HIM.
Special teams is the reason why this game was close. A muffed punt, muffed kickoff and a costly neutral zone encroachment all resulted in extra possessions for the niners. You can rarely win doing that bullshit. Then again, it was a Thursday game.
