i’m totally bummed about this trade………

Really? Well, I have no F’ing idea
what i think. I…think…maybe i think its ok.
I just need to see the kid play, i guess.
See him in horns. See him take a big hit
and get up and laugh about it.

If they can play defense, and run the ball and protect him,
    he may elevate them 🙂

    One man’s view.
    =========================================

    Laram

As we sit today, the Rams are no better than they were last season, actually they’re in worst shape.

They have Robinson and Saffold on the o-line, and a qb who is a statue in the pocket. You can’t be comfortable with that!

They rid themselves of Sam and his contract, but you can thank the Eagles for coming hard for Sam!

Its not like the Rams engineered the trade NJ, and looking at the final details of the deal, the Rams are gonna be giving draft picks back IMO.

IF Sam doesn’t play, or plays less than 50% of the snaps, they got two picks coming back.

Sam will never withstand a Philly fan base. Toughest place to play in all of sports in many opinions.

The Rams have cap now, but I posted a convo I had with a FA awhile ago about the potential of playing for the Rams.

Its real, you know I don’t post BS.

Look past the fact they traded Sam, got rid of his salary, which I know you wanted, and tell me what you see?

On another note I got a text back from a longtime friend of mine, Tim McManus who is the beat writer for the Eagles.

He thinks the Eagles might keep Sam because Chip feels that their health science regime is so superior to the rest of the NFL, that they can get him healthy.

That seems odd to me considering the fact he’s had several players injured and two qb’s put on IR.

    But that’s what he said.
    ——————-

Laram — Foles has proven one thing

that he could have one good season in an offense that is qb friendly.

He’s proven absolutely nothing in a drop back offense.

In 2013 Foles played behind the best o-line in football.

Once the Nfl got a look at Chips system and they had some injuries on the o-line, Foles was an injury prone turnover machine.

Foles should be happy to be out of Philly, his boss never wanted him, never believed in him.

Anybody would want out of that situation.

I wish Foles was a part of a bigger plan, but unfortunately he’s not!

I think Bradford is a better qb than Foles. Like, by a lot.
But then the Eagles paid for him in trade in a way that acknowledges that.
If Foles can be a decent play-action qb then he’s all they need.
It just means scaling the expectations back for the offense, IMO.
It also means not having to worry about the 2 ACLs.

I think i agree with all that.

But its hard to say much when
    i havent seen him play.

    Interesting thoughts. Lots of permutations

I think the two great WRs are now in play

Rams re-sign TE Lance Kendricks (4 years, $18.5 million): D Grade

Uhh… did the Rams look at the wrong stats when drawing up this deal for Lance Kendricks? Or did Kendricks drug the general manager and convince him to offer nearly $5 million per season? I suppose either scenario could have occurred.

If not, I don’t get it. Lance Kendricks is a mediocre player at best, and it’s not like he’s even the starting tight end. He can block well, but 4-year, $18.5 million contracts shouldn’t be handed out to blocking tight ends. The Rams won the Sam Bradford-Nick Foles trade by a long shot – the analysis is below – but they screwed up with this deal.

<span class=”d4pbbc-font-color” style=”color: blue”>I think the Rams overpaid for Kendicks, but he has a better chance of performing to his contract than Cook does. imo</span>

Yeah if you just go by the stats, it was a bad deal.
But apparently the Rams think he is
    more than a “mediocre” player.

What if the Rams take Mariota ?

    I think thats the plan.
    They draft Mariota and then
    trade him for Bradford.

Anywayz — Big gambles by both teams but
especially the Eagles. The Eagles have
    a high-risk, high-reward QB now. Quite a gamble.
It could go either way. I thought it was telling
in that article up above that they have a lot of faith
in their conditioning and strength program. They think
they can keep SB healthy. I also think its interesting
just how much they admire his skill as a player.

Well my own view is that the women
    didn’t ‘turn it into’ racism,
they just noticed the subtle racism.

But if we were sitting in a circle of ten people

We now have more money and more draft choices. We aren’t making an all or nothing gamble on the QB. So, are we going to spend the money wisely and draft wisely? But, all in all, I consider today a plus for the Rams.

