Gerald Everett has just two career outings of >50 yards receiving:His 2nd game as a pro – 95 vs WAS
Last night – 136 at SEAI think it presents a very intriguing story line for 2019.

Just to give you guys an idea of how dominant the
@49ers
offensive line has been in pass blocking so far this season, generally the fewest pressures allowed for a season hovers between 160-180 among all teams.Right now the 49ers are on pace to only allow 106…for the year.

Jared Goff made sure to find Zuerlein after the miss. Gurley showed support for him as they went into the tunnel, too. The Rams fully trust Legatron.

I don’t believe any other NFL player can make this throw. Running parallel to the line of scrimmage, the flexibility, arm strength, and accuracy of this throw is completely insane. pic.twitter.com/vBYqoT5Tip

October 4, 2019 at 3:18 pm #106203znModeratorIn trying to diagnose the Rams’ success under Sean McVay, the tight ends are often overlooked in favor of the nine-figure quarterback, the eight-figure running back and the three complementary wide receivers. Not on Thursday night. The Rams’ tight ends got their glow-up, just by being on the field at the same time. Long a proponent of 11 personnel, McVay sent out 12 personnel early and often against Seattle, utilizing two tight ends (Gerald Everett and Tyler Higbee) on 35.8 percent of offensive plays. The Rams had run just 14 plays with two tight ends entering Thursday night; they ran 15 such plays in the first half, and 24 in total. The result? An improved running game out of the gate and more explosive plays downfield for both Everett and Higbee. The two tight ends combined for 10 catches and 183 receiving yards; Everett earned the lion’s share, hauling in a career-high seven catches for 136 yards, his second straight game with five-plus catches. Los Angeles even broke out two plays with three TEs on the field (with a cameo from third-year player Johnny Mundt), both of which resulted in gains of at least 27 yards. This shift in offensive philosophy might be a temporary one for McVay and Co., but if that’s the case, Thursday night was one hell
of a one-night stand.

Goff makes some really bad decisions at times…BUT he is tough as nails mentally and physically, never quits, and makes some really amazing throws as well. I just love that he never folds. The fact that we can get the ball at our own SEVEN with 1:40 left and no timeouts in a stadium like Seattle and go 77 yards for a shot at winning…that’s not all McVay.
Of course we want to see less turnovers and more consistency, but he’s 24. He has qualities you can’t coach. Maybe he’ll never be a top 5 guy, but I think he’s good enough to win a lot of games and make the Rams a perennial contender.

McVay: “It’s been a humbling last week…. When you sit back and think about the amount of plays that occurred and then for it to come down to one play, whether you’re feeling pretty good or whether you’re feeling like, ‘Man, this is a little bit of a gut-check time for us.’”Steve Mason@VeniceMase
Devastating loss for the #Rams…losing on a 44-yard missed field goal.But @LindseyThiry agrees with me. That was the best overall #Rams performance of the season. It was also Jared Goff’s best game of the year. I’m more optimistic today than I was after the Tampa loss.October 4, 2019 at 10:20 pm #106229znModeratorLMU93
Do you know what the Rams’ record under McVay was in games decided by 6 or fewer points coming into last night? 11-1. Eleven. And. One. The one loss being that Seattle game in LA in early 2017 when Kupp couldn’t quite haul in the late TD pass.
This is the NFL. You’re just not going to win all the close ones. If you win 60% of the close ones you’re in good shape. The Rams have won 85% of the close ones under McVay.
October 5, 2019 at 12:50 am #106235znModeratorThis might be the sickest play I’ve ever seen by a DL. To sit off the snap, spill the puller, then stop & change directions to make a tackle for loss is something humans aren’t supposed to be able to do. https://t.co/MIVA3ZFbGV

vI’m probably the billionth person who’s said this . . . but AD is so crazy good, so relentless, so driven, and so freakishly athletic, he can take himself out of a play and put himself right back into it before it ends — and make the stop. I’ve actually never seen another player do that . . . unless the play is abnormally extended.
Also, whenever I see him standing next to other very large humans, I’m amazed at how small he seems, relatively speaking. He shouldn’t be able to do the things he does on the field. He looks like a linebacker, not a DT.
