Donald is special. Only a few teams have been able to slow him down. Relentless. Strong. Quick. Tenacious. Fierce. Pick an adjective you’d like for a DT, other than tall, and you can pin it to Donald. It’s so much fun watching him blow up an offensive play. He has to be my favorite Ram right now.

i think gurley would have to be my favorite, but only because of the position he plays. i’d say donald is 1b to gurley’s 1a.

i’d been hoping for some more consistency from gurley at this point. to go along with all the explosive plays. unless they can actually accomplish that i don’t know how effective this offense can be.

reminds me a little of the lions when they had barry sanders.

i’ve read that this isn’t the best year to draft a qb.

but there’s still some talent there. do you go with potential in lynch or the pro ready guy in cook?

sadly last year would have been the perfect time to draft mariota.

this regime seems to be good at picking defensive backs, defensive linemen, and running backs.

at the very least it seems the rams have a true superstar on offense. haven’t been able to say that in a long time.

    donald ain’t half bad either.

i missed the whole damn game. damnit. i’m gonna have to watch it later… what a day to miss a rams win.

Ok, then, let’s give Battle some snaps and see if he is ready to play

Well, i think most of us are in agreement with CoachO
that its a mental thing with GRob — but i am skeptical
that its going to improve with time. I’m just not
persuaded that he’s passionate about being a professional,
or that he’s suddenly going to become committed to it.
Ya know. He’s starting to remind me of Kennedy, the DT
    they drafted.

they took a bunch of retreads and injury risks and tried to fashion an oline out of it. and it blew up in their face.

and even the ones that did pan out they let go.

and then they try to fashion an oline out of a bunch of inexperienced players. and again. it blew up in their face. they could have used a little more foresight. that’s just my opinion. year after year i had been wanting them to draft quality linemen. they didn’t. even just one pick like a cordy glenn instead of brian quick would have done wonders.

we all knew it was risky to have so many young guys on the offensive line this year, and it got exacerbated by all the injuries. but putting more emphasis on it would have been wise.

i don’t just attribute all this to bad luck. certainly that is part of it. but not the whole story.

it’s not all on the oline. signing underachievers such as britt and cook. ignoring the oline up until last offseason. hiring cignetti if we are in fact to believe he was the problem and in either case hiring such an inexperienced coordinator with a new qb and an inexperienced oline was in hindsight a huge error.

yes there are things that were under the control of this regime.

they’re getting failing grades right now.

Ok, but he didnt “ignore” the OLine. He signed Jake Long,
Wells, etc. They didnt hold up.

Now maybe he should have known they were big
medical risks, or maybe they were good risks
at the time — people differ on that.

i was actually for the long signing but i had also called for the need to draft more linemen. for example i wished they had drafted cordy glenn. instead they passed over him twice to get quick and jenkins. that’s just one example. of course. i was for the robinson pick too. big fan. so what do i know? i really think this regime let it get to a point where it became a crisis. and i think this is an offense that is more reliant and strong line play than others. they should have been adding more talent year by year and instead tried to draft a bunch in one year.

we’ll see. but the exact opposite could be true as well. we’ve also heard that up until recently he was doing the bare minimum in terms of preparation. he’s got to take that love for the game and transfer it to his off field preparation. so far he’s saying the right things. so we’ll see.

most likely there will be no difference. i hope we don’t see more of gurley. let him rest that knee up some more. this season is lost.

i’m just worried he’s another cook/britt jeff fisher special. loads of talent but just mentally not into it.

i’m surprised cuz i read somewhere he was sec all-american. of course who knows with all the shenanigans that happen at those schools. he very well could have earned none of those grades.

i hope my fears are wrong and his third year is his breakout year.

i hope he can be. i hope he can reach his potential. don’t want to have to replace yet another position.

i still give him until next year, but i’m disappointed so far.

i don’t think receivers are so much the problem as it is an injured and inexperienced oline and the quarterback.

if the rams can’t figure out the qb equation, not sure it’s gonna matter who is there at coordinator. the oline should improve with experience and health.

i wouldn’t fire him just to fire him. it’d largely depend on who was available.

but as far as i can tell i’m not sure there’s a definite upgrade to fisher at this point.

i think fisher’s got a problem drafting knuckleheads. could robinson be the next in a long line of super-athletic knuckleheads drafted by fisher?

hackenberg’s stats are horrible. i don’t care what kind of offense he was in or what kind of coaching he had. but a passing percentage of 53% in college screams project to me.

rams have no need for that. not even sure they would be equipped to even coach him up if that were possible.

i bet he’ll light up the combine. and someone will gamble on him. but i’d say big mistake.

i seem to remember reports saying that robinson was not putting in the necessary preparation it takes to be a professional instead relying on his athleticism. that’s disappointing. so maybe he realizes he can’t get away with it at this level. hopefully it’s just part of the maturation process. he needs to wake up.

Well no the report was that he had STOPPED doing that, ie. that he had stopped believing he was just athletic enough and didn’t need more. The issue was specifically him studying film of his opponents.

That’s not that uncommon. Williams openly came out and said he had similar issues with Joyner, that in 2014 Joyner just believed in his own athleticism and wouldn’t do things the way he was supposed to.

The recent revelation about Robinson came in the wake of GR realizing that he was doing things the wrong way by not studying opponents and so on.

yes. it recently has changed. hopefully now he maintains that and actually learns from it. i mean he should be embarrassed right now.

at this point it seems like the rams are that close to getting goff. i’m torn.

i’m not so sure i’m sold on cook. if they can’t get goff, i’d rather they wait until the second round and get someone like wentz.

i agree with those who say the rams need a qb. so it isn’t necessarily a matter of time but a matter of if they can find a qb. if they can find a qb it could be next year. if they can’t it’ll be never. and they just need a competent qb. they don’t need a great one.

we’re in rooting for losses territory now.

oh man. this is so depressing.

Its worse than you think — we ‘also’ have to
root for the 3-win teams to Win — which means…
    rooting for Dallas.

oh dear. and the 2 teams that have serious qb needs among those three teams are the browns.

    and the niners….
