    Well, 3-2.

They could have had that game except for mistakes, including the fumble, pick 6, and fake punt call. The fake punt call was bad.

Still valiant effort on defense given that they were depleted.

And, some signs of development from the offense, including more from Gurley.

I would have liked this win.

    On to Detroit.

Agree…seems like the O is getting more rhythm.

Still have serious concerns with the O-line especially Guards and Center. They are just bad up the middle.

Don’t think I saw a dropped ball from the WR crew today…they really were hauling the ball in.

Hopefully Tru is OK…this D will really miss him

That pick 6 took the wind out of their sails offensively and defensively. They got their mojo back in the 4th but they aren’t good enough to overcome mistakes.

I thought the comments about the flaws in the Rams blocking scheme were interesting.m

Worst part of this game was the injury to TruJo. It looked really bad.

The fake punt call was bad.

I wasn’t against the fake punt. If Buff gets the ball and they get one first down, the game is over. I like my chances of getting the first down as well as stopping them without a first down. If I can find the actual numbers, I will post them.

Come to the Los Angeles Rams–where quarterbacks go to melt down!

    Ugh.

Heard some on the radio earlier, watched what I could through RedZone.

I am not happy but I think the game represents more of what the team really is–more a .500(perhaps wild card prospect if things go well) team than a division leading team.

    Case with a bad game.

    Quick looks great.

The team simply can’t afford the injuries on defense.

The coaching decisions? Questionable, for sure.

All adds up to some 7-9 bullshit, perhaps.

If Johnson is out they have a MAJOR problem.

Honestly, I appreciate Case, I like Case but if this team is going to need offense to carry the defense for awhile, they can’t do it with field goals and pick sixes.

Do you wait for a total meltdown and a 3-5 or even 4-4 midway mark before you move on to Goff? Or do you just say, screw it and start the Goff era now? If you lose with him, at least he’s getting experience. If you lose with Case? I’m not sure what that gives you.

If Goff is hopelessly unprepared right now he should not be the #2. To me, that says he’s ready.

    Maybe it’s time.

    Win Probability

    4th Quarter, 2:00 remaining, trailing by 4,ball at team 20, 4th down & 4 to go:
    Expected Points: -2.027
    Win Probability: 20.59%

This isn’t exact, but I think it is close enough. Here the rams go for it on 4 and 4.

    4th Quarter, 1:00 remaining, trailing by 4,ball at team 25, 1st down & 10 to go:
    Expected Points: 0.607
    Win Probability: 21.25%

Here they punt and get the ball back with one more minute off the clock.

Keenum is late on so many of his passes he’s not seeing open guys and when he does they have to wait for the ball . He did some good stuff but a whole lot of bad stuff. So now we’re at the point of wondering if Keenum is our best chance for winning how terrible is Goff?

i didn’t have a problem with the call either. it was the right move.

i also agree that case was late on some throws. at the end they showed how he missed a wide open receiver. maybe he’s not seeing things well.

but my bigger concern i think is the oline. maybe i’m seeing things wrong but it looks like a mess right now.

    Case with a bad game.

Actually if not for the pick 6 that would have been Case’s best game. I don’t count that second INT after a desperation throw.

Overall he played pretty well. There’s just too much on his shoulders right now. Gurley got a wee bit on track today but according to Rich Gannon there are inherent flaws in the run blocking from a schematic standpoint. Of course, if the scheme is part of the problem the obvious question is if he sees it, why don’t Fisher and Boras?

I don’t know, but the Rams do seem to let defenders go unblocked alot.

I don’t think CK really had a bad game. That pick 6 hurt but CK was very accurate today, the missed bomb to Quick aside, and was helping the O-line buying time.

I really think the O was finding a rhythm in this game. TG got going some, but the line still is not where it needs to be.

Well, I blame, Zooey. He was there–couldn’t he run onto the field naked and cause a distraction? Where was the effort on his part? We may have to bench him and send zn to the game. Now there’s a guy who would gladly streak across the field for a win.

In fact, he would gladly streak through the grocery store for a gallon of milk. Of course, his streaking problem is for another thread. Sorry I brought it up.

I know this is just wild-speculation on my part, but i suspect
it hurts the Rams chances of winning when the QB throws a Pick-Six.

    I oould be wrong.

I only saw the highlights, so i dunno what happened. I do know that if you told me
before the game that Quinn was not playing I’d have said it was a “pick’em” kind a game.

To me, the picture that is emerging is this is a “wild-card level team”. I keep saying that,
but thats what i keep seeing. They will hang around the .500 mark for a while, i think.

That pick 6 did hurt…and so did the Gurley fumble….and so did the running in to the kicker penalty

Point is….the pick 6 was a bad decision by CK but overall he made nice throws and good decisions for the most part.

He missed a couple passes but I thought he was on target most of the game. I didn’t really see him 1/2 second behind like he has been the whole year. I thought this was his best showing and the team didn’t lose because of him and that pick 6

turnovers given up and turnovers forced. that was a huge difference. probably the difference.

Well you make a good case.

I am OK with either call. Philosophically, I prefer rolling the dice without letting the other team have a turn. So, if the odds are close, I go for it.

I am not unhappy with Keenum’s play. In fact, I thought that overall the offense was better this game, better on 3rd down, better on ‘time of possession’, better on running, WRs catching the ball. The 2 turnovers killed them. imo

    penalties 6-40
    time of possession 35:34.

Late me add to that since I too am in the “light in darkness” club.

Here are some other little things.

    * the defense stiffened up in the 2nd half, and that was with 3 DL starters missing
    * Keenun threw for 8.7 YPA, which extrapolated for the season so far would be 2nd in the league
    * Britt caught all 5 of his 6 targets…Austin was 7 of 10, Quick was 3 of 4…75%
    * that Malcolm Brown screen was pretty…he’s a player

Yeah they lost because they handed them 13 points.

Dare I say it? Only the Rams can beat the Rams.
