i do think parker will be good but no way i pick him over gurley.
the more and more i think about it the rams should just wait until the later rounds and pick up another qb. i want dak prescott.
de or wr in the first round.
InvaderRamModeratorBy the way, the web site goes online in an hour to put your name on the waitlist for tix. I am going to be the first person on the list! : )
Isiah 58i think i’m going to try and go to the first game at the coliseum. i just have to.
so i clicked on the website, and they got this video there. starts out with a deacon jones to aaron donald to eric dickerson to todd gurley montage.
January 18, 2016 at 12:02 pm in reply to: LA Times starts Rams coverage + LA press conferences #37614InvaderRamModeratormaybe davis is forced to sell the raiders. and they move in with the niners?
InvaderRamModeratori do wonder if they’ll have statues of rams legends.
ya know. like deacon jones, merlin olsen…
InvaderRamModeratori just looked it up. they’re not that far apart. less than 10 miles. but i did go to a rams chargers preseason game awhile back. traffic was absolutely awful.
InvaderRamModeratoryou’re right. i believe the chargers want a stadium in the gaslamp district which is right where the padres stadium is. lots of bars and restaurants. my guess is spanos feels it will make for a better fan experience and draw more crowds. san diego wants to build where the old stadium is which is more on the outskirts.
InvaderRamModeratori’m not the most qualified, but i can name 570 and 710 off the top of my head.
InvaderRamModeratori don’t care so much.
i just don’t know that it would make much sense for spanos to move there.
it’d make much more sense for the raiders to move there but it doesn’t sound like the league really wants them there.

InvaderRamModeratorand if you remove hollywood and the smog and the traffic and the grime i don’t know where else you could go to get great mexican, soul food, korean, persian, ethiopian, jewish deli, peruvian, japanese, chinese food within a 20 mile radius.
extremely diverse city albeit very segregated too. but i love it.
Portland Maine (where I does reside) is a kind of restaurant mecca. (I don’t know if you;ve heard that but it’s true). We have mexican, korean, ethiopian, jewish deli, japanese, thai, and chinese within a smaller radius.
I don’t think we have persian though. Just indian. No soul food.
I will say this though. They don’t do mexican right up here. They don’t seem to quite get it, OR they turn it into artsy nouveau variants.
One of the things I miss about living in southern cal is real honest mom and pop mexican.
Oh well.
ooh. i forgot salvadoran food as well.
the mom and pop shops here go for miles. it’s great. but yeah. i also understand la is not for everyone.
InvaderRamModeratorI…dont…want..to SHARE,
a stadium.w
vmaybe they could just screw the inglewood plans and play at the coliseum and provide affordable tickets to all rams fans?

InvaderRamModeratorWell, i’m not sure i understand humans.
Why would humans ‘want’ to live in LA ?
The smog? The traffic? The murder rate?
The earth quakes?w
v
“New York is something awful, something monstrous.
I like to walk the streets, lost, but I recognize that New York is the world’s greatest lie. New York is Senegal with machines.”
Federico G LorcaWhat?
No matter where you are in LA, you are within a mile of a drive through burger place, a shopping mall, and a cineplex. And drive time is less than an hour.
well if you’re talking about murder rate, st louis has los angeles beat. probably not true of west virginia.
and if you remove hollywood and the smog and the traffic and the grime i don’t know where else you could go to get great mexican, soul food, korean, persian, ethiopian, jewish deli, peruvian, japanese, chinese food within a 20 mile radius.

InvaderRamModeratorif i had to guess kroenke has been thinking about this since he took the option to buy the rams in 2010.
if i remember correctly, khan put in a bid and kroenke had the right to match or stay minority owner?
it’s at that point that kroenke weighed his options and decided the only way he was going to buy the rams outright was if he could move them to la and increase the value of the franchise. wouldn’t be surprised either if goodell and jones gave him assurances that the road to la would be plenty greased for kroenke’s rams.
InvaderRamModeratorhe’s better off staying in san diego just to keep another team from moving in. he’ll then have the san diego market as well as part of the orange county market. he’d be dumb to move in with stan.
InvaderRamModeratoryeah. i remember reading at the time that the conversation had come up but no concerns were raised at the time.
as far as cost of living. yes it’s way more expensive and it continues to get worse by the year.
InvaderRamModeratorhttp://theramshuddle.com/topic/wagoner-jeff-fisher-well-aware-of-challenges-of-relocation/
“I’ve been through that experience,” Fisher said. “It’s not an easy experience, but you can do things right. And you can make mistakes if you’re not careful. Stan and I have discussed this at length, even at the time he hired me four years ago, because I’ve been through that experience. So we have a pretty good idea of how to handle it.”
yeah. that’s what i thought. so kroenke’s been planning this for at least 4 years.

