To bad, with what remaining fans left in the stands, probably didn’t see it, with all the Fire Jeff Fisher signs they were holding.

I hear Julio Jones is out for this game as well. So, the Falcons will be without their top two WRs in this game, and we should have no excuses.

I’d prefer Fisher to move up stairs, working under Demoff. Keep Snead as GM, and hire a new Head Coach. There are some names that I do consider bringing in, and not in any order,

    1. Teryl Austin DC Detroit Lions

    2. Darrell Bevell OC Seattle Seahawks

    3. Jim Bob Cooper OC Detroit Lions

    4. Ken Norton Jr. DC Oakland Raiders

    5. Urban Meyer HC Ohio State (sleeper, if he wins national title)

    6. Brian Kelly HC Notre Dame

The Coaching. Get rid of Fisher, and Boras, and hire a real head Coach and OC and we will be in business

It is not really a new system. It is still a Jeff Fisher offense. All it is, play calling. You just switch OCs, with Fisher’s type of coach, is just being masked. Unless he has an experienced OC like Norv Turner, per say, I’ll say it again, you are just masking it with a Fisher guy, and he is running Fisher’s plays.

It is a new system. How different it is from the previous system I can’t say, but it is new.

I could be wrong but I don’t think Fisher has an offensive system that he uses wherever he goes. He has a style. And regardless if the system in place is based on a WCO, Coryell, Erhardt, etc system, the playcalling and overall strategy will reflect his style – which is to use the run to set up play action.

I’m just saying, the offense I am watching has been the same, or it looks like it to me. Terminology may be different, but I see the same plays being called. Of course that looks like in my eyes. This offensive system looked the same to me throughout all of Fisher’s tenure.

ut the Rams showed all the signs of being a team on the rise last year. And the defense hasn’t been bad this year. Erratic, maybe. A few bad games. But overall, they seem to have been pretty good. Fewer sacks, fewer turnovers, but in the same ballpark.

    Defense = same system.

    Offense = new system.

Easier to maintain continuity on defense.

jack. if some dude was talking crap about you and your staff and your team would you want him on your sideline? dickerson is annoying. that whole argument is annoying. i’m annoyed dickerson even made it an issue.

even if fisher is fired i hope dickerson never sees the rams sideline again. he’s a tool.

People have talked crap about me for years. But I had a sports show on a community access channel, but it is the nature of the business. Jeff Fisher is an NFL Head Coach. He and his staff are in the business to get criticized. If they have problems getting criticized, or having crap talk about them, then they are in the wrong field or business.

I want to know what is going on.

They have been pretty stable in terms of injuries this year, and there were higher expectations this year.

    Rankings:

Sacks allowed: Rams are 8th, meaning only 7 teams have allowed more sacks.
QB hits: Middle of the pack. Ranked 17th.
Rushing: 3.3 yards per carry. Only Minnesota is worse.

That isn’t getting it done. I don’t have any individual stats, and don’t know how much they would tell us. I went to PFF, but that’s a subscription site.

It comes down to coaching. These guys are poorly coached. When the Rams organization decides to go out and hire a real Head Coach, then these issues will be fixed.

It has been 8 years since Fishers last winning season.

    Jack.

I have some advice for you.

Repeating the same things over and over without actually taking account of responses is not debate. That’s even if you are completely swallowed up in “my opinion is truth”-itis and don’t know how to actually discuss things.

I already responded to every claim you make and you did not respond to the actual response. You don’t’ want to debate, you want to post slogans. Fine. Carry on. But I;m out.

Forget about the record before coming here. This team has not shown any improvement. I see the same problems, same mistakes, over and over again. All that comes back to coaching. Fisher had 5 years, and has done nothing. I see it getting worse. I believe the fans of LA will not accept it. That is why I believe the home games will feel like road games, because the most Ram fans will not show up. That includes the home opener, next year.

Jeff Fisher is not a winner. The last time he had a team in the playoffs was 2008

Yeah that’s what some people always say.

For the record I regard it as bs.

His actually history includes teams that valley then peak. If you look at the valleys there are always reasons. For example only one team in the history of the NFL won while moving, and what tilts Fisher’s record is moving twice.

For another, he has several years there with no qb and to compound it, with multiply injured OLs. No one can name any coach that won under those specific conditions.

And so you do not know what the owner thinks. He might think like you—he might be a Recordite and not a Contextista.

But he might also be a Contextista who believes Fisher CAN win.

So typing up mere opinions as solemn sounding heavy truths aside, I don’t think you have any more clue what SK thinks than I do.

    ….

It has been 8 years since Fishers last winning season. This is his fifth year hear. The Rams should be talked about a team as a Super Bowl contender. And we are not. That is on Jeff Fisher, and his poor coaching. Players are starting to quit on him. I saw him doing all this yelling coming back from the half, most of the players I have seen, were tuning him out.

If it’s indeed true the Rams extended Fisher…then the honeymoon in LA is over.

    Until they win.

    I mean it’s that simple.

If they keep him past this year, it’s because they believe he can win.

If they’re right then the “fan revolt” thing disappears. Shrug.

Jeff Fisher is not a winner. The last time he had a team in the playoffs was 2008. The last time he won a playoff game was 2003. The Rams are not winning with Jeff Fisher. In fact as I said many times before, we will never sniff the playoffs as long as Jeff Fisher is still our Head Coach.

this team is in trouble. there’s too many problems. oline, receivers, safety, maybe even running back. quinn is done. even when he was playing, he wasn’t his old self.

4th and 1 and you give up a 40+ yard td? it’s not just one play. it’s that we see these things happen over and over again.

