InvaderRamModeratorIt would appear somewhat likely that he would take over Lamarcus Joyner’s former FS duties & Weddle would be brought in as SS
i’ll be interested to see how that all develops.
LOL…. What are the odds????? pic.twitter.com/Mf5xXdQhlX

InvaderRamModerator“[W]e’ve talked a little bit about the flexibility that Michael Brockers does give you to play nose and five,” Snead said. “Then it gets into, do we add anybody else during free agency or the draft? And what his flexibility allows you to do is to pick the best player and not necessarily, ‘We’ve got to have a nose tackle,’ because, hey, maybe the best five technique will move down. So it does give you some flexibility and that’s what we are going to do there.”
that settles it.
it’s either lawrence or tillery with the first pick.
InvaderRamModeratorwouldn’t be the worst idea. from what i remember he can play inside as well.
InvaderRamModeratorEbukam could even play ILB. imo
not a bad idea.
InvaderRamModeratori like the idea of micah kiser at inside linebacker. we’ll see if it actually works out.
i doubt they pick inside linebacker with the first pick.
InvaderRamModeratorJust another way for privileged kids to enhance their privilege, then later blame poor people for not working hard for their privilege the way they did.
seriously though right?
InvaderRamModeratornow that’s a wonderful story.
March 13, 2019 at 9:00 am in reply to: Rams bid emotional farewell to Rodger Saffold as team welcomes Eric Weddle #98926
InvaderRamModeratorGood luck, Roger.
yes. i wish him well. wish he coulda stayed.
i am excited about noteboom, however. he should be fine. but i am worried about center. don’t know if allen is ready or not.
one other thought on weddle. he’ll be good for goff. not only competing against him, but goff can pick his brain on all things coverage related. understand what secondaries are thinking and trying to do to him. maybe even work on weaknesses that weddle sees in his game.
InvaderRamModeratorWeddle: “I reached out to JJ as soon as I signed here.” Adds wanted to let John Johnson know how much he was looking forward to working together. #LARams
he and jj should be something special together.
maybe the final piece to that secondary no offense to joyner.
just gotta solidify that dline. and then add an edge rusher. hoping okoronkwo brings it next year.
shoot i hope tillery or lawrence drop.
InvaderRamModeratorthat could be a heckuvan offense.

InvaderRamModerator97. Maxx Crosby, EDGE, Eastern Michigan
crosby had a good combine. good short shuttle and 3-cone.
arms are 32 7/8″. wish it was an inch longer. but might be worth a look in the third.
InvaderRamModeratorsee now i woulda rather spent the money on barr. he signed for about 5 years at less than 16 per?
i woulda offered him that. then put him at edge rusher, and i think he blossoms.
InvaderRamModeratori like tillery a lot.
his length. his speed. his strength.
i mean. rams would be fortunate to get him at 31.
and still raw. you keep hearing about his motor. when he matches that with skill. when it all clicks. i think he’s got a chance to be special. gotta remember this guy switched from offense to defense when he got to notre dame.
but given that how does he fall to the 31st pick?
InvaderRamModeratoron a more serious note. that video of him punching a woman in the streets does trouble me.
InvaderRamModeratorBut, I don’t care what other people think when I have my own ideas.
how dare you have your own ideas?
now listen.
i just wish i coulda seen him at the combine.
get some measurements. length. speed. explosion. agility.
i was just joking but the way. in case that didn’t come across. you’re perfectly welcome to have your own ideas however ridiculous they may be. ha!
March 11, 2019 at 8:10 pm in reply to: REPORT: DT Ndamukong Suh not expected back with Los Angeles Rams #98810
InvaderRamModeratorI was disappointed in Suh.
i woulda rather kept suh for one more year than fowler.
but it all depends on the draft. maybe they figure they can get a blue chip dl prospect in the first round and then an edge rusher later. then you got a bunch of edge rushers you can rotate and a dlineman you can plug in right away with donald and brockers.
basically i’m guessing they think their chances of getting a top notch dlineman with the first pick is much higher than getting a top notch edge rusher with the same pick.

