znModeratorBison mating is still going on in #Yellowstone. Male bison are particularly aggressive right now, though all bison and other wildlife can be dangerous. znModeratorAustralian man a ‘hero’ after punching a large shark to release his wife
https://news.yahoo.com/australian-man-hero-punching-large-045348467.html
An Australian man has been hailed a hero after repeatedly punching a shark until it released his wife’s leg.
Police said the couple were surfing at Shelly Beach in Port Macquarie – four hours north of Sydney in the state of New South Wales – on Saturday morning when she was bitten twice and injured on her right leg.
“Her companion was forced to punch the fish until it let go,” police said.
Paramedics treated Chantelle Doyle, 35, at the beach before she was airlifted to hospital for surgery, where it is understood she remains in a stable condition.
One witness who was surfing nearby when the attack occurred called her husband a hero for taking on what appeared to be a great white shark up to 3m (10 feet) long.
“He started laying into the shark because it wouldn’t let go,” Jed Toohey told Australia’s Daily Telegraph.
“He saved her life… He was really incredible.”
The woman’s husband, Mark Rapley, played down his efforts, telling the newspaper he “did what anyone would have done in that moment”.
The Sydney Morning Herald said he jumped off his surfboard and onto a “juvenile great white” when it refused to release his wife.
Surf Life Saving NSW chief executive Steven Pearce was quoted as saying: “This fella paddled over and jumped off his board onto the shark and hit it to get it to release her and then assisted her back into the beach.
“Pretty full on, really heroic.”

The owner of this cow used to hear dogs barking at night so he put one CCTV camera. And saw this unbelievable incident, The leopard comes daily at night to meet the cow and the cow licks him with her tongue. The owner asked the previous owner of the Cow and came to know that the leopard’s mom died when he was 20 days old and the cow fed her milk to the leopard. Since then the leopard thinks that the cow is his Mom and he comes daily at night to see her. Cow is a natural mother.

Humpback whale almost swallows kayakers near a California beach
The two managed to escape unscathed, briefly going underwater after capsizing before reemerging.https://abc7.com/pets-animals/humpback-whale-almost-swallows-kayakers-near-a-ca-beach/7647518/
AVILA BEACH, Calif. — Two whale watchers had a close encounter while kayaking off the coast of Avila Beach, California, that they will likely never forget.
Julie McSorley and Liz Cottriel were watching humpback whales on Monday when one decided to get up close and personal. A whale came up underneath them and caused them to capsize.
“I saw the big pool of fish, the big bait ball come up out of the water,” McSorley told CNN affiliate KMPH. “I saw the whale come up. I thought, ‘Oh, no! It’s too close.'”
“All of a sudden, I lifted up, and I was in the water.”
Footage from a witness nearby makes it appear as if the kayakers are being swallowed by the whale, but the two just tipped over.
“The whale was right here in my face, literally,” Cottriel told KMPH.
“I’m thinking to myself, ‘I’m gonna push. Like, I’m gonna push a whale out of the way! It was the weirdest thought. I’m thinking, ‘I’m dead. I’m dead.’ I thought it was gonna land on me. Next thing I know, I’m underwater.”
The two managed to escape unscathed, briefly going underwater after capsizing before reemerging.