That is how they are coached. Fisher is losing this team, but Stan doesn’t care. But when he sees all those empty seats next year, especially the home opener.

They only lost by 16 points. IN New England! I think that is a bold statement by the Rams that they are headed in the right direction. I don’t think it’s crazy to see them losing a game like this by less than 10 points in a couple years. Exciting times ahead.

It felt to me, the Patriots were taking it easy on us. If they wanted to, the Patriots could of scored 50 on us. Just another poor performance by this coaching staff.

He must make the playoffs next year.

    Where is that said?

Or is it more speculation from the same people who said he would be fired this year?

It is a one year option. We all know it is going to be ugly next year. It will feel like 16 road games, as Ram fans will be doing other things till Fisher is fired.

i just think at some point you make a change.

    Unless, of course, you don’t.

I don;t believe the “at some point you make a change” thing IR.

I don’t see the reason for it or the logic behind it.

Let;s put it this way. It;s at least cancelled out by “at some point you commit to continuity.”

And if he starts winning all of this discussion is beside the point.

He doesn’t win. Fisher is overrated. The last winning season Fisher had, was back in 2008. Fisher better start winning, because it will be like the Rams are playing 16 road games next year.

This is a slap in the face to Ram fans. Stan extends Fisher, instead of going out and hire a real Head Coach. I guess Kronke does not care about winning, and seeing empty seats next year. I can see a lot of empty seats in the home opener. I will be watching First Take tomorrow to see what Stephen A. will say.

I agree with that, except I am going to say the offensive line needs to play better.

But, since this thread is about Fisher, I will give an opinion how he plays the game. His strategy is to limit possessions. Like what coaches do in basketball when there is no shot clock and they play a better team, “like the 4 corners offense”. This lets you steal games from better teams, but also makes the games close between lesser or equal opponents. The result is, you steal a game, but you also lose a game/s. It is not, playing not to lose, like it has been characterized. imo If you watch his games through this lens, maybe you will agree?

Don’t forget, as a whole, the Rams have drafted more OLinemen than any NFL franchise in the past 5 years. And we still suck.

Even the national media has been on Fisher. Stephen A. Smith has said he wished he could have a job like Fisher, where you can be so inept, aka you suck at your job. and still have all this job security.

If I were Spanos, an I had to move, I would consider moving to Mexico City, in Mexico. It expands the market. The Chargers basically would own the Country, as they are the only sports franchise south of the border, from the 4 major sports leagues. Just a thought. Those fans are very knowledgeable as well.

My bet? They do not regard GR as a bust, they will not draft high to replace him, and will instead use picks on the deepest position in the draft and what (I think) they will regard as their priority need–DE.

In fact I think they take 2, one for each side.

They will be able to get 2 this draft even without a 1st rounder because the position is THAT deep.

I don’t expect it either. I believe if we do draft Morgan, or someone like him, it will be middle rounds, for depth purposes. Morgan can play either Guard or Tackle positions. As I said, he could provide depth if we go his way. Still, can’t go wrong with going with a product from The Kutztown University either. Just saying. LOL.

How can he be banned if he has a lifetime sidelines pass at every NFL game?

Coach Fisher calls Dickerson on the phone, and tells him as long as he is Head Coach, I don’t want you here. Dickerson got pissed, and tells the media about it, and Jeff Fisher now has to lie about it. Jeff Fisher should be gone. If you saw the video I posted from First Take, which is above. You can see how they feel about Jeff Fisher, including Stephen A. Smith.

How about playoff appearances. This will be his 22nd year, and he has only been in the playoffs, 6 times. Fisher is on the verge of being the losingest Head Coach in NFL history. He just past Tom Landry for 2nd most, soon will reach Dan Reeves. Both are Hall of Famers. Something Jeff Fisher will never be.

We would be lucky to get to 8-8. For me, I don’t care if we play boring football, or exciting football, ala GSOT days. I just want winning football. I want playoff football. I want our team to be considered a Super Bowl contender.

That is the real problem. ED is intimidating. Sounds like the organization is trying to find something else to blame, but not look at themselves. This usually shows dysfunction with the organization. Stan Kronke seems he is more concerned about building a new stadium than worrying about having a winning team. We have a Head Coach that does not know how to win games. Plus, we will never sniff the playoffs, as long as he is still here as Head Coach.

at himself in the mirror and realize that it is best for him to retire from coaching, and move upstairs. He could help look for the new Head Coach. By doing that, he will show class and do the right thing to let someone else be the guy. Fisher does not have it. Fisher has to know, the LA Rams organization, will never sniff the playoffs, if he is still here as Head Coach.

    I hope he sticks around.

I don’t buy your take on what it is he should “see.” I think that’s just you seeing what you see.

So we have different votes on this. Fwiw.

And admittedly neither of us knows what will happen.

I want our team in the playoffs. Jeff Fisher will never make the playoffs as long as he is still here. I, like most don’t see a reason to keep Fisher. How did Fisher show you he deserves another year? He has not proven anything, except losing. You know fans will not show up in the Colosseum nextyear if Jeff Fisher is still Head Coach. I don’t see winning on the horizon, especially next year. Again what did Fisher show you, that he deserves another year?

It could get worse. The 9ers are playing better each week. And they are scary. Who knows which Cardinals team will show up to play us the end of the year. There is a chance we could go winless by the end of the year. Does not look good. It is time to start thinking about who should be the new Head Coach of the Rams? Jeff Fisher has not proven anything on why he should keep his job. I hope Fisher sees his ways and retire from Coaching, and take a front office job.
