Thinking about the McVay-Goff dynamic prompted Demoff to consider other successful coaches and quarterbacks who ascended together: Sean Payton and Drew Brees, Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers, Mike Tomlin and Ben Roethlisberger, Bill Walsh and Joe Montana.

He feels that good about his.

“Those pairings have been what have created those great, long runs of success,” Demoff said. “And I think you start to see that this year.”

When i look at that offensive roster, it just doesnt look like it has any weak-links anywhere. Its great to be able to go into the draft and just take whatever they want. Hasnt been that way in a long time.

I imagine they stock up on OLinemen? Jettison Tavon’s big contract and resign Watkins.

I guess Mannion may leave next year? So, i suppose they’ll need a new no.2 QB.

The media iz gonna be picking the Rams as a super-bowl choice next year. I might too.

Some already are picking the Rams to win this year……..

    Who Will Win Super Bowl LII? Our NFL Midseason Predictions;

Good luck finding a consensus when it comes to Super Bowl favorites this season. Eighteen members of The MMQB/SI NFL staff took a crack at predicting the postseason, and each voter’s bracket is below. As for who we think is going to Minneapolis in February, no one got more than half the vote.

AFC CHAMPION: Patriots (9 votes), Chiefs (5), Steelers (4)

    NFC CHAMPION: Eagles (9), Seahawks (4), Rams (2), Vikings (2), Saints (1)

SUPER BOWL LII CHAMPION: Eagles (4), Patriots (4), Steelers (3), Chiefs (2), Rams (2), Vikings (2), Seahawks (1)

    PETER KING:
I am all-in on the Rams, which can be pretty dangerous. The franchise hasn’t finished over .500 since 2003. Their coach just began shaving in May. Also in May: Their quarterback looked like a bust. But I see what I see. I see a smart and high-powered offense that can protect the quarterback and is as scary on the ground as it is through the air. I see an imaginative coach with a good grip on his team. I see a voracious front seven with a big star (Aaron Donald) playing better than his rep. I see a team in the last three weeks that has won three, seven and three time zones away from home, respectively. (Did you know the Rams won their last three straight by double-digits at 1 p.m., 10 a.m and 10 a.m. on their body clocks?) The road thing will come in handy during the playoffs, in my calculation, because the Rams could well have to win in a hostile environment against an excellent team like Philadelphia to win it all. But will that really matter? This team is 2-8 at the Coliseum since the return of the franchise to Los Angeles, and the Rams are 5-0 away from home this year. As for climbing Mount Belichick, I’m sure some wise guy out there will point out that, on the day that Bill Belichick coordinated the Giants’ defense that shut down John Elway in Super Bowl XXI, Sean McVay was 1 year and 1 day old, and how on earth could the great Belichick ever lose to a guy less than half his age? My counter: The coaches won’t be putting on pads that day. The Rams, except at quarterback, will be deeper and better on Super Sunday.

    John DePetro

The NFC Divisional matchup between the Cinderella Los Angles Rams and the 15-1 juggernaut Philadelphia Eagles is the true Super Bowl LII. Goff’s Rams edge Wentz’s Eagles in an all-time classic. Old-man Drew Brees’ last best shot at a title ends in a half-empty Los Angeles Coliseum. The Kansas City Chiefs grind through three tough playoff games, overcoming the Bills, Steelers and the Patriots. Weary from the cold and brutal road to the Minneapolis, the Chiefs fall short and the once-dead Rams franchise wins its first Lombardi trophy since 1999, and Tinseltown is now home to the Oscars and the 2017 Super Bowl Champs.

    Albert Breer

Yes, the Steelers have had drama with Ben Roethlisberger. And Antonio Brown. And Martavis Bryant. And that has completely overshadowed what has developed over the last two months—Mike Tomlin has his most complete team since he and the Steelers went to their last Super Bowl seven years ago.

