znModeratorBummer that this bright spot in the kicking game is (understandably) overshadowed. Rams have developed a massive competitive advantage. Yesterday was the ultimate example, but hopefully it has staying power. https://t.co/LtHhzqd9ea

This was just the Rams’ second loss after leading by at least 19 points since 1984. One of the worst losses of the Sean McVay era.roberto clemente@rclemente2121
today, stafford on 3rd down:
1 of 7 for 8 yards, 1 sack, 1st down…
Part of the reason for the Rams’ struggles was the pass protection, which was lacking throughout the contest. In fact, Pro Football Focus even gave Rams offensive linemen Justin Dedich (35 pass-blocking snaps) and Beaux Limmer (five pass-blocking snaps) their worst possible grade, a 0.0.

Another squib by Karty causes a bobble on the return and pins the Eagles inside the 15. They have now started every single drive off a Rams score at or inside the 20.***

znModeratorThat Cowherd vid is pretty good at summing up what happened.
One lesson: don’t give McVay the 2nd round pick. He will take a skill player they don’t need. Atwell, Ferguson. They needed a corner or a center, these guys are right.

1. This was a battle of two of the NFC’s three best. Classic fight with momentum swings. Two teams with different strengths but similar builds, spending all on offense to be creative on defense.2. Crazy game of runs — 26-0 for both. Just a classic game where the championship mettle and home crowd let the Eagles finish but the Rams’ talent shined a lot.
3. Most impressive? Holding Saquon Barkley to 2.6 yards a carry. Poona Ford and Nate Landman making a real difference.
4. We’ll see how sustainable the run ‘D’ is with Jonathan Taylor, Christian McCaffrey and Derrick Henry up next. Eagles run game hasn’t taken off overall yet.
5. Jared Verse, Byron Young and Josiah Stewart will give burly OTs hell all season. Rams pass rush up there with any.
6. The CB issues are real. Just some physical limitations to Darious Williams (speed) and Emmanuel Forbes Jr. (size). I think the Rams need a trade or to sign Stephon Gilmore because the tests will keep coming.
7. Josh Karty should have been the hero. Amazing game from him.
8. Matthew Stafford was off. Just a reminder of life with a 37-year-old pocket passer. And why the Rams need a complete puzzle.
9. Steve Avila coming back solves a lot. The Rams haven’t had a game yet with both guards and about 1/3 of the games without either.
10. Gotta feel great about the run game in spite of the guard injuries. Kyren Williams and Blake Corum are a fun tandem that can wear teams down and marry play-action concepts in a beautiful way. But they gotta be crisp in the red zone/short-yardage without the QB run threat.

Crazy how Rams-Eagles was basically two halves played the same way until the final kick.1st half — Rams took the ball, turned it over, gave up a touchdown, then scored 19 straight
2nd half — Eagles took the ball, turned it over, gave up a touchdown, then scored 20 straight
Jim Youngblood 53@53_jim70721
To be SB winner a team has to
1. play 60 minutes of football
2. win in all three phases of gameRams played one good half in 3 phases and one bad half in 3 phases.
However, Eagles are the champs. Rams have time to play full game vs good teams in next few weeks.
znModeratorIt appears there was a missed false start on an Eagles tush push.
Soon after, they scored a touchdown… On a tush push!

No real explanation from Sean McVay in the blocked field goals. He just credited the Eagles for making the plays and said he won’t make excuses. It sounded like he was going to start his answer about Kevin Dotson but changed up before he said the “No excuses” line.
The Rams scored 26 unanswered and then gave up 26 unanswered.
That should have been Matthew Stafford’s 50th career game-winning drive… but back-to-back blocked field goals.

Puka Nacua said his flex that led to a taunting penalty wasn’t any different from what he usually does after first-down catches. Nacua pointed to A.J. Brown’s “big celebration” on third down, saying, “feeling that play’s very similar but just didn’t feel like it went both ways.”Sosa Kremenjas@QBsMVP
Blame McVay or whoever all you want but Stafford left a lot of plays on the field today. Davante Adams has to bring in the TD, too, and of course, Coleman Shelton literally wiped 7 off the board. That was a disgusting 2nd half though either way.
znModeratorYou can blame the coach, but this is not some 'call' or scheme., THis is their big guys pushing around Rams' big guys. Davis powers into gap and being 6'7" does his thing. znModeratorthey salvaged it after they blew the lead, but Karty got blocked. Again. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that happen back-to-back in my life.
And back to back 4th down stops.
znModeratorThere is zero chance of avoiding the dystopia they have carefully prepared for, and I don’t know what they’re waiting for at this point. AI to develop a bit more? Some civil disturbances? Maybe they’re fine hiding behind the facade of democracy until that ultimately gives way. I dunno. But the future is bleak.
The future is bleak but the resistance is coming from some blue state governors. Apparently the national democratic party establishment doesn’t control those guys.
