wvParticipant“Small minds have always lashed out at what they dont understand”
Dan Brown
wvParticipantAugust 31, 2024 at 10:52 am in reply to: roster aszesz…uh, azsehs…asysamint…(?) … roster ideas #152007
wvParticipant..QB.. but WS just has more physical gifts than KW did. More experience too…as a Rams qb anyway, not counting Arizona.
…PREDICTION: They will set the league on fire like a meat product of some kind in a large conflagration. You know, like a ribeye in the Chernobyl meltdown. 2025 draft: CB, ILB, OT.
I dunno. I was hoping they would start MS instead of WS. But what do i know.
Prediction: I’m worried. I’m always worried. Its an RFL thing.
w
v
wvParticipant. As of 8/27, there has been nothing to suggest Jones is an asshole, or that the Rams are doing a John Shaw thing.
Dont be bringing up John Shaw.
OK?
Cuz I will raise your John Shaw with Jay Zygmunt. I dont wanna go there, but i will.
w
v
wvParticipant…Signing Williams is going to cost some other guys on the roster, though (next year). Bottom line is that the window is closing on this group, and a rebuild around Purdy is on the way. And they have a shaky OL heading into this season. For those of you who don’t know much about football, shaky OLs are not helpful.
Yeah, they will be good as long as Lynch and Shan are running things, one would think, but their ‘elite’ status should end after this year.
I just hope they jump out of this years window, gracefully.
Like maybe blowing a 21 point lead in the playoffs to the Rams. Ya know.
Shannahan 50-1 against McV in the regular season
0-2 in the Playoffs. I could live with that.
w
v
wvParticipantMassey.
Duh.
w
v
wvParticipantNever heard of this guy. But i watched a short vid of him talkin about Palestine. It was good. So is this. It gets better as it goes.
wvParticipantShort Noam vid from six years ago. In the last couple minutes he talks about the ‘real threat’ of Iran getting a nuclear weapon. The real threat (in the eyes of many Israelis) is — Emigration. If the region feels too dangerous, wealthy zionists will simply leave Israel.
Now, i just saw a vid that said half a million Jewish people have already left Israel and a million more are expected to leave.
wvParticipantbtw, the second half of that Nader vid is worth visiting. I know everyone has heard of how the anti-war donahue show got cancelled by MSNBC, but they have the producer of the show on and he gives some details I hadnt heard. He compares what happened to the McCarthy era.
w
v
wvParticipantI didn’t see a lot of his show(s), but he seems to me to be around the “end-of-the-line” of independent journalists, or the end of “honest” journalism. Seems to me that there is nobody in journalism in the past 20+ years who isn’t very clear that they play a role, and they know which side of the bread is buttered.
I have never heard Nader speak this glowingly about anyone. He just goes on and on and on about Phil
wvParticipantSigh. To lose Donald and Ernest Jones. I dunno.
Could be a good year, barring injury. Maybe even challenge for the division. But this does not seem like a Super Bowl year, does it.
Defense in the ring year had, what?, Aaron Donald, Von Miller, Jalen Ramsey…
This year….?
w
v
wvParticipantI saw, Phil Donahue died this month. I learned a lot from his old show, long ago.
wvParticipantStetson Bennett is not an NFL QB.
I would take Tim Tebow and Jesus over Stetson.
w
v
wvParticipantFrom the vid — …with all the talent, (Kittle, Purdy, Shannahan, Deebo, Aiyuk, etc) the 49ers had, they went 0 and 3 without Trent Williams. 12 and 2 with him. With him they scored 32 points a game. Without him 17 points a game.
Both Kimes and her guest agreed Williams had a serious claim to being the NFL MVP.
w
v
wvParticipantAccording to the Mina Kimes vid, (at the 49 minute mark) the Cardinals running game (in the second half of the season) was “first in EPA per play, running the ball, more than twice as efficient as the 49ers”
Now. Someone explain wtf ‘epa’ means in regard to the running game.
