I hope Nittany Ram was joking. Chris Long would have been of great benefit to the Rams defense because of his leadership and perhaps the Rams win the Dallas game and the first 49ers game.
Brian Quick was becoming a real weapon for this offense. Anyone who says differently is full of shit.
I feel if Sam Bradford could have stayed healthy we would have been much better off at QB and would have won more games.
Bradford does not lack talent and we were seeing in 2013 that he was coming into his own. 14 TDs vs 4 INTS at the midway point in 2013. In fact he was looking good up until he re-inured his knee this past summer. I just do not see where you benefit from bringing in a rookie QB and throwing him to the wolves. I think the Rams have to bring Sam back and make him the number one.
I have not seen anything out of Hill or Davis that makes me think they are any better an option right now for the Rams than Bradford. Austin Davis had a real opportunity to take the QB job permanently and he fucked it up royal. You have to have courage as a NFL QB and not worry about getting hit. Sorry Austin but I cannot stomach a QB who is so worried about getting hit by the rush that he’s not looking down field. I just don’t see how you broke all of Brett Farve’s records in school doing that.I think the Rams should draft a QB early this coming draft. But they need to keep Sam and he needs to compete for the starting job. I just do not see you having success in 2015 with a rookie at QB. Its time for this team to move on to the next level and start winning on a regular basis and I do not see that happening unless your able to maybe get a Phillip Rivers or Eli Manning etc and go from there. Bradford is the best answer at QB for this team otherwise in 2015.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantAnother view point which may seem chauvanistic and sexist is back in 1980 when Frontiere inherited the Rams from her dead husband most fans probably were not thrilled a woman was now the owner. Keep in mind that California is a very liberal state but other than the Morabito sisters in San Francisco, I think Georgia may have been one of two women ever to own a pro football team. They other being the woman who owned the Chicago Cardinals before they moved to St Louis in 1960.
Its a mans world in most fans viewpoint, owning an NFL team. Could be…..Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantThe Shut up LA you didn’t support them when you had them stuff is just hilarious. Another ignorant rube who has no clue about Rams history in LA and the support the team received. Stop focusing on the last four years the Rams were in Orange County and look at the overall stay in LA / OC. Also take a look at the last few years the Cardinals were in St Louis.
Those attendance numbers were far, far worse than anything LA.from 1990 through 1994 and especially 1993 and 1994 it was common knowledge the Rams were looking to move because Georgia simply did not like Orange County and she wanted to spite the fans who ridiculed her. In seeing what happened to the Dodgers while Frank McCourt was the owner and how the fans stayed away and how they have returned with the new ownership in place it is very apparent to me now that fans will stay away from a team’s home games if the owner is not liked or respected. Could have very well been the case regarding Georgia Frontiere in Southern California.

That would have been cool Joe! There was a booster club there from your neck of the woods. Central Coast Rams Boosters I think they were called. They have a an almost demonic looking Rams head on their flag.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantDespite the mistake Hill made at the end, I also want to point out that Hill actually showed a great deal of leadership in the 4th quarter when he twice led the Rams from 10 points down to be in the game.
I feel good about this team.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantSee, even the players can feel it.
I’ll make a prediction right here and now. I think this team runs the table on the last five games, I really do.
Sitting there in person on Sunday and watching that team play, it was apparent to me that this was not a fluke at all.
This team is ready to make their move. I think we can all legitimately go into the off season and into the 2015 season expecting really good things from the Rams on the playing field.Grits

It was a wonderful day. It was great being with all those Rams fans pour their hearts out for that team.
So sad the officiating was so subpar. We didn’t deserve that. Seems like we always get weird stuff happen to the Rams during these games in San Diego.Hill throwing that INT as we are so close to winning that game was a dagger in the heart. I’m sorry, I understand the point about no player loses a game by himself, but, this time I think fits. He had no excuse for throwing that ball and even he would tell you that. This team is so close to being good that we cannot afford screw ups like that.
Hill actually overcame a good deal of adversity to lead the team to the brink of winning. His passes to Bailey and then the clutch pass to Britt was amazing. Rams deserved a better fate than that damn interception at the end. The Chargers did not deserve to win that game and the Rams did.
I can see this team is finally turning the corner. If they go 9-7 they probably will not make the playoffs but, its all there, it really is. I think Fisher has this team on the right track, we just have to remain patient and stay the course with Fisher.
Again, meeting Dickerson and seeing Ferragamo again, as I have met him many times before was wonderful. Meeting Jim Thomas was great even if I often do not agree with his pro keep the Rams in STL viewpoint. He was very nice and showed a lot of class.
Its getting better folks it really is. And I whether the Rams are in LA, which I believe they will be or where ever, I think good times are ahead for Rams fans.

