i like redick too. basically a catch and shoot guy.
that sounds like the perfect compliment to a lebron davis duo.
InvaderRamModeratori’d go for malcolm brogdon. he does not need the ball to be effective. spot up shooter. shot 0.500/0.400/0.900 last season, so he’s efficient. can play defense and effective at the 1 or 2.
he’s a restricted fa though so the bucks can match any offer.
InvaderRamModeratormaybe karl anthony towns.
InvaderRamModeratorAnthony Davis is great……. in my view the best player in the league….
i don’t know whether he is the best player or not.
i’m not a big follower of the nba. but on espn one writer made a good point that this might be the best pairing of superstars for lebron.
davis is not a guy who needs to dominate the basketball to be effective. he’s a guy who plays great defense and is a superb finisher. so he’ll only enhance the playmaking abilities of lebron in a way no teammate has. and he’s great in the pick and roll. it’ll be interesting to see.
i’m not sure there’s another elite player whose skills mesh as well with lebron.
InvaderRamModeratorGoff’s belief is that consistency in the skill position should help too.
skill position yes.
but he doesn’t have sully to rely on now.
that’s important. i think he steps up though. hopefully, he doesn’t need that crutch like he probably needed two years ago.
InvaderRamModeratorImagine getting to work every day with your best friend – who also happens to be your dad. Zak Kromer and his father Aaron live that blessing out as Rams assistant coaches. On this Father’s Day, enjoy this father and son story from @VinnyBonsignore.
how about that story where aaron and zak went out and beat the crap out of a couple minors?
gotta love those father son moments.

InvaderRamModeratori actually don’t think the trade makes much sense for new orleans.
you get a big haul, but how do you distribute the minutes?
there’s only five positions on the court. they have holiday and presumably williamson. that’s three positions left to be filled by players who might or might not be good. i’ll take the great player every time.
that said the lakers still need shooters. and they need a bench. and it’s questionable that they can pull it off. if it was west in control, you have confidence but not pelinka.

InvaderRamModeratortime will tell.
but i think the pelicans got a bunch of hot garbage for anthony.
number 4 pick was good, but i don’t think those other first rounders will amount to much unless the lakers just completely screw this up… which is still a possibility.
meanwhile davis is one of the five best players in this game. this isn’t the nfl. one big megastar can make a much bigger impact in the nba compared to the nfl.
but again. lakers could potentially still screw this up cuz right now they have three players and… that’s it. they gotta put a team around them still.
i’d go for shooters and perimeter defenders. danny green would be at the top of my list.
InvaderRamModeratorThe line I quote speaks about him working on a weakness from last year. Among other things, I trust him to do that kind of thing–and to throw himself completely into it.
yeah. it’s reading these quotes that get me excited.
and also the mcvay quotes about his mental toughness along with everything he went through at cal.
this season should be very revealing.
InvaderRamModeratori also want to add that last season was goff’s age 24 season. the same age wentz was his rookie year.
InvaderRamModeratorwith gurley being an unknown in terms of how much can be put on his shoulders and the offensive line being in transition, i think the onus is on goff to take command of this team.
not that he wasn’t a leader before, but i think this was always gurley’s team the first two years. but now the transition needs to be made for this to be goff’s team. i gotta say i’m excited to see how this turns out.
InvaderRamModeratorAccording to twitter, he is the Draft and Film analyst for SB Nation’s Battle Red Blog. The “Battle Red Blog” is a Texans site, which doesn’t explain his opinion of Rams v. 9ers.
well personally i take the rams’ backfield over the niners’ backfield every time.

June 10, 2019 at 10:27 pm in reply to: OTAs (including a great final write-up by VB, posted 6/10) #102043InvaderRamModeratorThe face of that familiarity and decisiveness is fourth-year quarterback Jared Goff, who has looked completely in charge with his operation and leadership inside the huddle, at the line of scrimmage and in actual execution. Quite a bit of that has been against zone-coverage looks, which gave him trouble late last season and in particular against the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
i think goff continues his ascent.
he doesn’t have sully to help him out anymore, but he just seems to grow every day. and not only that but he’s got another wily veteran to glean wisdom from in weddle. watching him grow the past three seasons has been a pleasure.
i also think the defense is better than last year. they lose suh and joyner, but i think guys like peters, jj, kiser, fowler, littleton,, joseph day, gaines, rapp etc… more than make up for that. i think the youngsters step up.
June 7, 2019 at 12:19 am in reply to: Eagles sign Carson Wentz to extension, could it affect Goff situation? #101954InvaderRamModeratori doubt the rams feel extra pressure.
that being said it’s gonna take around 30+ million per year to keep jared.
that’s what it looks like to me.
InvaderRamModeratormake or break year for this guy. two seasons under his belt. seemed to be slowly figuring out last season. he’s gotta put it all together this year.
raw coming out of college and plays a difficult position, but this is it. i think he does put it all together and adds that wrinkle to keep the offense one step ahead. him and hopefully henderson.
InvaderRamModeratorVirginia often uses him as a pass-rusher by having him blitz off the edge or rush up the middle, and that is a more natural fit for Kiser as he can use his instincts and downhill quickness to pressure quarterbacks.
wonder if this is something they try to take advantage of.
he did have 19 sacks in college. all coming in his last three years.

