    LATIMES.COM

Sept. 10: INDIANAPOLIS, 1 p.m. PT, (Ch. 2, CBS) — The last time Colts quarterback Andrew Luck played in the Coliseum, he helped Stanford to a 56-48, triple-overtime victory over USC. Linebacker Akeem Ayers, cut by the Rams last year, plays for the Colts.

Sept. 17: WASHINGTON, 1:15 p.m., (Ch. 11, Fox) — New Rams coach Sean McVay, the Redskins’ former offensive coordinator, will entertain — and attempt to beat — old friends. Former Rams receiver Brian Quick signed with Washington.

Sept. 21: at San Francisco, 5:15 p.m., (NFL Network) — Jared Goff is on track to finally play in his home region after spending the 2016 opener at Levi’s Stadium inactive. McVay, at 31 the NFL’s youngest coach, goes up against the 49ers’ Kyle Shanahan, 37, the second youngest.

Oct. 1: at Dallas, 10 a.m., (Ch. 11) — The Rams play the Cowboys in August in their first preseason game and then travel to Jerry’s World in Week 4. Running back Lance Dunbar no doubt wants to make an impact against his old team.

Oct. 8: SEATTLE, 1, (Ch. 2) — Don’t count on a repeat of 2016, when the Rams defeated the Seahawks and a hobbled Russell Wilson at the Coliseum without scoring a touchdown. The Seahawks added running back Eddie Lacy in the offseason.

Oct. 15: at Jacksonville, 1 p.m., (Ch. 11) — Will the Jaguars have drafted a quarterback to replace Blake Bortles? The Rams will probably spend a few extra days in Florida before leaving for London.

Oct. 22: vs. Arizona Cardinals at London, 10 a.m. (Ch. 11) — The Rams are 0-2 in London, including last season’s loss against the New York Giants at Twickenham Stadium. This year’s later kickoff time will make TV viewing in Los Angeles a bit easier.
    Oct. 29: Off.

Nov. 5: at New York Giants, 10 a.m., (Ch. 11) — After last season’s trip to London, and a bye, the Rams played at home. This season, they must go across the country to play against Eli Manning, Odell Beckham Jr. and company.

Nov. 12: HOUSTON, 1 p.m., (Ch. 2) — Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips coached with the Texans for three seasons. With the Brock Osweiler experiment over and wished-for Tony Romo in the CBS broadcast booth, who starts at quarterback for the Texans?

Nov. 19: at Minnesota, 10 a.m., (Ch. 11) —There is optimism in Rams Land, but it’s doubtful that the Rams will make more than one trip to this season’s Super Bowl site. Former Rams starting quarterback Case Keenum is a backup for Sam Bradford.

Nov. 26: NEW ORLEANS, 1 p.m., (Ch. 11) —With former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams gone to Cleveland, this matchup lacks the intrigue from last season’s Williams-Sean Payton “Bountygate” reunion. Rams defensive line coach Bill Johnson came from the Saints staff.

Dec. 3: at Arizona, 1:15 p.m., (Ch. 11) — The Rams mistakenly thought they were legitimate contenders when they defeated the Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium in 2016. Will McVay deliver an early Christmas present to Arizona coach Bruce Arians, a la Jeff Fisher?

Dec. 10: PHILADELPHIA, 1:15 p.m., (Ch. 11) — It’s the compare-and-contrast bowl as Rams quarterback Jared Goff, the No. 1 pick in the 2016 draft, faces an Eagles team led by No. 2 pick Carson Wentz. Rams linebacker Connor Barwinfaces his most recent employer.

Dec. 17: at Seattle, 1 p.m., (Ch. 11) — At least it’s not a cold Thursday night game this year. Will cornerback Richard Sherman still be with Seahawks to revisit the tackle he made on Goff?

Dec. 24: at Tennessee, 10 a.m., (Ch. 11) —Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota, the second pick in the 2015 draft, appears to be hitting his stride. The Rams not only fired Jeff Fisher, but also the roster is now void of players with Titans ties.

Dec. 31: SAN FRANCISCO, 1:15 p.m., (Ch. 11) — Quarterback Colin Kaepernick, a free agent, apparently won’t be in position to beat the Rams in the final seconds at the Coliseum for a second year in a row. It shapes up as a rockin’ New Year’s Eve in L.A. with Chargers also entertaining the Raiders.
Times also were announced for most of the Rams’ preseason games: Aug. 12, vs. Dallas, 6 p.m., (Ch. 2); Week 2, TBA, at Oakland; Aug. 26, vs. Chargers, 5 p.m., (Ch. 2); Aug. 31, at Green Bay, 4 p.m. (Ch. 2).