Stupid Question. You know damn well what I’m talking about but coming from you I’m not surprised at your response.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantGreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI’m sorry but it came down to what it did at the end of the game and the game was the Rams game to win. The only thing the Chargers could hope for is exactly what happened. Hill made an awful decision and it is on his shoulders.
He held the game in his right hand and and he gave it to the Chargers. No excuse.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantThere was a lot of good things in this game and you can see that Stedman Bailey and Tavon Austin are finally looking comfortable and becoming a big part of this offense. Still, this was the Rams game to win and that decision to throw that pass without any real pressure on him makes Hill look like an idiot.
This could have been a huge win for the Rams and next week they could have been playing for 500 with 4 games left after that.
Inexcusable is what that interception was and is. Hate to put all the blame on one player for that loss but in this case it is deserved and the goat horns belong to Hill. The more I think about what could have been and it makes me feel sick.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantWatched the DVR’d game last night and Hill’s decision to throw the ball looks even worse. He had time and was not pressured.
There was no need to blindly throw that pass.I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Hill is a awful QB. And as we saw during the game except for a few plays he was not very accurate. A lot of balls thrown especially to backs out of the back field were almost in the dirt and tough catches because of that.
I think Kellen Clemens would have won that game.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantAs much as it pains me to say this, knowing how iffy Bradford has been, I think the Rams should hold onto him but at a reduced salary. Tell him he can compete for the starting job but its not his job, he has to earn it. Then we should draft a Hundley or Petty etc. and if we can sign a good veteran. I don’t think Shaun Hill is the answer at QB.
If Fitzpatrick is available I would take him over Shaun Hill.Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantJim Thomas who I met there in the parking lot before the game told us that the Chargers informed him they sold 20,000 tickets to Rams fans for the game. Every where you looked in the stadium there was Rams jerseys. It was estimated the Rams fans were at least 40 percent of crowd of 66,000. that is pretty damn good representation. I was on the north side as well up in the nose bleeds in Section V 8. I was sitting next to a bunch of Rams fans up there as well. We definitely made huge statement as fans yesterday.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantWow, give Jim Thomas credit for coming out and mingling with us LA Rams fans on Sunday. Bernie, sounds like he was there but was not brave enough to come out and talk to us LA Fans. Not surprised really. Would not fit Bernie’s
myopic delussional world.Grits

