wvParticipantUntil Britain voted in Boris Johnson in a landslide, I disagreed with that.
Now…I expect Trump to win.
=============
wvParticipant“…Goff ranks sixth in PFF overall grade from a clean pocket (92.7) since 2017. Over that same stretch, his 45.9 grade under pressure ranks 20th. That is the second-highest rank difference of any quarterback in the sample…”
===================One of the problems with stats like that is Not all Pressure is Equal. The stat treats all ‘pressure’ equally. (I wonder what qualifies as ‘pressure’ btw)

Higbee becomes the fourth TE since 1970 to go 100+ in four straight….
…. Oh, also, no TE has gone 100+ receiving yards in 5 straight. Higbee can set a record.
If you recall, Higbee went 7-107-1 vs ARI.
=============================Well its been a rather strange season. Back when the Rams were 3-0, who would have predicted, that by game 16, the opposing team’s would be saying, “We have to find a way to stop Higbee”
w

wvParticipantIt would be nice if Dallas lost. Just on principle.

wvParticipantThis game didn’t bother me that much. What bothered me was losing to the Cowboys like we did. That was embarrassing.

I agree, but i dont wanna see any 8 and 8 bullshit.
I wanna see 9 and 7 bullshit.

wvParticipantMcVay: “And whatever happens… We’re gonna let our nuts hang and see what happens.”
==================I think that should be the title of any 2020 Rams Program.
I think General Patton said somethin like that. Or maybe it was Cleopatra. Or Chuck Norris. I dunno.
PS — notice how the tone of the players and coach is that the season is already OVER. Good luck getting up for the Cardinals.
w
v
wvParticipant49ers are just a better team this year.
Rams are what their record says they are.
It’d be nice to finish with a winning season. I dunno if they can get up for the Cards though.

wvParticipant“Is Trump a genuine menace to constitutional order and the rule of law? Demonstrably….
…This is an important day, a momentous day, a historic day…”
======================Well, i get that point of view, and i respect it, but my own view is just simply darker than that. It all comes down to just how bad you think the “constitutional order” really, actually, truly, IS. Is there really, truly, actually, a “rule of law” that is even close to the ‘textbook’ version?
If you think a flawed, but fairly decent government existed before Trump, then
sure, its an ‘important, momentous day,’ etc.But if you have a darker view of what existed before trump — then the whole entire thing just looks like a sham.
For me the entire system needs impeached. For me, this is just like removing a CEO from Monsanto or Haliburton. Its another version of ‘one bad apple’ in a fine orchard.
What modern president hasn’t authorized horrendous, murderous things?
So for me, impeachment just doesnt matter. To me. Doesnt matter one way
or the other.‘Tactically’ I suspect it helps the Dems a bit, fwiw.
Anyway, blah blah blah 🙂

wvParticipantIts interesting that only 3 head-coaches go without an offensive coordinator.
Maybe it would help, but it definitely wouldnt matter if the OLine dont get fixed.

wvParticipantKurt Warner wondering if Lamar is having the ‘best year an nfl QB has ever had’
wvParticipant“..Robert Woods has supplanted Kupp as the top option for Goff in the second half of the season..”
—————-Why is this? We’ve all noticed it. But why? Kupp was un-coverable early in the year. Then he kinda dropped into the background.

wvParticipantI had to check on that Iceland thing. Maybe we should all move to Ice Land:
“…Reykavik, Iceland – The parliament of this small North Atlantic country made history today by declaring the Southern Baptist Convention a terrorist organization. The resolution passed unanimously with many lawmakers cheering in celebration.
Andrew Kanard represents the town of Laugar. “What is terrorism? Using fear to achieve political goals,” he explained. “The Southern Baptist Convention uses the fear of eternal torment to help it achieve anti-lgbtq legislation, a pro-gun culture, gutting pro-environment regulations, attempting to stop the legalization of marijuana, and inhumane treatment of undocumented workers in the United States. They are the very definition of terrorists.”
Polls say the citizens of Iceland overwhelmingly support the position. Out of 3,500 people questioned, 88% state American fundamentalist Christianity is the number one danger to the world…”

wvParticipantHard for me to believe the Rams are fourth in the NFL in ‘explosive plays.’
w
vWell, they have had a lot of plays blow up in their faces.
Rate the Flamer:
That was pretty good, actually, although it’s never easy to watch Nittany wipe the venom off his chin whenever he talks about the Rams.

v
wvParticipantI have been liking Hammond’s writings, lately.
======================
I think it all starts with left tackle. They absolutely need to figure out what they’re going to do there, and the options are pretty slim. If Whitworth doesn’t come back, I’m not sure you want Noteboom sliding over while coming off a major knee injury, and I’m not sure Havenstein or Evans project as left tackles. So that is BY FAR the biggest question. Beyond that there suddenly are a lot of options for the other four positions…
we’re really talking about two games when the run defense was subpar: Baltimore and Dallas. Other than that, it’s been one of the best run defenses in the league. That said, it was awful in both of those games…
=================
Whitworth has to come back for one more year. Someone needs to talk him in to that.
I hate bad OLines. I remember back in the 70’s and 80’s the Rams OLines were never injured and they were always good to great. How in the hell did they do that? And that was back when Defenders were allowed to use hammers and pick-axes.
w
v
wvParticipantNot sure how Gurley makes it to the alternate level,
but ok.The Ravens have 12 pro-bowl players? That says something.
I dunno what.w
v
wvParticipantHard for me to believe the Rams are fourth in the NFL in ‘explosive plays.’
w
v
wvParticipantWell, sometimes the other team just plays lights out. Dallas is talented and they played awesome ball. They can beat anyone when they play like that.
As far as the Rams, we know what their fatal-flaw is. The defense may have some weird mystery games now and then, but we know where the problem really is.
Can they fix the OLine next year?
w
v
wvParticipantDallas has been waitng for that game since the playoffs last year.
Made the Cowboys look like the Ravens.
Can they finish with a winning record at least?

