According to TST, he said this in the Eric Dickerson show…

    Jason Stewart @JasonStewart
“From what I am hearing, Jeff Fisher’s fate will be sealed after the next four games.” – @FredNBCLA on The @EricDickerson show just now
    4:37 PM – 24 Oct 2016 · Bellflower, CA, United States

Next 4 games are Carolina, at NY Jets, Miami, at New Orleans. All winnable games.

Of course, it isn’t mentioned how many of these next four games he has to win.

I never heard of Fred Roggin before. Have no idea how reliable he is.

I’m assuming Fisher would have to go 3-1. But after the 3 game losing streak, it would not be surprising if Fisher has to go undefeated in those game to get an extension.

to play in a 3-4 defensive scheme? I know we may have to build with some new LBs and all. Could Robert Quinn, and Eugene Simms play as 3-4 OLBers? How about the DLine? Just some thought. If Ken Norton Jr became the new HC, he may install that type of D.

This teams strength is on the d-line. Seems to me it’s more suited to be a base 4-3 team. All defenses, including the Rams give offenses a 3-4 look every now and then though.

To be honest, we are playing a 4-2-5.

All that being said, ZN, who do you REALLY want to take over after Fisher?

i dont know i cant think that many years ahead…(nyuk nyuk nyuk).
    .

Who would you like to see, if Fisher is not resigned? Meaning Fisher and his staff will be looking for a new job elsewhere at the end of the 2016 season.

“””””Darrell Bevell OC Seattle Seahawks, and Ken Norton Jr. DC Oakland Raiders. “””””””””

Norton’s defense is dead last in team defense…
    Seattle’s offense is ranked 27,

    No thanks….

Yeah, that was my thought as well.

Norton is running a defense that is Jack Del Rio’s style of defense, not his. I feel, it will be different if he gets here.
Bevell is an OC, and we have a whole lot more talent than what Seattle has, other than QB.

I like Teryl Austin he is one of three guys I would consider, the other two are Darrell Bevell OC Seattle Seahawks, and Ken Norton Jr. DC Oakland Raiders. If you want a veteran HC, there is a rumor that Marvin Lewis and Mike Tomlin could be let go at the end of the season.

Eventually, the team is going to get sick of Fisher, to the point, where it will not be a shock to see the players quit on him.

I don’t see that happening. At all. Unlike some of us, the players wouldn’t blame him for everything. But that’s just my version of guessing/mindreading to balance your version.

I’m saying that Fisher is deflecting blame off himself. Fisher is basically saying he didn’t do anything wrong.

3-4 is still in the hunt…maybe a bit of a longshot but still in the hunt.

9 games to go and we can look back at 2-3 of those losses that could have easily been wins…just turn those around the 2nd half and get on a run.

If a team get’s hot and builds confidence they can roll of 3, 4, 5 wins in a row.

    ————–

Yup. They can still go 12-4

Teams like the Rams (mediocre-wildcard-level) are always a play or two
from winning three or four in a row. I mean, a play here a play there
and they beat the Giants and the Lions and are sitting at 5-2.

That doesn’t mean i think they are a ‘good’ team, but they are
a slowly emerging team, imho. I think they are headed in the right direction.
I think. I wont fight about it

I would think the Bye would help. One would think that. Ya know.

wv you must be taking some weird drugs, or something is strange is in the water you are drinking in West Virginia. You are hallucinating if you think we are a wild card team, or even going in the right direction. I like you buddy, but I just don’t see it. Jeff Fisher is wasting the talent we have/had, and they will go somewhere else to be successful. Fisher has not done a good job of making this team better. We need to be a lot better that another 7-9 season.

Lost in all this, is the fact that the Giants got to play the Rams
    on a neutral field.

IF they play at home, in LA….who knows?

As dismal and mediocre and boring as this Ram team is, 3-4 is
still on the cusp of the last playoff berth.

It aint over. I know a LOT of folks are in furious-fire-everyone mode,
but its hardly beyond reason to think they might win two in a row
    and find themselves at 5-4.

Next game is a Must-Win though. If they go two games under .500 they are toast.

Next game is a playoff game.

I believe the same thing would have happened if the game was in LA.

    Yeah I was joking, Jack.

Although John Clayton and others think the extension has already been signed or at least agreed upon…

My gut says he has not signed. And if Stan cares, and knows he has to sell to the fans. He would have been smart to tell Fisher, if you don’t make the playoffs, look elsewhere for another job.

I apologize for how I worded it, but the thread was about the accumulation of losses, not about the game itself. This is how can anyone say that Fisher deserves an extension, when he has done nothing but lose. How is Stan going to sell signing an extention to Fisher to the LA fan base? He can’t. Fans will see an owner that doesn’t care about winning, and don’t mind below mediocre football. Resigning Fisher spells that to the fans. If Fisher resigns, there will be less and less Ram fans.

After three straight losses Rams fans need cheering up.

Lessee’, the Rams will undoubtedly be announcing Fisher’s five year extension pretty soon…maybe they can add that Goff will start the first week after the bye?

There, two things for Rams fans to look forward to.

Fisher signing an extension is a bad thing. How are you going to excite the LA fan base, giving an extension to a losing head coach? The fans in LA, scratching their heads, knowing signing Fisher to an extension means you don’t care. Below mediocre is fine. That is what Fisher gives you. LA fans are smart and know as longbas hebis here, the Rams will never see the playoffs. I will probably hit powerball jackpot before the Rams make the playoffs with Jeff Fisher as Head Coach

GRob was very bad…LT’s a key missing element right now.

I give CK at fault for 2 of his 4 INT’s today

I put the coaching staff at fault for the red flags that again killed us all day.

