well. definitely curious to see how he performs as i’m sure a lot of teams are.

    but 40+ reps and a 4.5 40 at 360 pounds???

i agree with wv. the offensive and defensive lines will be the bread and butter for this team. much like the secondary is for seattle. i think that alone is enough to get them to 8 wins.

how much of an impact can gregg williams make? especially on the secondary.

how much of an improvement can the wide receivers make?

can bradford stay healthy the whole season?

answers to those three questions will determine how much better than 0.500 the rams can get.

well that sounds like a load of bs. not buying it.

i just want to add that the interior of this oline is the best i’ve ever witnessed on a rams team. personally witnessed. i’m sure other “wiser” fans on this board will remember other ones. hehe!

and this is without robinson having played a down of professional football yet. but i am that convinced. this running game is gonna be powerful.

i can see bailey forming that relationship with bradford. like bradford did with clayton and amendola and lloyd before him. bailey’s gonna be the glue that brings this passing game together. i can just see it. as soon as he serves his suspension that is…

    sigh.

it’s true that they hit the lottery with quinn. i hope the same happens with brockers and donald. then we could really have something special here. rams could use some luck right about now.

i’m not sure i understand what all of that means. but with guys like robert quinn, michael brockers, aaron donald, alec ogletree, and tj mcdonald. it seems like this defense has the ability to morph into a lot of different things. curious to see how this all develops this season.

Where they need to improve the most…and it’s not just Bradford…is on 3rd down.

    That’s their big Achilles heel.

I got that from looking at the numbers for the last 2 years. Bottom third of the league.

what were the 3rd down stats last season before and after zac stacy? just curious.

    couple things.

    1. imagine if he played on those gsot teams. the amount of times opposing teams had to pass as opposed to now. where opposing teams have the luxury of running a lot more.

    2. there were times watching faulk that i would tear up. last season. watching quinn literally crawl over to sack brees brought tears to my eyes. just beautiful to watch.

trying not to dissect bradford’s play too much. just taking his career so far as a whole? he compares very favorably to eli manning. in fact. he rates better.

    eli manning (first four years)
    57 games 55 started 54.7% 11,385 yards 77 tds 64 ints 6.3 ypa 73.4 passer rating

    sam bradford
    49 games 49 started 58.6% 11,065 yards 59 tds 38 ints 6.3 ypa 79.3 passer rating

the one area where he pales is… durability.

i think he can be better than eli. i think numbers wise. even without considering all the circumstances under which bradford has had to play. the main thing holding sam back is his ability to stay healthy.

Rams just have not done enough with their passing game yet to do anything

    that. is an odd sentence.

but yeah. the biggest thing for me at this point is injuries. every other year he’s going down. that’s just not going to cut it. although he should be in line for a full season this year if the trend holds. ha!

i think improvement on defense could not only lower the points allowed but also potentially raise the points scored. add in a running game. and i could easily see this team increasing its point differential by 4 points. add improvement in the receivers and i could see an additional increase of 3 points.

nice to see him getting some recognition. now we need brockers to make that jump from alright player to serious difference maker.

i agree that bradford has the ability to be a solid tier 2 qb. my only question being can he stay healthy. these qb evals are so tricky though.

quinn’s play on the field is about as exciting as his interviews aren’t.

when they got the ball to austin on the move, he was devastating. as a receiver. in the backfield. when he was moving and had time to scan the field, he made guys look silly. so maybe they need to get him the ball on the move. getting the ball to him on screens when he’s standing still. he’s not big enough to break tackles. and this league is too quick for him to out quick people from a stand still. but get him the ball while he’s moving. i think he’s shown he’s got great vision to get some big yards.