wvParticipantOn his way to class, a leftist English teacher is stopped by another English teacher, a bright guy who is not a leftist.
Not Leftist (with wild, excited eyes): Hey! Are you teaching The Things They Carried (an excellent Vietnam book) this term?
Leftist: Yeah. Finishing it up right now.
Not Leftist (eagerly): Did you hear about the whole thing that was running in the Washington Post?
Leftist (something about the book? About O’Brien? About Vietnam?): Uh…?
Not Leftist (bursting at the seams): Afghanistan! They’ve been lying about it for 18 years! They’ve been covering up that we’re not getting anywhere.
Leftist: Um….
Not Leftist (Touchdown!): Like Vietnam!
Leftist (who finally sees what we’re doing here, and is staggered by the fact that the fairly bright Not Leftist has just learned that Afghanistan is a quagmire): Um…yeah, I read some of that…(but stopped because there was not one goddamn thing in the article that was news)…amazing.
Not Leftist: Just going in circles pointlessly, like The Things They Carried.
Leftist: Yeah. Cool. Thanks. Good connection. Gotta go. (shuffles off to job that is feels close to pointless some days).

wvParticipant…Is the main rationale for leaving the belief in how much horrible shit we’ve done to the rest of the world, and to ourselves?
Or is it to find a better place to be, in and of itself?
If it’s the latter…=====================
Good questions, Comrad. I can only say, for ‘me’ its just that I cant stand ordinary-amerikans anymore. Its like being surrounded by Frankensteins. They didnt ask to be turned into dangerous-idiots but thats what they are. Blah blah blah.
I just prefer the company of trees, birds, ferns, and tapirs at this point in my life.
Who knows though. Maybe humanity will surprise me, the way the 99 Rams did.
I get caught in the spam filter from time to time now, btw. I blame the deep-spam-state.
w
v
wvParticipantThe Cowboys are talented but gutless.
The Rams will have this game in hand by the middle of the second quarter.
======================
It would be a nice season if the Rams could somehow knock the Cowboys and the Vikings out of the playoffs. That would be a fine year.
Do you think there’s such a thing as a ‘superbowl hangover’? Did it hit the Patriots too?
w
v
wvParticipantI think many people have suspected these things for years and it is nice to have it documented with real quotes from insiders. But at the end of the day, the country doesn’t care.
===================
Yeah, I had typed a sentence in my post about the public not caring, but I deleted it. I didnt want to beat a dead, decayed, maggoty, maimed, disfigured, very sad horse.
This nation jumped the shark. I dont know when exactly, but its done jumped the shark.
And I’ll say that even if Bernie wins the election. The deep-state is what it is.
w
vYeah, I was thinking something kinda ironic yesterday…Bernie, and the Green New Deal. Like…it’s GND or die, and it may be too late anyway, even if we get the GND.
But I was thinking…at best, Bernie can save the planet. But he CAN’T save America. The forces of Greed have learned propaganda techniques that work, and there is no antidote. America is over.
I’m leaving, btw. I can’t take it anymore, and I’m out. I’ve got about 3 more years of work before I reach my maximum “multiplier” for my retirement pension, and I’m leaving shortly after I hit the nexus between my age and that multiplier. After I hit that mark, there is less incentive to keep working. I’m going to go set up my life in a different country, probably moving from one country to the next, until I become feeble, or I die, whichever comes first. But I am basically done here. I am seeking a divorce from the United States of America.
===================
Interesting thoughts, Zooey, my friend.
Almost Every single day I sit here and watch utubes of how to build a tiny-house out of cob or barn-wood or tires, etc, and move more-or-less off the grid. Do Permaculture, and that sort of thing. I often feel trapped in my life.
I think I’m too old to make such a big change and to learn a new way of life. I probably wont do it. But i ‘want’ to, and i feel trapped…ah well.
I want a divorce from corporate-civilization.
w
v
wvParticipantI think the Rams are back.
May be too late for this season, but we’ll see.
If they get in – who wants to face them?
That was my thought, too.
But they are going to have to win all three games, and that includes beating the 9ers in SF.
=====================
You guyz are crazy. No way this Oline has the talent to be good enough this year.
I hate hopeful behavior in a man. I wont tolerate Hope.
w
v
wvParticipantIts a playoff game for both teams. Plus a revenge-game for Dallas. One would think the Cowboys would be sky-high for this one. Jason Garret will play the “everyone has given up on us” card in the locker-room.
I dunno. I find it hard to believe the Rams OLine has fixed itself. I am a doubter.