Quick had a very good game except for the miscommunication to end the game.

TA made a critical mistake by not handling the catch that resulted in a pick-6, but had a pretty good game and made some critical 3rd down pick ups.

I thought GRob got some bad calls. Also. I felt that the refs missed an illegal shove, and a PI call, both on the Giants the one that Britt was coming down inside, the Giant db pushed Britt, and was not looking for the ball.

A Head Coach. This team needs a real Head Coach. One that can win games.

Jack, so you think a team’s performance falls all on the coach even when his best players are injured? The coach should be able to plug any player in and get good results? In other words the player doesn’t matter – only the coach matters.

If that’s the case then why does the NFL pay millions of dollars on scouting departments? Why do they spend millions flying scouts to college games to evaluate players and why do they fly entire coaching staffs to a dozen or more college combines and pro days every year? If what you say is true then why doesn’t every team in the league simply stock their teams with cheap scrubs?

Because the players do matter, right? And the better they are the more they matter and the harder they are to replace. That’s why coaches can’t be expected to do as well when too many key pieces of their roster are hurt. The players matter.

The scouts get players to plug into systems that fits what the coaches need. It is still up to the coach to develop the player, and have them ready for the just in case. As a coach, you have to be prepared for everything.

I would expect next men up, be coached up, and prepared to play well.

So you think there are teams 2 deep when it comes to a top pass-rushing right defensive end?

Name the teams you;ve known through all NFL history that were 2 deep that way. That is they could afford to lose a top pass rushing end because they didn’t lose anything with the next guy up. How many teams have ever been that deep at end? (And that’s not to mention the fact that it’s both a top corner and a top end.)

Because see the issue is, not replacing A player. It’s replacing one of the top players in the league.

Is a team better off with one of the top defensive ends in the league? Cause if not I don’t know why they extended him. Turns out according to you, you can get just as good production for cheaper from your bench.

I keep asking these tough but obvious questions and you keep repeating coaching cliches.

If the Head Coaches strength is defense, like Jeff Fisher is supposed to be, I would expect it to do well, even with 11 new starters. If he struggles with that, then that is a problem.

We had them against the 49ers and Buccaneers. What is the excuse?

I;m sorry Jack I hit edit instead of quote and kind of butchered your post there. I straightened it out as best I could.

But to reply to what’s there.

I don’t use the “e” word, Jack. To call someone’s argument an “excuse” is to be disdainful and dismissive.

    But back to my bet.

Now unless you claim that with Quinn, Brockers, and Johnson the Rams should never be defeated…which I doubt you would claim…then consider the bet. Do the odds favor them winning more with those 3 or less with those 3?

If you had to choose a game to bet on the Rams, would it be one where they had Quinn, Brockers, and Johnson or one where they didn’t?

I bet I know your answer, since your answer would be reasonable.

So therefore yes, having those 3 out makes a difference.

I would expect next men up, be coached up, and prepared to play well.

The defense has been without three of their best players the last couple weeks. They’ll improve when Brockers, Quinn and TruJo are back to health.

Does not matter. The Defense is his bread and butter. Injuries is a poor excuse of coaching, lack of preparedness. Outside of the Seattle game, we have struggled on D all year, and we didn’t have the injuries then.

This loss has really affected a lot of fans. I think that 3-1 start they had,
had a lot of folks starting to wonder if this could finally be the year they turned the corner,
and then the Buffalo loss, and this Detroit thing — really stung a lot of people. SOSAR. Same Ole Sorry Ass Fisher.

They are mad as hell and they aint gonna take it anymore

The teams we went to go 3-1 we were 3-1 against. Same scenario I mean. Fisher seems like he can’t beat other teams. We know he will. His record when here has him winning 7 games as usual. Heck. Fisher’s best season was his first season where it was 7-8-1. Quick was off the line by a couple of inches, on that Amendola bomb against the 49ers. Forget about that. Still, he has not managed to win more than 7 games. At this stage, being Fisher’s 5th year, we should be a Super Bowl contender, not still rebuilding. That is how most look at it.

It all comes back to coaching. Our guys are not coached well to finish games.

Well apparently it all comes back to repeating that mantra regardless of the facts.

In the last 4 games they were down late. They won two, and lost two. So apparently they are capable of it.

One of the losses they were missing both Quinn and Johnson. That made a difference. Unless you want to argue that Quinn and Johnson were injured by Fisher.

As I said, Jack, I always like good attention to the facts over autopilot coach blame stuff.

Cowboys are 5-1. They have a rookie QB, a rookie RB, no Dez Bryant, a banged up Online themselves, talent wise the worse defense in all the NFL. Their two pass rushers are just coming back from suspension. But Jason Garrett is finding a way. Remember Jason Garrett is their Head Coach. Again, Jason Garrett, is the Cowboys Head Coach. If he can go 5-1 with what he has, why can’t Fisher?

I just think this is a 7 win team without Q.

Today I think it’s more Johnson than Quinn. They have won before without Quinn. But with Johnson out, the D deteriorates more. With them BOTH playing they could win almost any game.

I know some will say that the pass rush helps the secondary but today what I saw was CB play falling below the Rams standard far more than you would expect.

Last year they went 3-2 with Keenum at qb, and Johnson playing but no Quinn.

It all comes back to coaching. Our guys are not coached well to finish games.

Okay Here are the years they’ve been exactly 3-3 since 1990.

    2015

    2013

    2012

    2010

    1991

    .

With Jeff Fisher it is a common theme. Outside his first year, where his last ten games he went 4-5-1, he went 4-6. Same Old Jeff Fisher.