Well, what if they can sign TWO solid
Oline free agents. Wiznewskovitz or whoever at Center,
    and then a solid Guard.

IF, they can pull ‘that’ off — then they
can take one of the great WRs at the ten spot,
and ‘still’ draft another OLineman in the 2nd round.

    More:

“…Foles isn’t a pressure quarterback. He lost the state championship in high school, lost both of his bowl games, and looked confused in the second half of the loss to the New Orleans Saints in last year’s playoffs. In 17 pro starts, he’s thrown only one game-winning touchdown pass in the fourth quarter or overtime. (Compare that to Andrew Luck, who threw six in his first two seasons.) Sometimes he just flings it up there in the hope that someone is around to catch it, although without DeSean Jackson, that’s become far less likely. The Eagles also played a weak schedule last year.

    And yet….

That article i posted is worth reading. Long, but worth reading.

If for no other reason than to read about the famous Texas Projectile Vomitting Play:

“….Then Foles, who has a pattern of reducing expectations to nothing only to exceed them since there no longer are any, stepped it up. He started as a junior. He became a star in Texas. His senior year, he led Westlake to the state championship finals against Southlake Carroll, which was undefeated and ultimately named the top-ranked team in the country. Westlake actually led at the half, 15-7, on its way to a major upset. But then, early in the second half, came a most unusual play that not even Chip Kelly has installed and that bears mentioning:

Southlake Carroll quarterback Riley Dodge, operating out of the shotgun, projectile-vomited right before the snap. This stunned the Westlake defense (talking about it today, some players still seem stunned), which resulted in Dodge throwing a touchdown pass. Westlake was never the same after that and lost, 43-29….”

    http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/dneagles/Foles-era-over-Bradford-coming-but-is-Chip-Done-dealing.html

“…The Eagles settled the long-running debate over whether Nick Foles is their quarterback of the future, as they neared completion Tuesday on a trade that will send him to St. Louis for QB Sam Bradford and what would seem to be a swap of second-round draft picks, a league source said, confirming a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Bradford, 27, the 2010 No. 1 overall pick, has missed the past two seasons with ACL tears and would seem just as poor a fit as Foles for the read-option part of Chip Kelly’s offense.

But will Bradford start? Or even stay? Getting a higher pick in the second round might make a move up in the draft for Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota a little more feasible, especially if there were a team such as, say, second overall-slotted Tennessee that wanted Bradford as part of a package.

Foles presumably will take the controls for Jeff Fisher in St. Louis, just a year after looking like he was the Eagles’ future. Foles, 26, led the Birds to the playoffs in 2013 while throwing an other-worldly 27 touchdown passes and just two interceptions. He was unable to match that success last season, with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, before breaking his collarbone in the eighth game at Houston and missing the remainder of the year.

“Who knows? We’ll see,” Nick’s father, Larry, told the Daily News, when asked if this would be a good move for his son. “He loved the Eagles, thought it was going to be really good there. Things happen. He’s a big boy, he can handle it.

“He’s always been kind of the underdog, but he always rises to the occasion. Whatever happens, he’ll continue to make the most of it.

“You always want to go where you’re wanted…Life goes on.”

Bradford comes with a high salary — $12.5 million this year — but the Eagles have plenty of cap room.

The Eagles’ trade of LeSean McCoy to Buffalo for Kiko Alonso also became official at 4 p.m. At a press conference in Buffalo, McCoy said he found out he was traded last week when he woke up from a nap in Miami to see a blizzard of texts from friends. This would indicate he did not get the news from Kelly, though McCoy later said he “spoke with the owner” at some point.

The Eagles will take on the final remaining year of Bradford’s contract which is currently valued at $12.985 million. The Eagles could extend him or renegotiate that figure down to be more in line with his more recent production. Considering they just traded for him I would imagine a short term extension is more likely than a pay cut unless Bradford is just looking for a change of scenery and was willing to take a cut to make the deal happen.

