Plus head to head we beat #1 and #3, scorched AZ’s “No Fly Zone” for 3 TD’s and only gave up one on D and getting an int off Palmer against one of the top wr’s groups in the league and they’re number 1 ?

If this game gets down to who has the better OL right now, though…long day for the Rams.

When was the last time the Rams won 3 in a row? 2012. So at least it was within living memory.

    .

I don’t know ZN, Loadholt is out for the season C Sullivan had a setback after back surgery this is far from the OL that blew the Rams 2yds of the LOS last year. Kalil is doing better this year but Berger Fusco Clemmings that interior is pretty soft these days.

According to the most recent forecast that I looked at they’re expecting a high of 14 degrees Celsius and a low of 6 degrees Celsius on game day in Minneapolis. The game takes place on the 8th day of the 11th month of the year. The logical thing to do is to find the sum of the high temperature and the day of the month, and then find the sum of the low temperature and the 11th month of the year, 14+8=22 and 6+11=17.

The Rams defense racks up 11 safeties in a 22-17 win.

In non-Canookian the forcast is 57 and sunny S wind 10-20mph. I’m a couple miles from their practice facility so 65-52 in the USA translation I think the 11 safeties will still work.

    Catch percentage

This is for every WR and TE who has been with the Rams both years, and has had 20 or more targets.

    2014:

    Tavon Austin 70.5%
    Stedman Bailey 65.2%
    Kenny Britt 57.1%
    Jared Cook 52.5%
    Lance Kendricks 71.1%
    Brian Quick 64.1%

    2015

    Tavon Austin 61.5%
    Stedman Bailey 47.6%
    Kenny Britt 46.2%
    Jared Cook 54.3%
    Lance Kendricks 56.3%
    Brian Quick 40.0%

T.A. been hitting the JUGS machine this year and with Bailey and Quick getting so few targets , well really all the wr’s targets down. You drop one of two targets and you get huge swings in percentages. Bailey seems to me to be a guy that needs reps to get in the game, with TA and Gurley running their two man game so effectively Baileys opportunities are fewer and fewer.

I’ve been watching all the Vikings games reading their boards and some stuff that sticks out. Vikes fans in general regard both defenses equal, giving the DL some respect and with it a near constant “their secondary doesn’t scare me’ and generally claiming superiority in that area. I have no idea why, other than they have not seen a Rams game this season I mean we did pick off Rodgers twice ,Palmer ,Wilson etc. our cb’s have 4 picks theirs have a big fat goose egg and it’s not like they’ve played Rodgers at home either. They don’t seem to understand or maybe it’s accept that red zone defense and points allowed are different stats. The one thing they do have is they can come back because they’ve had to for the last 3 games at least. Of course this is just fans talking so it all means very little. My feeling is these fans have a new understanding of tough defense after this game. https://vimeo.com/10815350

Coach O is so knowledgeable on the coach-able stuff he makes some good points. I look at the one constant on offense over the last four seasons. It’s Fisher. Look at the offenses he had at TN and you see the same stuff coming up over and over. I can’t blame the OC because we’ve seen this now through how many OC’s ? Almost 16 years ago to try and tie/win the Super Bowl Fisher goes with a pass to a big strong physical wr best known for his blocking in the run game .

Didn’t like the Rams’ first offer ? They are notorious lowballers and know he will be getting high dollar offers in FA .I think they try hard to keep him but they are deep at cb and Safety and can’t keep everybody.

The Raiders are feeling pretty good about themselves about now.

Not really. People are turning the Raiders thing into urban legend. They said they thought the left shoulder needed surgery. In fact Saffold got that surgery. The Raiders said nothing about the right shoulder or RS’s injury history in general. They just said, no we don’t like his left shoulder. Assigning them this blanket insight isn’t accurate. If the left shoulder had already been surgically repaired they would have signed him. Then they would have been stuck with the later, different right shoulder injury.