InvaderRamModeratorBut I want a dynamic, Kevin Greene type guy on the edge.
i’m just not happy with the signing at all.
now i realize that an impact pass rusher woulda cost more than 14 million.
but i just don’t think fowler was worth even 14 million. i don’t know. we’ll see.
InvaderRamModeratorI do kind of lean toward Dline.
yeah i’m pretty much focusing in on dline. whoever that is.
i haven’t read as much on simmons.
i’m nervous about the knee. and i don’t really know anything about his athleticism and length. i just know he’s projected as a first round pick by most.
InvaderRamModeratorI want Tillery. Everyone else wants the fat kid.
honestly. i’d be happy with either one.
i’m beginning to wonder if either of them will even be there.

InvaderRamModeratori still think brockers has value on this team.
i don’t like this fowler signing though. not even at one year. either they didn’t like anyone in free agency or there wasn’t enough interest on the other end. or the numbers were too high for their liking. maybe they see something in fowler, but i wasn’t impressed with what i saw on the field.
InvaderRamModeratorhis short shuttle and 3-cone times were terrible.
i’d let him walk.
InvaderRamModeratorHe’s also a strong locker room leader and can help younger players like John Johnson III and Marcus Peters in the secondary.
yeah, like i said. especially with jj. what kind of an impact can playing with a guy like weddle have on a young promising player?
he was ranked 7th by pff in 2018. i believe he was 8th in 2017. i’m not sure.
now playing alongside a veteran with his wealth of knowledge and experience. could he vault into the top 5? maybe even higher? that’s what has me really excited. still doesn’t turn 24 until this december.
InvaderRamModeratorJohn Johnson III’s 84.3 overall grade last season ranked 6th among safeties
yeah. this is the key. if he can take another step and be an elite safety. and weddle can be just a modest improvement over lamarcus. defensive backfield could be set. i think weddle could be very good for jj to take that next step.
InvaderRamModeratorAm still hoping for Dexter Lawrence in the Draft, or Brian Burns. Neither, however, is likely to be there at 31.
they are at the top of my list as well.
another guy would be tillery. move brockers back to nose tackle and plug tillery in at de.
and there’s plenty of edge rushers. someone will fall.
i also want 2 new edge rushers. ideally one vet fa signing and a rookie. and then you have ebukam and okoronkwo competing as well for playing time.
InvaderRamModeratori would not bring fowler back at any price.
March 9, 2019 at 12:52 pm in reply to: Mike Renner's Post-2019 NFL Scouting Combine Risers | PFF #98675
InvaderRamModeratorjerry tillery. shoot. if he could be a chris jones caliber player, i’ll take that.
InvaderRamModeratorYou want Talib and Weddle for their smarts and leadership, and both can still play. But Weddle has not been making big plays recently.
Last year in 16 games Weddle had 0 INTs and 3 PDs, compared to 2017, when he had 6 and 8 respectively.
yeah. mostly leadership and consistency. if he can be just a modest improvement over the joyner of last season i’ll be happy especially at a lower salary.
pff graded weddle 10th and joyner 28th last season. and obviously this is only one way to measure them. i don’t know why joyner slipped last year. i don’t know if it was mental or physical or chemistry. who knows. but hopefully weddle can just bring that much more consistency. and if jj can make strides at the other safety spot (he was ranked 7th by pff), i’ll take that. i really do think jj has just a bit more potential left to tap. maybe enough to make up for whatever athleticism weddle may have lost to age.
InvaderRamModeratori’d like to see them sign anthony barr and then draft best dlineman available at 31.
drool.
draft another pass rusher in the later rounds. and a defensive back.
InvaderRamModeratori like it. a little worried about his age but was the supposed qb of the number one defense last year?
but had zero interceptions last year…
from a leadership standpoint he should add something.
InvaderRamModeratoryeah. i think burns unfortunately will be long gone.
lawrence has a chance of dropping due to the positive test result.