The Rams will carry $3.595 million in cap charges for Bradford, but that will represent a savings of $12.985 million. Foles costs next to nothing this year, just $1.542 million. Foles is also in the final year of his contract and could be extended if the Rams view him as their long term solution. Extending Foles now, if they believe strongly in him, will result in a better contract for the Rams if he were to play out his deal and succeed.

And do the Rams now pick at 20 instead of 10?

Like many here I am a Bradford fan and see him as a QB capable of taking a team to the playoffs. His redzone play has been solid, he’s not prone to turnovers and he’s got a great arm. If he stays healthy he will be a good player wherever he ends up. Having said that, I am ambivalent about this trade. Foles has shown that he can play well in the NFL too. He played wounded last year, the guy is tough.

So many things have changed. The Rams no longer have any shot
at the two big WRs, but I guess they were not interested in them
anyway. I assume they have the money to sign Britt now.
I’d expect that to get done soon.

Signing Kendricks will go unnoticed but he’s the kind
of tough, smart role player ya need.

I thot it was interesting what Chris Long said
    in his social-cyber-text-whatever-thingy. He said
the Rams “are in WIN NOW” mode. I wonder
if Foles will have to learn a new system
or if he already knows the Rams offensive system.
Seems to me that is an important issue
if you are in ‘win now’ mode.

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12457030/lance-kendricks-agrees-4-year-185m-deal-st-louis-rams?ex_cid=espnapi_public

The St. Louis Rams have agreed to terms with TE Lance Kendricks on a four-year deal worth $18.5 million, sources told ESPN’s Nick Wagoner and Adam Caplan.

The Rams used a second-round pick on Kendricks in the 2011 NFL draft. In the time since, he’s been something of a “Swiss Army Knife,” playing all over the formation and even lining up at fullback at times.

In 2014, the 27-year-old Kendricks had 27 catches for 259 yards with five touchdowns.

For his four-year career, Kendricks has 129 receptions for 1,388 yards and 13 scores.

Brockmeyer, 70, was this week singled out by Department of Justice investigators as being a driving force behind Ferguson’s strategy of using its municipal court to aggressively generate revenues. The policy has been blamed for a breakdown in relations between the city’s overwhelmingly white authorities and residents, two-thirds of whom are African American.

Investigators found Brockmeyer had boasted of creating a range of new court fees, “many of which are widely considered abusive and may be unlawful”. A city councilman opposing the judge’s reappointment was warned “switching judges would/could lead to loss of revenue”….

Anyway, the Rams solved that problem by trading him. And picking up draft picks, which they still need.

Well i saw a post that said the Rams were now 30 million under the cap
or some ridiculous figure like that.

I’m not sure if there’s any good free agents left out there, though.
But the Rams do seem to have some money now.

To put it simply, Chip Kelly never wanted Foles as his QB. He made a big deal of talking about how he didn’t need particular types of players, but he went out of his way to show otherwise. He gave the job to Vick, who struggled. Foles came in the second half of the giants game and led the team to its second victory. Foles then lit up the BUCs scoring 4 TDs (one rushing) and Chip wouldn’t commit. Foles thenngot concussed and had a horrid game against the cowboys. Vick came back and got hurt again against the Giants, giving Kelly no choice but to play him. Foles then threw 7 TDS and made it impossible to bench him.

Last year, Foles struggled but it was not soley his fault. He was playing behind a mess of an offensive line with only Jason Peters playing at several points. Lesean McCoy struggled mightily at certain points giving less than 20 rushing yards in two different games. The idea that the box was always being stacked is incorrect. Teams were rushing four guys and dropping into coverage because they were facing three, or in some cases, four backup linemen and able to get pressure.

It should be noted that Foles was hurt against the Redskins in Week 3 after a cheap shot and I believe he played hurt until the collarbone finally broke against the Texans. I cannot prove this is true, but he looked different after that game.

I wish you guys luck with him. I think he is legitimately capable of being a top ten QB and he should improve your team. I was honestly expecting Andy Reid to make another attempt at trading for him.