I forget what comedian said that we cheer for laundry.

It was Seinfeld, coincidentally to your post it’s the same show where Woody Allen gave Kramer a line in his movie…… “These pretzels are making me thirsty”

despite the thread with Sally being deleted and Zooey being blocked by Sally…… the seed has been planted in Sally’s and other people’s minds who read the thread that sometimes it’s ok to buy generic pretzels (Bernie or HRC) to help the overall brand of the company (The Dem Party) in the long run.

It wasn’t about winning the debate against Sally, it was making people aware of the very valid factual points made in the facebook thread by Zooey…..

a continued awareness needs to be made, we need to keep planting these factual seeds in people’s minds……..

    Zooey, you’re my fucking hero…….

Here is a fact: a higher percentage of Sanders voters cast votes for Hillary in the general than Hillary supporters did for Obama in 2008. So you should just shut up about that.

YOU don’t own the party, Sally. You don’t get to tell anybody else what belongs in the party, and what doesn’t. It isn’t YOUR party, and there is a strong movement afoot to take it back so it serves the bottom 90%.

This one below is gold Zooey,…… gold!

LOL. Okay, Sherlock, your superpower sleuthing skills have helped you learn that your progressive credentials are stronger than mine. You go cling to that old tyme religion. It’s winning you a lot of elections. Like you can’t even get the most qualified human ever to run for President elected, but that’s the fault of the people who identify as progressives, but can’t hold a candle to you, and hate women. Carry on telling people they don’t belong in YOUR party, and see if that brings up your vote tallies.

    I’m stealing this one…….

What do you think would empower women more: increased wages, health care, and free higher education? Or a woman in the Oval Office? Cuz if you think having a woman in the Oval Office is somehow going to benefit women, I ask you to explain to me how blacks are better off now than they were before Obama was elected. And before you answer, consider the fact that #BlackLivesMatter arose in the second term of a black president. Obama did next to nothing to help blacks, and that’s exactly how much Clinton would have helped women.

    Game, set, Match…. fuck Sally.

Then I go to Sally’s FB page to see what’s happening there…AND I AM BLOCKED! Completely blocked! I get an Error Message.

People can’t handle the truth, because they don’t know what it is…….

    please keep enlighten people!

Trump voters fear diversity? Well-not all do. At least not in my neck of the woods. Most people I know who own their own business voted for the guy for one simple reason: they think he will lower their corporate tax rate and allow them to either buy more toys or expand their business. None of them appear to have any negative attitudes toward other ethnic groups. Their votes were simply -in their mind-a matter of economics. If they could use a diverse population in their own businesses they would-and from what I see-they have. But then again they are fairly well educated and would be considered “upper class”-whatever that means.

it depends what type of companies these voters work for or run……

multinational companies, even those that are headquartered in the US will be subject to his policies, even with the corporate tax breaks. The trade agreements that he wants to extinguish will impact these companies big time, in both price and the speed to do business outside the US…..

Folks tend to forget that Most US multinational companies have a majority of their corporate revenue outside the US.

Most of the folks that I know in the very diverse SF Bay Area who actually voted for Trump want the return of vanilla ice cream.

They aren’t moving until after the stadium is built, and they don’t even have renderings of it yet. They will be another couple of years in Oakland no matter what, so they presumably won’t be up and coming at that point.

    ———–

O man. So the Oakland fans are gonna keep them for another year or two?

Thats gonna be weird. And ugly. And fun to watch.

    w
    v

the window of opportunity to win a SB in Oakland is open now.

they have the team and structure in place.

    1) They have the GM (Executive of the year)
    2) They have the coach
    3) They have the franchise QB
    4) They have a young balanced team.
    5) Tom Brady is old, thus Oakland can get deep in the playoffs….

This open window could’ve also taken advantage of the SF bay area fan base, as the 49ers window to win now is far from open, but Oakland wants the big payday in a much smaller market in Vegas….

2 years is a long time to be lame duck…. anything can happen, I’m not sold yet on the LV Raiders.

    1) same with Goff at QB, struggles with grasping the offense…
    2) the line struggled with playing with blocking for Gurley last year.

a very common tale amongst 49er fans this season…..

reality is 2-14 was the reason that they didn’t watch games…..

Sadly, the Rams were 0-2 against them.

    a couple of things….

    1) I have always thought that if CK7 didn’t losE the starting gig in SF that he wouldn’t have taken a knee…..

    2) hmm……. Tom Brady a member of the black panther party ? I’m sure Boston wouldn’t care after the 4th qtr in the Super Bowl, but I’m not sure the Black Panther Oakland chapter were too happy with the Tuck Rule….they’d never let Brady in the party in the 1st place…..