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantBTW, we need to stick with coach Fisher. The team is getting there slowly but it is getting there.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantLooks to me like we have a solid defense again. But linebacker play needs to improve.
And looks like the offense is there if we have a good trigger man at quarterback. I think this team is really close to being a playoff team.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantWe tried, but a certain crew of official who I understand average an unbelieveable 19 penalites called a game took three scores away from us. And then Shaun Hill made bone head play be trying to force a ball over the middle when he didn’t have to when the Rams were poised to win the game.
All it all it was a great day. One big Rams party. LA Rams fans truly represented on Sunday. Jim Thomas who I talked to in person at the game said the Chargers told him they sold 20,000 tickets to Rams fans for the game. Pasadena Star News reported 40% of the fans were Rams fans. Mike Sando said all the TV shots of the game are of Rams fans.
We truly made a statement yesterday. Bring the Rams back home to LA.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantPlayoffs is not the important thing. Learning how to win is.
If they can go 9-7 or 10-6 and not make the playoffs well, I am happy because now we are seeing some consistency and that bodes well for the 2015 season. If we can see the Rams grow up and become a winning team, than just missing the playoffs is okay.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI think the same kind of game they played against Manning and the Broncos beats the Chargers. Both Broncos and Chargers are very similar in how they play offense and why not? Chargers head coach was Mannings OC is first year in Denver.
Rivers is a similar type of QB to Manning.Antonio Gates is Rivers security blanket. If they can take Gates away this should give them a good chance. Also, pressure, sacks and hits on Rivers is most important.
I think the Rams can utilize their TEs in this game against San Diego. I’d love to see the Rams stack their receivers in much the same manner the Patriots did versus the Colts last week.
Tre Mason should play a huge role in the offenses and team’s success.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI doubt very much we see Clemens next week unless he replaces Rivers during the game. Rivers is the QB who came off of knee surgery some years ago to play in a playoff game. Remember that Joe? Don’t discount River’s toughness.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI doubt very much the Rams will win 6 games in a row. They have not demonstrated they can put back to back wins together yet. For them to go on a 6 game streak would be miraculous.
That being said there isn’t a game the rest of the way they could not win.
12 Nov 23 STL @ SD Qualcomm Stadium (Toughest game this season for a number of reasons. Mistake free football and the same formula that beat Denver gets a win in SD.)
13 Nov 30 OAK @ STL Edward Jones Dome (Do not take the Raiders lightly. They’ve been close to a win the last two games)
14 Dec 07 STL @ WAS FedExField (Rams have a tough time winning in DC)
15 Dec 11 ARI @ STL Edward Jones Dome (Should have beaten the Cardinals two weeks ago if Davis doesn’t self destruct)
16 Dec 21 NYG @ STL Edward Jones Dome (The G-men and Eli are horrible but they were in the game against the 49ers until the last minute on Sunday)
17 Dec 28 STL @ SEA CenturyLink Field (If the Rams can come into this game on a 6 game streak with this being game 7 I think they can win it)
Its do-able. Hold your breath and cross your fingers and your toes.

.GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI don’t see how its not Bradford back for the final year of his contract. I really don’t. There is no other choice.
It for real will be Bradford’s make or break season. You know what the ironic thing is? If Sam for the first time in his career finally plays like he gets it and has a big year, then he’s a free agent and how much you wanna bet the Dallas Cowboys wouldnt come calling? Why not? Dallas is big time in Bradford’s home town and he probably grew up a Dallas fan.
He’ll still be a young 27 or 28 and in his prime.Might be the best thing for the Rams to draft a top college QB, Mariotta, Hundley etc., and get an offensive coordinator that understand progressive exciting offense. Something Schottenheimer never clued into.
Could you believe it the other night when Mark Sanchez called Shurmur a great offensive mind? Shurmur? Really?!
You know, the Rams could do a lot worse for a coach but why not a Jim Mora as coach. He has pro experience and was a DC on very good Niner teams under Walsh and Siefert. His Bruins team are very exciting on offense too.
Jon Gruden? Nope, he loves his TV gig too much. Same with Cowler. How about Todd Bowles the Cardinal DC?
How about anybody who will finally turn this team around. Here is something to think about. If he gets canned in Chicago, Mark Trestman is not a bad offensive coordinator. Pretty damn good in fact. How about Mark Trestman as the OC replacing Schittenheimer?

November 14, 2014 at 12:46 pm in reply to: Does anyone here believe we can beat Denver on Sunday? #11813GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI think the story of the game will be how many Bronco fans will be in the stadium versus Rams fans. After the events of the past couple weeks and the fact it sure looks like the Rams are moving and the story of Kroenke meeting with Mayor Butts of Inglewood the same day Tricky-Dick Jay Nixon was giving his presser, you may have the lowest turnout for a Rams home game ever. Unless of course they are there to see Manning and the Broncos.

November 14, 2014 at 12:43 pm in reply to: Does anyone here believe we can beat Denver on Sunday? #11812GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantMy guess, that this being November, Manning will be psyched to win this game and all the rest as losing in November and December does not bode well for the playoffs. I think Peyton will be paranoid about it.
My guess is he will blow the Rams out. It may be over by half time.
I have no faith in Shaun Hill. He’s just another journeyman backup. Rams are screwed.

November 12, 2014 at 7:06 pm in reply to: Does anyone here believe we can beat Denver on Sunday? #11738GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantYes, I do believe the Rams can beat Denver.
You put pressure on Manning and he is not nearly as effective. That has been proven over and over again throughout the years.
If the Rams can avoid the fumble or INT on offense and control the ball and score some points, plus play field position and good defense. Key being pressuring Manning and hitting him and sacking him.
Probablem with that is he gets rid of the ball very quickly. So, it may take some real exotic type schemes and blitzed to fool him.