    Jenny Vrentas
Before the Eagles’ win against the Broncos, we wandered the tailgates outside for our Football in America series. We found exactly what you’d expect in Philly: Hardcore fans who believe this really, finally could be the year … but also are waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop. That early 2000s run of three straight losses in the conference championship and then a loss in the Super Bowl still stings. But, at the midpoint of the season, the Eagles are the best team in football, with a young quarterback who is playing beyond his years, talent in all three phases of the game and a tight-knit locker room with leaders of all ages. The Patriots do a better job than anyone masking and overcoming their weaknesses, but if the Eagles get a Super Bowl XXXIX do-over, a depleted New England defense will have trouble stopping Wentz and Co.

    Robert Klemko

If it comes down to these two teams, the matchup to watch would be Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce vs. this Seahawks secondary, and Seattle has been gashed recently by some talented tight ends. I’d bet on Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, Bobby Wagner and Richard Sherman to remedy this by season’s end. Shut down Kelce, and the Chiefs don’t look so tough.

Did Peter King just pick the Rams to win it all? That is about as surreal as it gets for me.

Mannion is here one more year.
    .
The Rams could tag Watkins, but that might be more than they want to spend or maybe they would rather tag Joiner? Then they would get a comp 3rd. pick back for the 2cd. round pick they gave up.
    .
Tavon is a lot cheaper over the last years of his contract, $9 million/yr. and they don’t save a lot to cut him next year. So, there is a chance he stays.
2018 Roster Bonus: $5M (guaranteed, paid the 3rd league day of 2018) If he gets traded before the 3rd league day, the new team would owe the roster bonus. imo
    .
The offensive line is somewhat of a question mark for the future. Lot of FAs in 2019. How much will age and injury affect them. This draft will have some good offensive linemen available early. The Rams have a year before it gets critical. imo But you can’t always fix the offensive line in a year. We might need help next year if something happens.

the draft equals offensive line for sure but also cornerback edge rusher/linebacker and Defensive line….people focus on offense but the truth is this team is just short of having an elite defense too

A week or so ago Rich Hammond tweeted that he doesn’t expect to see Watkins, Trujo, or Quinn back next year. Personally I think it’s too early to make anything other than a guess at who will be back.

i wonder if the rams during some blowout should try and feature mannion with the intention if trading him for a pick. definitely think they need to draft a replacement for him at some point.

i’m actually wondering depending on how the contracts go with other players if the rams could maybe try to hold onto him. he’s really effective as a decoy although part of me thinks that cooper could do a capable job in that role. wouldn’t be as effective as tavon but maybe effective enough.

This will probably be a defensive draft. We have no questions on offense, except it would be good to maintain a strong offensive line. We will probably end up with 2 or 3 comp picks. Maybe a couple in the 3rd round, 10 or 12 picks overall. Snead might trade the late 1st for a couple 2’s and draft like he did this year. Who knows who might drop in the first or we might take the best NT, DE, pass rusher, or CB? There will be loads of defensive picks in this draft.

Why not keep Mannion as the Rams backup? Who would be better? He probably wouldn’t cost much. imo You can still draft a prospect if you think you want to upgrade Brandon Allen.

i guess the question would be does he want to remain a backup?

goff looks like he’s the starter. for awhile. if mannion is ok with remaining a backup with no chance of being a starter, then yeah. keep him. but he might want to go to a team where he at least has a chance to be a starter.

I like him better than Goff. But, I am fine with Goff being the Rams QB.

I was wrong. The Rams don’t get any comp picks in 2018.

I don’t think the trade Gaines was conditional. Typically Snead doesn’t do conditional trades. He would rather move them a year in the future. imo
That would give us 8 picks in 2018

Gaines is out with a hamstring but he started 5 games.

So even if there was a condition chances are it was met.

LOT and C is going to be a real need. Our first pick in 2018 has to be for the OLine. We can’t let Goff get killed. Look what is happening to Eli. He has no OLine, and he is looking up in the sky.