He’s a very good QB…… I’d take him over most of the NFL playoff QBs from last year, with the exception of Rodgers, Wilson and Carr…… I’d take Sam over Brady only because Brady is 105 years old in NFL years….

Give me Sam over Prescott, Ryan, Big Ben, Alex Smith and Dieter Osweiler…..

Before Tom Brady came back against the Falcons, CK7 overcame a 17-0 deficit to beat the Falcons in ATL for a playoff game…

teams gave 2nd chances to dickheads like Jeff George, Jay Cutler, Mark Sanchez and I’ll put Brock Osweiler on the list…..

for as bad as he CK7 has played the past 2 years, the guy showed that he can play and win in some big games.

    wow, what a dick…. (Brock O)

Brock must have been pissed for losing his starting job to Tom Savage….. Brock was lucky the Raiders had to start Cook over Carr in the playoffs… Texans Offense was terrible with Brock……..

    Tom Savage from Wiki:
In 2016, Savage entered the Week 15 game in the second quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars in relief of Brock Osweiler, who was benched after throwing back-to-back first half interceptions. Savage brought the team back from a 13–0 deficit and completed 23-of-36 pass attempts for 260 passing yards as he led the Texans to a 21–20 comeback win.

Savage was named the starting quarterback for the week 16 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He completed 18-of-29 passes for 176 yards in the 12-10 win against the Bengals, clinching the AFC South title for the Texans. In Week 17, Savage left the game in the second quarter with an apparent concussion but later returned to the game for one play; which was a kneeldown at the end of the second quarter. During halftime, he was re-evaluated for a concussion and ruled out for the rest of the game. Due to Savage’s injury, Osweiler started the team’s Wild Card Round playoff win against the Oakland Raiders. Shortly after the game, head coach Bill O’Brien announced that Osweiler would remain the team’s starter for the Divisional round playoff game.[19] Savage then cleared concussion protocol and was Osweiler’s backup for the Divisional round playoff loss against the New England Patriots.

I think people care about things that personally impact them.

    1) MAC I don’t think people will keep track very long… very short memories. The majority of folks that I know that voted for Trump don’t realize or forgot how much of a mess the country was in when Obama took over, on the brink of economic depression, the US$ was in the tank, unemployment was high, if was a complete mess…… I ask people that complain about Obama, “what did Barry do in the past 8 years that affected you in a negative way?” they have no valid answer, in fact, some of these voters benefited from getting out of their foreclosures and ended up with new homes in the past 6 years and they still think democrats are bullshit….

When they tell me that they voted for Trump over HRC after Trump was the biggest ass on the campaign trail, they bring up Clinton corruption and email BS. I reply, the FBI doesn’t fuck around and will bust people as warranted, but they don’t get it. They don’t care that Trump U was a fraud, they don’t care that he went bankrupt 6 times, they don’t care that he grabbed pussy and marred a commie’s daughter… they don’t care….

    2) Waterfield is right, these people think president’s cabinet is something you install in your kitchen or bathroom.. they have no friggen clue…..they think Devos wrote and sang “WHIP IT”

    3) It’s gonna take a big fucking impact like the great recession of 2007… they don’t like women in charge and they don’t like minorities in charge, you can’t reason with these people, they blame ISIS in Obama and have no clue that Bush invaded the wrong country that spawned a lot of this mess.

I mean how could Bush II win a second term against Kerry?

Savage, Rush, Hannity and these right wing hacks successfully did their job and with explosion of social media, these people are getting news based on their ideals…..

These right wing voters are more loyal to the party than we are to the RAMS after 13 losing seasons…….at least we complain and are very critical about the Rams inept performances, these voters RARELY, IF EVER are critical of the people they voted for…..

I don’t think Isaac Bruce will get in…..

Either way, Atlanta never had to be a clutch team all season. They were always front runners.
You;re not in clutch situations if your offense is outscoring teams by that margin all season. In fact there was only 1 game all year where the Falcons had to win the game coming from behind and that was against Green Bay’s mediocre defense. Yesterday in contrast Ryan was put in a clutch situation against a very good defense.

So I blame LaFleur for coaching the Falcons to be season-long frontrunners who never learned how to play in clutch time.

Sort of like the 2001 Rams…. …..ironically, one of the tightest games that the Rams actually won during the 2001 regular season was in New England…….the other 3 close games, the Rams lost to the Bucs, Saints and ultimately the Pats in the SB…

It’s a special skill to manage a game to win during crunch time…..Belichick does that very very well…..