InvaderRamModeratorno way chargers move for 2016 season. 2017 if it happens at all, but i don’t think he does.

InvaderRamModeratorSure enough, during the middle of the 1962 season, during contract negotiations with the Oakland Raiders, he blurted out, “Aw, hell, I’ll just play for nothing.” So they offered him nothing. And he accepted their offer. He played six games, living in the Long Beach area the entire time, joining the team every week just prior to kickoff, kicking the most inexpensive five field goals in the history of professional football.
wow. that’s pretty funny.
InvaderRamModeratormaybe i’m imagining things but wasn’t fisher asked questions about relocating the oilers during his interview with the rams?
InvaderRamModeratorwell look at what happened with FIFA. not just talking about kroenke but the nfl.
on the surface everything seems to be on the up and up. but who knows.
InvaderRamModeratoris it good enough for hollywood though?
haha!
I wonder if more ram players will get into trouble
now, living out in Los Angeleez. Its interesting to me that Fisher wants a
passing co-ordinator. Does that mean
that he doesn’t think Boras is up to the task
of making the passing game go?
What exactly does it mean?
Is he just trying to give Boras some help?w
vprobably just trying to give boras some help.
as far as getting into trouble. i don’t know that they’ll be getting into more trouble as there will be more distractions. like release parties. commercial and acting opportunities. they’re gonna have to learn to prioritize.
InvaderRamModeratorWell, I appreciate the question but really–shouldn’t we be keeping focused on which celebrities will be appearing at the new stadium insterad of this BORRRRR—-RRING football stuff?
But since the question is posed:
I like the article really.
I want them to keep Johnson. I want them to draft a WR with the first pick. It’s not that I would mind a QB but I think the fastest way to help right now is to bring in a stud receiver. And I’m not sold that any of the young QBs available will be better than Mannion anyway. Maybe bring another young one in the 3rd round.
that’s a good idea. wr first and qb in the later rounds. i do like wentz in the first but i doubt he’ll be available then.
InvaderRamModeratoris it good enough for hollywood though?
haha!
InvaderRamModeratorthis is the crown jewel that the league had been wanting. they weren’t going to let it get away. and like has been mentioned here before by others it’s the leverage they’re going to use when negotiating the new TV deal.
i just wonder if this will somehow come back to bite them in the ass. one can hope.
InvaderRamModeratoryeah. i had a second of doubt because i thought maybe they’d do right by st louis. and they’d do right by the chargers and raiders who had bigger stadium problems than the rams.
but you had the wealthiest owner in kroenke. the most influential owner in jones. and, as you said, the sexier stadium proposal. there really was no contest.
probably what happened is that day of the vote they didn’t look at the carson or st louis plans. because they had already decided it was inglewood. then it was a matter of if the chargers or raiders would be allowed in on the inglewood project.
InvaderRamModeratoryes. i agree with everything that’s been said here.
franke was definitely a must read after every rams game.
January 16, 2016 at 12:13 am in reply to: LA Times starts Rams coverage + LA press conferences #37405InvaderRamModeratorjust sad. i feel so bad for all the st louis rams fans. i have a real bad taste in my mouth for kroenke, demoff, and even fisher right now.
ah well.
That press conference was unwatchable. Kroenke couldn’t even say ‘St. Louis’. He at least could have thanked the fans ‘back there in the Midwest’ for their support over the years.
yeah. i felt enraged watching kroenke and demoff speak.
fisher at least thanked st louisans and expressed some sympathy for what they’re going through.
i just don’t see any remorse.

InvaderRamModeratorWow. Poor Stan, the victim. That’s unbelievable.
yeah. he probably believes that too. he actually choked up during the interview.
InvaderRamModeratorwhy would the owners never even ask to look at the carson and st louis plans? not disagreeing or anything. i find it odd that they would just take goodell’s word on that.
