to be fair to gordon i don’t think he’s trying to say that the rams were intentionally tanking a season or that they had a lousy draft.

i think he’s just saying that they were building for 2016 not 2015.

where i disagree with him is saying that it was in preparation for a move. even if they were staying in st. louis i think fisher would have had the same approach.

ok. maybe they weren’t lied to. i think they were misled at the very least. spanos was shocked by the lack of support he received when it came time to vote.

i also think this rams chargers agreement is a farce too. i don’t believe the nfl wants two teams in la. not at this point and not when they can use it as leverage in the future. the chargers will be back in san diego. the nfl wants the chargers in san diego. ok. now i’m just going off on a tangent.

but i do believe there was a conspiracy.

i don’t buy gordon’s argument that the rams roster building strategy was based around a move to los angeles, but i definitely believe there was a conspiracy to move the rams to los angeles.

goodell knew as far back as when kroenke first bought the hollywood park land and then lied about not knowing kroenke’s intentions for that land. i also believe this knowledge went beyond just kroenke and goodell.

i believe a lot of what happened the past couple years was orchestrated to facilitate the move to los angeles. now does that mean i think it was a slam dunk guarantee? no. but i do believe that st louis, the chargers, and the raiders were lied to. they were handcuffed from the very start.

so three of the past four super bowl winners will have been based primarily around defense and the run game.

Agreed, but with a variation. Seattle and Carolina of course have running qbs.

so you’re saying they should draft dak prescott…

    haha!

seriously though before that was flacco. so it can be done.

interestingly paxton lynch and carson wentz are supposed to have some running ability. so between those two and prescott there are some options there in the draft for running qbs.

i agree, nittany. you can’t bank on mannion being a starter. rivers would be the safe bet. and if all you had to do was spend a first round pick why wouldn’t you do that?

virtually guaranteed pro bowl caliber qb for four years for a mid first round pick? seems like a no brainer.

and yeah he would make his receivers better. plus he didn’t have todd gurley in the backfield taking pressure off him.

two teams that have great defenses. carolina with the second ranked rushing offense in the league. denver’s passing offense ranked only 14th in the league.

so you can win with defense and running.

so three of the past four super bowl winners will have been based primarily around defense and the run game.

    that makes me smile.

i also wanted to add that greg had offseason toe surgery last year. now he’s dealing with a move to los angeles. dude’s gotta manage his time well. important season for him.

my guess is wichmann and brown become at least average starters.

and yeah. absolutely nailed the first two picks.

if mannion were to become the eventual starter they will have essentially laid down the foundation of their offense in one draft.

chances are that isn’t the case but nice to imagine.

on the other hand there were reports he wasn’t taking his job seriously.

On the OTHER other hand, we know about that because he addressed it in public himself. That to me indicates he probably “got the message.”

good point. he comes across as a good kid to me.

maybe just needed a good kick in the ass.

i’m wondering what people’s opinions are on his 2015 season. complete failure or signs of promise?

Signs of promise. Upward trajectory. IMO.

    .

yeah people have to remember he is actually younger than rob havenstein, and he came from a program that probably wasn’t the best for developing young linemen whereas rob came from a pro linemen producing factory. plus he plays the less difficult of the two positions.

on the other hand there were reports he wasn’t taking his job seriously. let’s hope it’s just a matter of maturity.

and yeah they did add a lot of talent on the oline last year. some good draft picks. some solid signings. hopefully it all comes together next year.

yeah if mannion could be groomed to be the eventual starter that would be ideal.

on a side note if mannion ever did pan out that 2015 draft would have to go down as an exceptional draft.

so what is the final verdict on robinson 2015?

i’m wondering what people’s opinions are on his 2015 season. complete failure or signs of promise?

also what are the options if he doesn’t cut it? battle?

i gotta say this is making me slightly nervous. let’s hope kelly has control over all personnel decisions and leaves this team in ruins.

i do hope they stay in san diego. but i also hope they don’t do it at the expense of the city or the fans, but that’s not gonna happen.

    Avatar photoInvaderRam

    yeah.

rams would be dumb to trade up. especially in this draft.

so san diego has one year to find a solution.

i think it gets done. i don’t think the nfl wants 2 teams in la at this point.

i don’t know. i doubt spanos would ever want to help kroenke out in any way ever.

    Well Spanos might be misguided,
    like Ag,
    and he might prefer Wentz.

    w
    v

i think he’d shop him to every other team in the league before he’d consider a trade with the rams.

haha. but yeah. i’d trade a first rounder for rivers.

That sounds like they are talking about Cleveland, not the Rams.

It looks like Favre vs Rogers. Wouldn’t we rather have Wentz?

i fear wentz won’t be available anymore unless the rams trade up.

i’m stating the obvious here but it all hinges on robinson. they seem to be solid at the four other spots. havenstein might be the second coming of runyan. and i think a healthy brown and wichmann could really take off next season. barnes should be solid at center. but yeah. if robinson could reach close to his potential, this line could quickly become a strength on thus team.

they were good, but i think they need to get even better. even with ogletree and quinn.

i want to see them become elite.

i guess what i’m trying to say is that even with the injuries it seemed like they were underperforming. they were good for sure but they could have been better. but i also think they’re extremely young so the potential to get better is definitely there.

Ourlads has Dak Prescott as #1 rated QB….

i like dak prescott. i think he’d fit this offense real well. he’d be mostly a game manager with some running ability. imagine trying to defend him and gurley and austin.

plus he’d be available in the second round.

they want this to be a spectacle. any old stadium on carson wasn’t going to do it.

inglewood has a bad reputation too, but that area. not just inglewood. is undergoing massive gentrification. lots of tech corporations i believe are moving near that area. that place is going to be a spectacle which is what the nfl wanted. it will be very much be a disneyland type atmosphere. carson would not.
