InvaderRamModeratorI think Higbee and Carrier are just better at blocking.
that’s a good point. and mcvay seems to be concentrating on running the ball especially to close out games.
maybe in games where he’s needing more passing or if everett improves his blocking, we’ll see him more.

InvaderRamModeratori think everett’s injured. cuz higbee isn’t that good.

InvaderRamModeratoryeah. edge rusher is a problem. quinn’s close but not quite the same. gotta draft one next year.
InvaderRamModeratorNFL
Riddick: ‘Goff could be a top-five passer’ Louis Riddick praises the growth of Jared Goff and how “the sky is the limit” for the Rams’ starting QB.
InvaderRamModeratorYou know, Ebukam, might eventually be able to be the do everything MLB.
just going back to the ebukam. i wonder what plans phillips has for this guy. explosive athlete. and just looking at him in the few instances he’s got great ability to just run and chase. just don’t know his ability in coverage or his ability to diagnose plays.
at worst he’ll be a situational pass rusher, but now you got me thinking if he could be a versatil explosive linebacker who could play inside or outside. i don’t know. but if anyone can tap into that athletic potential, i think it’d be sonofbum.
the guy’s got a great attitude though. relentless.
InvaderRamModeratorYou know, Ebukam, might eventually be able to be the do everything MLB.
that’s an interesting idea. one thing. can a player learn to be a better tackler? i just wonder if tree can’t become a better tackler. is he just who he is at this point with regards to the tackling? although i gotta say. the run defense has improved a lot the last several games.
InvaderRamModeratorthe other thing i take out of reading that is all the players listed who were drafted by snead.
brockers, joyner, gurley, brown, havenstein, tru, ogletree, kupp… and then of course donald. and shoot. this year’s rookie class looks impressive so far even without a first round pick.
i do not think he’s getting the credit he deserves.
InvaderRamModeratorFor the second week in a row, right guard Jamon Brown did not surrender a single quarterback pressure on, this time on 39 pass blocking snaps and finished Sunday’s game with the highest pass blocking grade on the line with an 86.3. Brown’s 77.5 overall grade for the game is the highest grade earned in the 2017 season and 16th best among guards through Sunday’s games. After leading the league in QB pressures allowed through the first five weeks of the season with 19, Brown has now gone two straight games without allowing a single pressure on 64 pass blocking snaps. Brown is one of only three guards out of 41 eligible to have not allowed a quarterback pressure over the last two weeks and holds a 100.0 pass blocking efficiency.
wow. that’s crazy. he and havenstein sound like keepers on the right side. that’s just crazy.
InvaderRamModeratori think quinn is gone. i think they need to draft an edge rusher next year.
but. they also got longacre who is having a strong season and ebukam who shows flashes and is way explosive.
InvaderRamModeratoryeah the main thing for me is this team can get better. even though they’ve added veteran leadership i read that they’re still the second youngest team in the nfl. and they’re young at some pretty key positions. but especially at quarterback.
all the parts around goff are working at a high level right now. defense, special teams, the running game. he’s got the support system, and if and when it clicks for goff, as hard as it is to believe, this team could actually get even better.

InvaderRamModeratorgiants are without obj. defensive line should be able to get pressure on manning.
on offense. just take care of the ball.
houston and minnesota are gonna be tough though.
InvaderRamModeratorhe’s a good manager of the game. his pocket presence is good. real good.
but he’s got a lot of things to work on. something’s missing right now.
but again. he’s got 14 games starting experience. 7 under the current system. his rookie offseason – the team was relocating to los angeles. his sophomore offseason – they were installing a new system. he already was coming in about as raw a qb can be.
so yeah. i’d consider his rookie season to be unofficially over.
so that’d be.
14 games
57.4%
2808 yards
6.6 ypa
14 tds
11 int
77.5 passer rating.the most important thing is he’s got a good support system around him.
but i expect more and want more from him. hopefully, next season is when it comes together for him although i do expect some strides to be made this season.