Also, after watching the vid, I am a little worried that the Seahawks have hired themselves a shannhan-type genius. Only on defense.
Interesting division.
w
v
w
v
wvParticipantdunno if this has been posted. Mina Kimes starts the show on the Rams.
wvParticipantaaron donald. much more valuable. especially in today’s game. i’d take him over any other position other than qb.
I see I have ferreted-out a couple of Donald-Sniffers. Donald-ites.
Aaron Donald was a figurehead.
Seriously, I’m surprised you and zn are so decisive about this. I could go either way.
w
v
wvParticipantI’ve seen enough of Mr Bennett. If I’m a defensive coordinator, I LOVE facing Stetson. They can do better. w v
It’s simply a matter of coaching. They just sit him down and say okay Stetson, stop throwing interceptions…fair enough big guy? Voila. Problem solved. You’ve never really learned how to appreciate coaching.
Has McVay ever ‘developed’ a rookie QB ? I guess he constructed Goff, but he also deconstructed Goff.
Maybe its just hard to find good rookie QB projects in the lower rounds. They seem to do pretty well with the other positions.
w
v
wvParticipantI’ve seen enough of Mr Bennett. If I’m a defensive coordinator, I LOVE facing Stetson.
They can do better.
w
v
wvParticipantI dont think ive watched that entire vid before. I dont remember hearing Faulk say he half-assed the block on Rodney Harrison. The one that got Trent Green hurt. Faulk said it was preseason so he didnt really put his all into the block. Bout the 25 min mark.
w
v
wvParticipantMina Kimes. She’s Seattle’s version of Jourdan Rodrigue. Really does her homework. ENJOYS doing her homework. Two of the best ‘ever’ imho.
w
v
wvParticipantSaw a youtube vid that said Ay-ook is probly gonna be a Steeler.
w
v
wvParticipant
wvParticipantfarr and jb long said the same thing. barring injury i don’t see how the offense can go wrong. barring injury. i don’t have a clue about the defense though.
Yeah, football predictions are always so difficult. For the obvious reason.
Cooper Kupp should have a great year,Barring Injury.
Stafford should have a great year, Barring Injury.
The OLine looks to be the best since 99, Barring Injury.
The veteran secondary looks crafty, wily, solid, Barring Injury….
w
v
wvParticipantRams defense was about 20th in Rushing yards allowed, and Passing yards allowed last year.
If Chris Shula is successful he has a chance to say the Rams D finished better AFTER they lost Aaron Donald. Could lead to big things for Shula.
Then again the defense might implode without AD. We shall see.
w
v
wvParticipant“…Caley, 41, is now in his second season with the Rams after a long stint in New England. He also turned down an offer to become the Patriots’ offensive coordinator this spring, team and league sources said, in part because of the group of players he coaches in L.A…”
==
That cant be right. The Rams TE coach turned down an OC job to remain a TE coach?
Granted, the Patriots offense may be the worst in history.
w
v
wvParticipantI always have two reactions to the ‘it was dark…etc’ stuff in those kinds of contexts.
On the one hand, I think to myself, ‘well thats insightful on his part, he’s being honest and working on himself, and it helps others for him to admit things, etc etc etc’.
On the other hand — the wv-raging-leftist-hand, i think to myself…’well, he’s a white, male, multi-millionaire, privileged mega-star, whining about first-world-problems, while people in other places are being bombed and starved and mutilated….so, maybe his problem is not really so ‘dark’. Etc. And so forth. Buzzkill, i know.
w
v
wvParticipantyeah. for me special teams and turnovers need to improve.
If turnover rates improve AFTER Aaron Donald retired — well…that would be somethin.
w
v
wvParticipantAre there no ‘swing voters’ anymore?
wvParticipantI would ‘think’ high-football-character and self-motivation matter more than ever now, what with the shortened training sessions etc.
You almost ‘have’ to have guys that WANT to stay in shape and study film etc, etc.
