AgamemnonParticipantFISHER GOT A LITTLE TOO CUTE
It was bad enough Rams coach Jeff Fisher opted against trying to tie the game with his team facing fourth-and-goal at the Bills’ 4-yard-line with just under six minutes to play. But trailing 23-16 he opted for the sure three points to make it a one-score game.
In retrospect, why not go for it and try to knot the score? Worst-case scenario you’ve pinned the Bills inside their 5 with plenty of time to get the ball back.
That decision was bad enough.

It is time to put this argument to rest. It is a close call, but the percentages very slightly favor taking the 3 points. I would have taken the FG. I said so in game chat.
If it is 4th and 3, then you go for it. But, it is still a close call.

AgamemnonParticipantActually if not for the pick 6 that would have been Case’s best game. I don’t count that second INT after a desperation throw.
Overall he played pretty well. There’s just too much on his shoulders right now. Gurley got a wee bit on track today but according to Rich Gannon there are inherent flaws in the run blocking from a schematic standpoint. Of course, if the scheme is part of the problem the obvious question is if he sees it, why don’t Fisher and Boras?
I don’t know, but the Rams do seem to let defenders go unblocked alot.
I am not unhappy with Keenum’s play. In fact, I thought that overall the offense was better this game, better on 3rd down, better on ‘time of possession’, better on running, WRs catching the ball. The 2 turnovers killed them. imo
penalties 6-40
time of possession 35:34.
AgamemnonParticipantWell you make a good case.
I am OK with either call. Philosophically, I prefer rolling the dice without letting the other team have a turn. So, if the odds are close, I go for it.

AgamemnonParticipantWin Probability
4th Quarter, 2:00 remaining, trailing by 4,ball at team 20, 4th down & 4 to go:
Expected Points: -2.027
Win Probability: 20.59%This isn’t exact, but I think it is close enough. Here the rams go for it on 4 and 4.
—————————————————————————————————————————————–Win Probability
4th Quarter, 1:00 remaining, trailing by 4,ball at team 25, 1st down & 10 to go:
Expected Points: 0.607
Win Probability: 21.25%Here they punt and get the ball back with one more minute off the clock.
AgamemnonParticipantThe fake punt call was bad.
I wasn’t against the fake punt. If Buff gets the ball and they get one first down, the game is over. I like my chances of getting the first down as well as stopping them without a first down. If I can find the actual numbers, I will post them.

Rams release Coty Sensabaugh four games into three-year deal
By Alden Gonzalez
ESPN Staff WriterLOS ANGELES — The Rams released cornerback Coty Sensabaugh on Saturday, less than seven months after signing him to a three-year deal that was worth upward of $19 million.
To take Sensabaugh’s spot on the 53-man roster, the Rams promoted defensive lineman Morgan Fox from the practice squad.
Fox, an undrafted free agent out of Colorado State-Pueblo, dominated in the preseason finale against the Minnesota Vikings, with two sacks, two tackles for loss and four quarterback hits.
Now he’ll provide depth for a defensive line that could be without three starters for Sunday’s home game against the Buffalo Bills, with Will Hayes (ankle), Robert Quinn (shoulder) and Michael Brockers (hip) all questionable after barely practicing this week.
Sensabaugh will earn $4.5 million for his time with the Rams, a figure that includes a $1 million guaranteed base salary and a $3.5 million guaranteed roster bonus, according to ESPN’s Adam Caplan. Sensabaugh is also owed a $1 million roster bonus next March.
Coty Sensabaugh quickly was left without a role with the Rams and now he’s been left without a team after his release Saturday.
Sensabaugh had been left without a role and wasn’t even active this past Sunday. The 27-year-old came over after playing mostly as the inside corner on nickel packages during his first four years with the Tennessee Titans. But Lamarcus Joyner has thrived in that role with the Rams, and E.J. Gaines has returned from injury to start as the second outside corner, opposite Trumaine Johnson.
Sensabaugh started in Gaines’ spot during the season opener but was benched in favor of Troy Hill, an undrafted free agent, early in Week 2 and didn’t take a single snap on defense in Week 3. Sensabaugh then did not dress for the Week 4 matchup against the Cardinals from University of Phoenix Stadium.
Rams coach Jeff Fisher attributed that to injuries, prompting him to activate additional linemen to help on special teams and indicated that Sensabaugh could be active this Sunday.
.
“Coty has a role, and Coty’s done fine,” Fisher said then. But the Rams’ injuries on the defensive line, not to mention Sensabaugh’s own ineffectiveness in coverage, prompted a split.
Coty done fine.

AgamemnonParticipantI was wondering if they were going to make a move with Sens after he went from starter to not even activated.
You know, this is how bad they wanted to dump CS. It actually costs the Rams cap space to cut him. No savings; they take a 650,000 hit.

AgamemnonParticipantFor me, this is the first time since?, Fisher’s first year that the Rams have exceeded expectations. Almost every player is doing well. I won’t mention the run game.

I won’t mention penalties either.

I like it with fish too. I used to get Long John Silver’s fish and chicken planks to have both and fries. You need fries to change it from a snack to a meal.

Fine dining tonight.
I remember as a kid melting provolone cheese on them and eating them in a sandwich. They weren’t bad that way.
Oh, but I’m sure they’ll be just as good plain with salad greens.
I like chicken with malt vinegar and some hush puppies.
AgamemnonParticipantToday’s Football Fare:
My wife wants to make a philly cheese steak casserole thing this afternoon. She cooks about once every two weeks so I try to encourage her whenever she does. I’m not a big fan of philly cheese steak regularly because of the over the top fat content. I’ll pretend like I like it. Who knows, it might be good.
I’m kind sick of cooking. I made a four gallon batch of spaghetti sauce Friday that we canned yesterday and made two different batches of apple butter earlier last week. We gift most of it out to family and friends\neighbors for Christmas or whatever. I thought the garden was about done and then she picked two five gallon buckets of jalapeno, green, red, and banana peppers yesterday and also eight gallons of tomatoes. I’d been trying to ignore it the past week.
I’m going to start to make another last giant batch of salsa starting tomorrow morning. We’re talking like 70 to 80 pints. We have already made about 175 pints of salsa this year and also tomato sauce and juice and spaghetti sauce and tomato soup. Ready for the big freeze anytime now.
Last Sunday I made a regular batch of chili – then it took us three or four days to eat it. That’s a lot of fiber filled days.
That is a lot of work, but a lot of good food. I have done just a bit of blackberry and raspberry jams or jellys or whatever you call them and some nice dill pickles with grape leaves etc. But, grandmothers had tons of all kinds of stuff in the basement or root cellar. I do make some simple salsa and pickled red onions, but the way I do it, it isn’t really canning.
AgamemnonParticipant
AgamemnonParticipantcarnitas. yes. pork cooked in its own juices.
i’m jealous. i will probably just have some chips and guacamole.
or if i get out i’ll have me some chicken tawouk.
You guys must get out more than I do. You eat all these strange foods. Besides, cheeseburger/fries and pizza, what is there? OK, breakfast and pie. 😉