Todd Gurley and the @RamsNFL OL snap the Cards 19-game streak without allowing a 100-yard rusher. #LARams have a season-high rushing total.

InvaderRamModeratornot trying to take joy in someone not being able to play, but this means palmer will be out when the rams face them again at phoenix in 6 weeks.
InvaderRamModeratorLB Alec Ogletree, 79.2 overall grade
.
Ogletree had a strong all-around day, as he posted three defensive stops and two QB pressures, one of them the aforementioned hit which knocked Palmer out of the game. He was also excellent in coverage, as he did not give up a reception on five targets and came away with an interception.ogletree will never be great. but he’s disruptive enough. and i think his leadership on this defense can’t be overstated. i think mcvay and phillips saw that. and it’s starting to show on the overall defensive performance of the team. just my amateur opinion.
InvaderRamModeratorwell that would be awesome. that would mean no significant injuries going into a bye week. not that i was dissatisfied with blythe when he was in there.
InvaderRamModeratordonald and brockers looked great. jj led the team in tackles. ogletree was very disruptive i thought – not just rushing the passer but i think he broke up a couple passes. i think the defense is getting accustomed to phillips’ 3-4.
InvaderRamModeratorgurley has looked good. still waiting for him to bust out a long one. he’s gotta be close.
InvaderRamModeratorpassing game needs a lot of work, but i like how goff manages the game. that one int. maybe not the best idea, but gurley got hit out of his break. should have been a penalty. rushing offense, defense, and special teams playing great. goff a work in progress. but i guess that’s to be expected.
InvaderRamModeratorSecondary is Joyner and Johnson. First time together.
i’m excited.

InvaderRamModeratorwell hopefully goff can find him early and often today.
and for many yards as well.
InvaderRamModeratorIts mainly just a tax-thing.
I’m not knocking him, btw. I always liked Chris.
no, i know. but what you say makes sense.
InvaderRamModeratorthey need to re-sign this guy. i mean how often does a team let not only it’s best player but arguably the best player in the entire league go?
InvaderRamModeratorwell. when ya put it that way…
ha.

Mike & Mike this AM
They were playing fill in the blank.
Question was: The best two teams in the NFC are______________?
Philadelphia was the immediate answer. Then there was a long pause. Then one of the Mikes said “I think you have to at least think about the Rams.”
Then without another word about the Rams they talked about Carolina being possibly the next team.
Short, but interesting. Would have liked to hear them discuss pros cons of the Rams as the next best team in the NFC.
eagles at rams. wentz vs goff. hopefully it’s still a relevant game by then. should be exciting. i hope aaron buries carson.

InvaderRamModeratorThe Rams’ special teams contributed 17 Expected Points Added in Sunday’s win over the Jaguars, the highest EPA total for any special teams unit in the last 10 years. The Rams got a kickoff return (by Pharoh Cooper) and a blocked punt (by Cory Littleton) for a touchdown. Greg Zuerlein made a 56-yard field goal, and Johnny Hekker pinned four punts inside the opponents’ 20.
crazy to think that the rams might have the best special teams coordinator in the nfl. likely the best defensive coordinator in the nfl. and an up am coming offense led by one of the brightest young offensive minds in football.
InvaderRamModeratormy brain can’t handle this. top 3???
The Rams are heading into one of the toughest stretches of the year. Seven of their next eight games are against teams that are currently .500 or better, and six of those games are against conference foes and three will be division games.
i like it. beat the good teams. that’s how it should be.
InvaderRamModeratorrams need to re-sign donald.
InvaderRamModeratorSean McVay was walking out of the Rams’ facility at 10 pm on Thursday, six hours after practice ended, and saw Aaron Donald’s car in the lot. He went into the D-line room and caught Donald watching film of how offensive linemen set on pass plays. “When you have the talent that also matches up with the motivation, the appreciation for the process, the preparation and the approach, you get special players like him,” McVay said. “… You just walk away and say, ‘I’m sure glad that guy’s on my team.’”
re-sign the man already.
