InvaderRamModeratori’d trade down if i was going to pick a lineman. otherwise i’d want cooper or white or maybe waynes. if they were gone and i couldn’t trade down then yeah i’d have to take a hard look at the offensive line.
InvaderRamModeratorif they can fix that oline. and if mason is the real deal. i feel real optimistic about the rams this season. especially with the niners taking a dip.
i think thomas needs to chillax about the whole bradford trade lie.
InvaderRamModeratori would agree with that. strong running game or a better secondary in order for this defense to reach top 5.
InvaderRamModeratorthey should at least finish in the top 10. if they don’t, i’d say this coaching staff needs to fired.

InvaderRamModeratorwould you rather take that superbowl and see them leave or would you want them to stay and endure more mediocre seasons? just asking everyone.
although for a lot of people i guess it doesn’t matter where they are.
InvaderRamModeratori do expect kendricks to get more involved in the receiving game especially if they can fix that oline. and it sounds like cignetti has some new ideas on how to get more out of him. at least i hope he does.
InvaderRamModeratorPS. About getting a #1 …
You get a #1 … OR …
You get a proven, starting QB.
You don’t get both!
yeah. you and zooey both make excellent points. i guess for now i’ll say yes. but i think ultimately it comes down to how far the rams can go with foles as the starting qb. now obviously that’s not solely on foles. it will depend on the offensive line. the running game. the defense. and the front office. they’ve given themselves cap room and some extra picks to go along with nick. let’s hope they can make it all work.

that is very true. the question for me is should they have gone the safe route or go for broke? try and trade up to get mariota.
certainly getting foles is the safer route. most likely a solid qb that can maybe get the rams to the playoffs. or do i want the qb that could possibly get the team to a superbowl?

InvaderRamModeratorok i take that back. i do believe the rams could have gotten a first round pick for bradford, so i’m going to have to rethink this one.
InvaderRamModeratoryes. i think all this talk about how they could have gotten a first rounder for bradford is just speculation. i know that chip kelly claimed this is what happened, but i have my doubts. i think they got the best deal they could have possibly gotten.
did i want to see bradford go? no. a healthy bradford clearly would be the preference. i don’t think it’s even close. but would i have been willing to gamble another season and that much money to see if bradford can stay healthy? no. and then worse. you end up with nothing in the end. now. they have foles (who has his own injury concerns albeit not as bad) and another second rounder next year. they hedged their bet. i see the logic. and i would have done the same thing. now bradford could stay healthy for another year and help the eagles reach the playoffs. as long as foles has a solid season, i think i can live with that. and even if all that happens, i have doubts that bradford can continue to stay healthy after that.
but the important thing is that foles has a solid year. and they use that second rounder next year wisely.
InvaderRamModeratorLaram dont think Foles is the answer.
=====================================
Laram
My hope is that Foles does extremely well, but I have some serious concerns.… the answer in my mind is if you’re getting rid of Bradford, upgrade.
They got a player that’s healthy, now…but is he better?
I don’t think so.
…
The Rams apparently had options, for their were other team(s) that had interest in Bradford. The Rams chose Nick Foles as the catalyst for the trade.
I think they chose the wrong catalyst.
The Rams need a franchise qb. They still don’t have one.
——————–
LaramWell considering my views of Nick Foles and what he brings to the table, I would have to consider several other options.
Let’s say Cleveland was one of the other teams with interest. They have two 1st rd picks, 12 and 19th.
Could the Rams have traded Bradford to them for their 12th pick, 19th?
Could they have then traded their 10th and 12th or 19th to move up for Winston?
Or how about IF as you say the 2016 qb class is better than 2015, stockpile picks for next year and play the season with your boy Keenum?
Or how about Bradford to Cleveland for Hoyer and one of their 1st rd picks?
How about making some calls around the league being proactive, instead of waiting for somebody to call you.
That’s what most teams do when they actually want to move a player.
I’m spit balling here but with some reasonable options IMO.

well ok. if the rams could have gotten 2 first round picks or even 1 first round pick. then shame on the rams.
i know kelly said he was offered a first rounder for bradford. but if that’s true. then i’d say kelly was dumb for turning that down.
InvaderRamModeratoryeah it sucks. such a good quarterback but so many elements out of his control.
and on top of that he couldn’t stay healthy for more than one season in a row. going all the way back to 2008.
but it was clear he had ability which makes it that much more frustrating.
InvaderRamModeratorthe dline has been very good. but more hype than actual substance. they need to be better what with all the draft capital that’s been spent in that area. just too inconsistent for me so far.
InvaderRamModeratorthis defense at some point has to be more consistent. as much as people talk about how impressive this defense is, they finished in the bottom half of the rankings in total defense.
i want a top 5 defense. anything less i’d say is a failure.
InvaderRamModeratoryeah. i don’t think they keep jenkins or johnson. they still have gaines, but it’d be wise to draft a defensive back or two this year.
InvaderRamModeratoreven the great qbs had dips in performance at the start of their career.
it was probably a combination of things. bad luck, injuries, and defenses had some film on him.
it then comes down to how foles adjusts.
i don’t think he was as good as 2013 suggests, but he isn’t as bad as 2014 either. he’s still young and can get better.
InvaderRamModeratori think they need at least 3 offensive linemen. i’d prefer they at least re-sign joe barksdale and draft one. that leaves one more.
but i also think they got a real shot at one of amari cooper or kevin white. i’m not sure that’s an opportunity i’d want the rams to pass up. if i was snisher, i’d wait to see if i could get either of those two. if not, i’m trading back and picking the best olineman available.
i’d even consider defensive back if the right one was available.
InvaderRamModeratorif i was fisher, i’d still look into bringing in another wide receiver with that first rounder. my preference would be amari cooper if he’s available there.
InvaderRamModeratorI read, that Suh said, that he had more talent than he did.
“I haven’t said this a lot or to many people, more or less, but Nick is more athletically gifted than me, and he has an opportunity to be better than me, and that’s what I want to see out of him,” Suh said Wednesday, according to Ashley Dunkak of CBS Detroit.

InvaderRamModeratori bet chris long was one of the guys who wasn’t happy. he’s pretty good friends with sam.
to jim it probably sucks having to cover a team that most likely won’t be there next season. and then on top of that they make him look a little foolish.
InvaderRamModeratorhaha! i’m way ahead of ya, ag!
InvaderRamModeratorbrett hundley in the second round.
InvaderRamModeratori think the chances of taking mariota are increasing by the day.

InvaderRamModeratorwell. this move will either make chip look like a genius or it will get him fired.

Chip basically said the personnel around Bradford in St. Louis was to blame for his struggles. Hard to argue really.NFL on ESPN @ESPNNFL 19m19 minutes ago
Eagles coach Chip Kelly says he’s already been offered a 1st-round pick this morning for newly acquired QB Sam Bradford.Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora 18m18 minutes ago
If Kelly was offered a 1st for Bradford, my guess is it has Browns written all over it. And if Kelly wanted Mariota he’d have taken it…if it was the browns who offered a first rounder it says a lot about how dumb the browns organization is.
InvaderRamModeratorbradford is only better than foles if he actually plays.
my expectation is that bradford doesn’t even start the season.
InvaderRamModeratormaybe. but they also signed wells and long. so they could also be wrong about this. like i said. i’m not disappointed. but i’m not overly thrilled either. it was a need and it was filled.
InvaderRamModeratori’m not disappointed although i always wonder if the idea of kendricks was always more appealing than the actual production.
we’ll see. maybe the shackles will be taken off this year.