I think maybe the Raiders are feeling good about themselves because they avoided being strapped to a very pricey contract with a player that cannot stay on the field rather than the “We told you so” angle. For the money they made the right decision.

We knew from the beginning he could run block, there is no debating his physical tools but the mental aspect is what’s effecting him. One on one, no stunting twisting blitzing he’holds his own, he is still playing high and getting away with it leaning on his physical advantage. The mental game is troubling for me. I do not see improvement others have seen but I’m no OL expert either. IMO the light has yet to go on in Pass Pro but watching him destroy people in the run game is enjoyable.

Yup they truly suck, worst line on a whole I can remember

    I beg to differ.

The injury massacred OLs of 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011 were far, far worse.

Not only were they bad, they had no hope whatsoever of getting better.

This OL at least shows in fits and starts that it is on the road to being a good one.

I don’t know if you could find stats for lines pressured by dropbacks that far back but in the NFL there is no “far , far worse.” than 32nd in the league.Plus with the obvious exception of perma-injured Saffold they are healthy ! I agree it can be fixed but the question for me is whether or not it will be.Luckily the schedule lightens up and the bye after the asswhippin they took in GB gives hope.

Foles had a terrible game but he did not get much help.

I don’t think anyone sees it differently.

But as I said, not giving the qb much help is an old old Rams story.

Yet nobody, not even Null or Boller, threw for 11 of 30 and 4 INTs.

So “no help for the qb” is like I said an old Rams story, but this one was especially bad by the qb on top of it.

And still I am not giving up on Foles. He can do it, we’ve seen it.

    .

What matter is it the age of the story? It’s still a problem. Who knows what other Ram qbs facing the beating Foles took would do. IMO most of them would have been knocked out of the game in the first half. If your point is “that happens all the time” I disagree .It wasn’t that bad against Seattle or the Cards.

I think there is more than enough blame to go around. Foles had a terrible game but he did not get much help. The rookies played pretty good it was Robinson Reynolds and Barnes that were historically bad on the OL particularly Robinson who had the worst game of his short career and sadly he is getting worse not better like he should be. Cook should be cut after that cowardly quit on the crossing route. Everyone else was playing hard the effort was there but not Cook. The guy does not fit the tough physical team template Fisher is trying to build.

Imagine what Gurley could do with a competent OL. I can’t blame it on the rookies either, they both looked to be better than Robinson ,Reynolds and Barns.

Great win! Watched on as good of stream as I’ve found with zero stops or breakups . That Gurley is something else running clock instead of scoring his first TD that’s Faulk smarts right there. He’s so smooth it doesn’t look like he’s running that fast but he’s just blowing by people ,fast people! Foles had me worried early but holy shit some of those throws were incredible. What’s the news of Ogletree ?

Fisher is an idiot when it comes to wr’s. Maybe wait until Quick actually plays a game or two. A two years into the future 7th on the youngest team in the league stacked with 1s and 2s doesn’t bode well for future Rams teams though it does strengthen his legacy of failure.

Givens is in his last year. He hasn’t done anything to earn a second contract here. So Givens is gone after this season anyway.

So far this season: 1 Rec 7 yds.

    Quick is better.

Quick is certainly better in this offense , a great blocker, should really help the struggling outside zone run scheme but they have an open roster spot and going up against the “no fly zone” Givens could’ve been a benefit running 9’s Givens lack of production wasn’t his fault. They just didn’t target him much , his career stats are close to double those of Quick’s if you are basing earning a contract on production. I can be happy for Givens knowing he’ll have Flacco’s cannon getting him the ball in the deep game he has been so effective in.

I would prefer if they full on tanked and Fisher is sent packing.4 years is enough of this for me. The window on this defense won’t last forever and Fisher to me anyway seems like he’s got all the time in the world ,zero urgency.

This team just needs a major shake up. A team ” built to run the ball” that cannot run the ball. It was pathetic and the Steelers are not a good Defense at all. When you hold the number one Offense in the NFL to 12 pts.
    you need to win.
