znModeratorAccording to Rams PR, Los Angeles’ three-game streak without allowing a sack is the second-longest in franchise history. It tied a three-game stretch from 1971, only one game shy of the team record of four games.
The Rams went four straight games without allowing a sack at the end of the 2012 season and into the 2013 season, and also in 1973. If the Rams extend it to four games, it’ll be the 10th-longest single-season streak without allowing a sack in NFL history, according to Stathead.

Yeah that was more than a bend don’t break defense.
It was a bend, then bend some more, then bend again, then even more bending, and finally–keep bending defense.
But as JB Long points out in a tweet in a different thread, that’s the first time the Rams have allowed under 10 points in consecutive games since 2015. And there were no explosive plays–the Jets longest play of the day was 1 13 yard reception.
Not that I enjoy watching that kind of defense.

Whittington had 2 great plays on special teams. The first was to tip the punt out of the endzone so the Jets started on their 1. Then as you mention, the recovery.
That was the thing about him at Texas. He was known as a special teams ace on every STs unit there. So he would block, cover, and run returns.
Nice to see all that translating to the pros.

znModeratorDouble-teaming Kobie Turner just gives him more people to beat. The Rams’ defensive end expects that challenge and trains for the exact situations that arose on Thursday Night Football against the 49ers.
In the first half, Turner was doubled four times. He generated four pressures and two sacks (both on third down), the most of any player in a first half this season against double teams.
…Since the start of last season, no player has generated more pressures against double teams than Turner (42), according to Next Gen Stats.
…The first sack of the game came in the first quarter when Purdy performed an inexplicable leap, as he couldn’t escape the pressure. Turner ran a stunt with outside linebacker Michael Hoecht, which brought him off the double-team after Turner used his hands to swipe them aside. He then tossed the 6-foot-5, 315-pound lineman Dominick Puni out of his way to bring down Purdy in the pocket.
