4 Rams make PFF's list of top iron men in NFL last season

Los Angeles landed four players on Pro Football Focus’ list of the top iron men in the league last season.

The qualifier is having an overall grade of at least 80.0 and playing 80 percent of the snaps during the regular season. Below are the Rams players who made the cut on offense and defense.

    Robert Woods
    Overall Grade: 87.9
    Offensive Snaps: 1,041

    Rob Havenstein
    Overall Grade: 84.3
    Offensive Snaps: 1,100

    Andrew Whitworth
    Overall Grade: 83.1
    Offensive Snaps: 1,037

    John Johnson III
    Overall Grade: 83.7
    Defensive Snaps: 1,155

Context (or to put the obvious down in blue n white): the Gordon situation, many say, is partly a reaction to the Gurley contract. Gurley got a big RB contract & then his knee became a question, which raises old questions about RB longevity & the kind of money they should get

“We’re devalued” – Melvin Gordon on the state of RBs.

    NFL’s most expensive RBs

    1. Gurley: replaced by CJ Anderson after injury
    2. Johnson: missed 15 of last 32 games w injury
    3. Freeman: missed 16 of last 32 games w injury
    4. McCoy: avg’d 3.7 YPC last 2 years

    …but go pay RBs

I would say that I’d be a little skeptical that they’ll pull Kupp or Watkins off the field for one of the TEs on a regular basis unless one of the WRs get hurt again. (I could certainly be wrong!)

Personally, I will be shocked to see Watkins on the field for the Rams even once this whole season.

Yeah you would think he would be behind Bruce or even Amendola.

NFL teams split record $8.78B in revenue, Rams earn $274.3M

    Andrew Brandt@AndrewBrandt
Key number from annual @packers financial report: $274 million. It is the national distribution to each team, before they even turn the lights on. Player Salary Cap was $180 million. These are salad days for NFL owners.

Only once since 1998 has a team repeated as NFC champions.

I’d love to see the operating expenses of each team. Not just the totals for each team, but how much they are spending on different aspects of the business side – scouting, salaries, rent/mortgage, and so on. It would be interesting to see the differences between teams, and what they’re “getting” for their money.