InvaderRamModeratorMy official position on all this is, can’t wait.
ha. seriously. should be fun to watch.
and on the other hand. if the guys around him are more effective, maybe that forces offenses to focus on donald less, and he doesn’t see so many double teams…
as you say i can’t wait.
InvaderRamModeratorBenjamin Allbright@AllbrightNFL
Five QBs in NFL history with a TD% of over 5% and and INT% below 2.5% (min 1,000 attempts)1. Aaron Rodgers
2. Tom Brady
3. Drew Brees
4. Russell WilsonWho is the 5th?
The answer, as no one has got it…is Jared Goff.
just to play devil’s advocate. that stat is not as impressive as it looks.
just briefly doing research wentz is not far behind at 4.8 and 1.9.
and watson will surely hit that this season when he gets his 1000 attempts. it’s just a different era of passing football.
i don’t think we’ll truly know what goff is until after year 8.
InvaderRamModeratorI think he is the starter and plays well as the 2-down ILB.
i think so too. i just like this kid’s attitude.
he was the william v campbell trophy award winner in 2017. it doesn’t guarantee success, but there are some big names on there.
and with the veteran leadership surrounding him. i’ll say this. he’s got a better chance than most fifth rounders of making it as a starter.
InvaderRamModeratorAnd he’s not only active and getting up to speed this spring/summer, which means he starts the season fast and in game shape, he also has a new DL coach who is working on correcting issues with his game.
the only thing i see holding him up is the development of the players around him.
if fowler, ebu, and ogbo can develop under henderson, that’ll take production away from aaron. good for the team but bad for donald.
my early guess is he’s even better than last year although it may not necessarily reflect in production.

InvaderRamModeratorcan donald challenge the sack record again with a full off-season with the team.
May 30, 2019 at 11:00 am in reply to: I think this is a big deal: new DL coach (Henderson) & the hands on approach #101783InvaderRamModeratori hope so. the pass rush outside of donald was less than exciting.
i know the secondary is important as well. but i think they’re in good shape.
my worry lies in getting a consistent pass rush. i’m worried about the rush defense as well. but primarily i’m wondering where the pass rush is coming from.
hopefully, he can teach ogbo and ebu a thing or two. they’re our two most promising young guys on the roster. fowler too.
InvaderRamModeratori actually am good with the idea of gurley splitting carries. even with the big contract.
i always looked at the new orleans duo and wished the rams could have something similar.
and i always banged the table for the rams lightening the load for todd. i always felt like mcvay dialed gurley’s number far too often early in the season.
and i like the idea of the rams keeping defenses off balance by switching up the running attack. if goff is a boxer, then gurley is his right fist and hopefully henderson will be his left. or if he’s a southpaw then gurley is his left, and henderson is his right?
or maybe he’s more like an mma fighter…
uhhh… anyway. i think the offense just got better. i thought henderson was just a straight line speed guy at first, but the video and agility numbers disprove that. and it’s not like they drafted him in the first round.
not to mention brown.
InvaderRamModeratorKiser: “I’m just going to go out there and do my best”
Micah Kiser talks improving his role, being comfortable during 2019 season.May 25, 2019 at 2:48 pm in reply to: informal poll – sign Goff to an extension now or next year #101657InvaderRamModeratori have no idea how good goff can become. he’s only just completed his third year. he probably won’t peak until another three years or he could regress.
we’ll just have to see. the only ones who have an idea are goff and the team.
we’ll see. should be fun. i hope he’s the rams’ qb for the next 17 years.
InvaderRamModeratorPro Football Focus@PFF
Roethlisberger averaged 2.38 seconds to attempt a pass…Brees averaged 2.43…
And Brady averaged 2.45 seconds to attempt.
wonder what goff averaged.
InvaderRamModeratorhonestly i’d be happy if gurley got 950 rushing yards and 550 receiving yards.
and then henderson with 750 rushing yards and 350 receiving yards!
ha! that’d be something else.
InvaderRamModeratori really like kiser. good athlete. good mentality.
having a hard time coming up with a reason why he wouldn’t succeed.
probably only a two down linebacker. but that’s probably all the rams need from him.
