Well….I’m still mad at him. I’d
like to hear a little more from HIM
about why he was suspended (for the second time
i think?) and what really happened with
    regard to that shooting.
I’m not much interested in how his
priorities are about “God” at this point, blah
    blah blah.

    …yeah, I’m still irked..

“….is the way the Broncos’ defense beat Ben Roethlisberger, Tom Brady and Cam Newton in their great playoff run. Denver has a great defense. Holding Big Ben to 16 points, Brady to 18 and MVP Newton to 10? Holding the Steelers, Patriots and Panthers to four touchdowns in 12 quarters? Carolina, New England and Pittsburgh were 1-3-4 in the league in scoring, yet managed all of seven third-down conversions in three games….”

Great for manning to go out. Like elway. Good for him.

    Yes.

Also…this: last 4 superbowls, both teams win or lose, their defensive and offensive rankings —>

    Broncos O: 16th D: 1st
    Panthers O: 11th D: 6th

    Patz O: 11th D: 13th
    Seattle O: 9th D: 1st

    Seattle O: 17th D: 1st
    Broncos O: 1st D: 19th

    Ravens O: 16th D: 17th
    49ers O: 11th D: 3rd

    avg O: 11.5 D: 7.5

Ravens were the oddballs in that cluster
of teams. Every other team had at least
a top 6 offense or defense. The Ravens
were not in the top 15 on O or D. Strange.

Maybe they had a late surge or something.

There is no way. Finnegan is just doing the self-aggrandizing thing.

Ya think JT wouldn’t have caught wind of this? The St. Lou beat reporter never hears about this in spite of the fact that Fisher knows, and all the players know and anybody else in the locker room, but JT never finds out that it’s an open secret?

    Yeah, I don’t think so.

Yeah, i think ole Cortland is just shooting
    from the hip.

Now go take a look at what Rodney Harrison
said. Its the single worst thing i’ve ever
heard an NFL player say, i think.

I thought Rodney Harrison was a scumbag BEFORE he took out Trent Green.

I saw his comment. I also saw his comments crying about when he got hurt. And I saw him criticize Fisher for …

Forget it. The guy is a scumbag.

I don’t want any Rodney Harrisons in football. I joke about injuries, and stuff, but I’m joking. He isn’t. I want to watch football, not gladiators.

    ————————–

I swear i have ‘never’ heard a worse comment from a
player or explayer — “i would go for his knees” ?!

    Are you kidding me?

And add the context — this is a guy who took out Trent Greens knees.

    Just….no words.

When asked if he was surprised about the Rams’ relocation to Los Angeles, Finnegan replied: “Not surprised. I knew it was coming two, three years ago. They had already said it was gonna happen. We knew.”

This statement has attracted a lot of attention out there.

Interesting, too, what he says about JL.

Well, I’m sure Finnegan interpreted statements he heard
that way, but I don’t think Fisher could have
known for sure, two or three years ago. He may
have known it was something Kronky ‘wanted’ to do,
but he couldnt have known how the owners vote would
    go, etc.

when the reps came up, that he always got Bob Brown. Purposely moved ahead to when it was Bob who was taking his reps. Deacon would move up and go against him. I watched him do it … And Deacon, hey – he handled him! Whipped up on Bob pretty good that day. On the final pass rush, he turned to Bob and he says, ‘I have my credentials, too, Bob. So, you get in line just like everybody else.’”

Well, maybe that kind of thing is why they
shipped Bob out to Oakland the next year…where
he continued to be a Hall of Fame OLineman.

    I’ve said this many times….

it only takes one 3rd down stop to win a game by 3 points. During SPY Gate New England won 3 super bowls by 3 points or less…

BTW, DEFLATE GATE. New England has been money in Nov and Dec for the past 15 years…. this year with properly inflated balls. New England finished 3-5 since late Nov. ….

It’s a huge advantage throwing a ball that is 20% smaller in size. BTW, this season turnovers on fumbles was twice as much as they did last year.

Well, the Patriots may be eeevil,
but a lot of folks thought the old Raiders were too.
And the Steelers. And the old Detroit Pistons. Etc.

None of them eevil teams is giving up
    their Rings.

At any rate, Brady cant last forever.
It will be very interesting to see what
    Belichick’s teams are like post-Brady.

There is a possibility, I suppose, that RGIII can get his shit together mentally. That he has been humbled, and now has the proper drive. It’s possible. I have no reason to think he HAS. I am just saying it’s possible. (Though even if he has, there is still the question of whether he can develop into an effective NFL QB)

Manziel is an irredeemable head case. Like Phillips. No cure.

In some measure, I feel pity for him the same way I did for Phillips. I mean, I don’t think head cases WANT to be head cases. They just are. And they are doomed to unhappiness. So, I’m sorry. But I don’t want him to bring his troubles to the Rams.

    Yes, well said.

Course as crazy as bad-Johnny is, he never
once tried to cut off his own thumb. Ya know.

This is the only guy I want less than RGIII.

If the Rams were stupid enough to sign him,
I’d stay a Rams fan, but i would actively
root for his Quick implosion. (cause it would
    come sooner or later)

My opinion of Snisher would fall through
    the floor.

I mean, this guy is not Janoris Jenkins.
    He’s more like Lawrence Phillips.
And if Gil Brandt is right (and i dont think he is)
he’s even worse than i thought.

I understand the interest — i think its
based on his first year. He did a lot
    of exciting stuff.

I think some folks think if a coach
    designed the offense completely around
RG’s talents/weaknesses he could get it done.

Personally, i am skeptical, and i
just dont think he has the leadership
    qualities ya need.

I dont necessarily agree that OLinemen dont
like blocking for a running QB like Cam.
His point was that its hard not to Hold in situations
where Cam is moving around, but i suspect there
are now OLine coaches who know how to teach OLinemen
techniques for playing with a guy like Cam.
I just think it requires different techniques

The question is, did Snead draft the way he did BECAUSE he was deliberately trying to miss the playoffs in 2015, but be built for them in 2016?

    No way.

I agree with zn. The line fell apart. They decided to fucking fix it. And the draft seemed to best way to do that for $ reasons, and because there wasn’t much in FA. And Gurley fell into their lap.

What is always missing in the “Complain About the Personnel Moves” arguments is ANY alternative plan. As if the Rams could have drafted other people who would have made an instant impact and propelled the Rams to the playoffs last year? Like who?

Gurley and Havenstein represent about as good a draft as a team can have, fer chrissakes. The entire draft was an A, looks like. So I’m supposed to believe that they could have drafted 5 Aaron Donald types and made the playoffs, but – No! – they were conspiring to move to LA and had to have a crappy draft? Please.

And that’s not the way to do things in the NFL.
