    This is concerning to me. Center is the most Important-yet-under-appreciated role in pro-football, imho.

    How can they replace his Knowledge/experience at that critical spot? They got better when they got him, didnt they?

    This “it wasn’t an injury, it was an aggravation” line is problematic.

    Agree completely with all that, especially the line I quote.

    Though…having said that, the “arthritic condition” story is still not solid fact. Basically it’s one reporter from a reputable journal (The Athletic) who cites a “source.”

    Not easily dismissed. But also too soon to take it as established fact.

    ===================

    The Rams had a ton of good luck as far as being free from major injuries last year. Which was one reason they made to the super bowl, of course.

    But still one wonders if things would have turned out differently if Cooper Kupp and and a healthy Gurley had showed up to face the Pats.

    Gurley’s “aggravation” certainly is a tricky problem. It affects the draft, free agency, and Snead’s general plan. How can Snead plan for the future, if he doesnt really know how fast the ‘aggravation’ is going to deteriorate? Does Gurley have one good year left? Less than one? More than one? Will he ever be the same? Doesnt sound like anyone knows.

    I got it!

    I got it today.

    I messaged Sands again last week to remind her, and she has sent me Oakley’s copy of the script. I am just fucking beside myself. And I don’t even know how good it is…ya know. But I have it!

    Well it was obvious he was playing ‘hurt.’ And allllll the celebrity-tv-pundits that blamed McVay for forgetting about Gurley, etc — are and were, idiots.

    It was just so obvious.

    I can understand the Rams and Gurley not wanting to confirm the situation to their opponents. But now, post-season, I cant understand why Gurley hasn’t come out and talked about it.

    This “it wasn’t an injury, it was an aggravation” line is problematic.

    That’s what I was saying a week ago, too.

    But – I know times have changed – but Nixon committed fewer crimes than Trump. This guy is filthy on every front. And it’s in a fishbowl. And the problem for the System is that Not Doing Anything will also tear the thing apart. I think the only path to stability is going to see Trump pay a price.

    As hard as it is to imagine a president going to trial…I just cannot see an alternative at this point except something that openly terminates the illusion of democracy. And I think the illusion of democracy is too valuable to the powers that be, and has too many people committed to the System.

    ==================

    Ok, well, you are dead wrong 🙂

    You still have some scintilla of faith in the institutions in this shit-hole. Things are much worse than in the Nixon days. Nixon was a fluke, anyway. Without all those tapes, he would have strolled into the sunset.

    Some big parts of the deep-state dont like trump. But they’ll be patient. They’ll make sure the dems win the next election. And then we’ll get back to the slower version of biosphere destruction, mega-lies, and surreal-inequality. Go Dems 🙂

    What planet are you on, Z ? 🙂 Have you seen the reaction to all that stuff, by the rightwingers?

    12 people on a jury. Gotta figure plenty of them would be rightwingers.

    He aint goin to jail. He aint even gonna be put on trial. The system would worry too much about “tearing the country apart” etc, etc. The system will probly just hope he doesnt get re-elected. Let him ride off into the sunset. (and no he wont try to hold onto power)

    Yeah, true, but Maher often-times is the epitome of the elitist-snob. He is really good (and funny) on a lot of things. And then there’s the faceplant stuff. He’s basically a thomas-friedman-corporate-dem at heart. Only funnier.

    Prostitution is often seen as a “victimless crime” but that’s certainly not true if human sex trafficking is involved. It will be interesting to see if Kraft knew about the sex trafficking. My guess is he did.

    The Stupid on that channel is truly something.

    It has become satire of itself. And it’s really…I mean…people believe this stuff. They really believe it.

    I ran into someone on the net the other day who believes that Barack is gay, and Michelle is a man, and their two kids are not really their kids. Seriously.

    This network is dangerous.

    ================

    Well what’s scarier is that the opposition to the ‘dangerous-network’ is…CNN, ABC, NBC, etc.

    But you know all that.

    I just never think of Fox/talk-radio in isolation anymore. I always think of Fox/NY-Times/Wash-Post/MSNBC/NPR/PBS/CBS/ABC…

    Corporate Capitalism.

    This growing, consolidating, deadly system does seem to be churning up some progressives though. Bernie, Ocasio, etc. A few candles in the shit-storm probly, but who knows.

    Ive noticed when the usual-tv-comedians (colbert, trevor, etc) show graphics on the Dem field of candidates — they always have K.Harris in the center and in front. Not surprising. The new Hillary. The choice of the
    powers that be.

    I’ve watched some media-vids. The usual pundits. I havent heard ‘too’ many idiotic things, but there is a general…oh…lack of nuance. I mean, yes, Belichick is a great coach, but its also true he cam within one bad call or one play of losing that Chief game. And young McVay’s team was right there with the Pats in the 4th quarter.

    If there’s one thing I’ve learned about playoff football, its that there just aint much separation among the teams. A play here, a play there, is always gonna be the difference. Playoff football is just like that. Usually. Unless you are the 85 Bears, etc.

    I’m not even sure the Pats are the best team this year. If they played the Chiefs again, who would be favored?

    I do think the Pats and Belichick have been the best over the last two decades, but the ‘separation’ in each individual year is never that much. Thats my point. The separation is very small. A play here, a play there. But man, they are the best at holding tight to that tiny separation. They’ve been doing it forever now. Same ole Patriots.

    Wade’s defense really showed up during the playoffs. Thirteen points for Brady, in the Super Bowl — are you kidding me?

    Ah well.

    They need to have Kupp healthy next year. They need to have Gurley healthy next year. And they need to get some depth on the OLine. Thats about it.
