    doesn’t have long arms

his arms measure 33 3/4″. that’s pretty long. 34″ would be ideal, but his arms are long enough.

his 40 was only 4.77. but his 10 yd split was 1.65. that’s fast. not elite but fast. quinn’s was 1.64.

and his 3 cone was 6.84. again. fast.

i’m a little underwhelmed. i like the noteboom and okoronkwo picks. that’s about it.

still think they need a tight end.

but i could be very wrong. i don’t watch college football much at all really so what do i know?

I like Sweat and Armstrong. And this guy, 195. Hercules Mata’afa, EDGE, Washington State.

sweat if they want to swing for the fences. that guy has all the potential in the world it seems like.

rams did have armstrong on one of their personal visits i believe… so that would definitely not be surprising. he’s another guy who might have been misused in college. had a huge 2016 season.

i personally like okoronkwo. i think his athleticism is better than people think. 6.84 3 cone drill at his pro day which is phenomenal. rams have visited with him.

If not, they need a guard or ROT anyway.

that’s how i see it. i could see him filling several different roles. backup and apprentice to whitworth this season. but possibly could fill in at a couple spots in the future as a starter.

    Pfffft.

    Okay.

    I don’t know.

Never heard of this guy until a coupla hours ago.

But if he seriously takes over at LOT from Whitworth?

    Okay. Steal. Big, big steal.

I will take him as a 2nd stringer.

    Starter at LOT? Yeah. Steal.

I am not optimistic enough for that, though. But that is me, not Noteboom.

i’ve known about this guy for awhile. i saw his name still on the board but was so focused on edge rushers that i didnt realize he was still available.

never seen him play, but his numbers really stand out. has it all.

i’m hopeful, but i also realize the stats regarding third rounders don’t favor him. still. maybe he can eventually be the rams’ right tackle.

left tackle? if that were to happen. yeah. big time hit.

i think they’ve played this draft well so far. traded back. still got a good oline prospect. and there are some good edge rushers still available.

I thought he faired well In his one on ones against Marcus Davenport at the senior bowl.

yeah. i thought i read that he had a strong senior bowl practice. good stuff.

athletically, he profiles as a left tackle. i’m hopeful. at one point. months ago. i was wondering if the rams could trade back and get him in the second round. now. they got him in the third round after trading back. he must be a project.

    Bets for the 4th round?

i’d like to see them draft a tight end and an edge rusher. best player available with the third pick.

    he’s got length – 34 3/8″ arms
    speed – 4.96 sec 40
    agility – 4.44 sec short shuttle 7.65 sec 3-cone

i like him. he sounds like a project, but he can learn under one of the best.

    second round is now over.

armstrong, carter, sweat, and okoronkwo all still available.

    i like all these guys.

    i don’t like key.

22 picks until rams third rounder.

    i like that list, zn.

dorance armstrong, lorenzo carter, ogbonnia okoronkwo, josh sweat. all still available. maybe the rams trade up if one of them is still available at the top of the third round.

    Chub, Davenport.

i consider chub more of just a defensive end, but yeah. davenport. and edmunds i think could be best as an edge rusher even though many consider him an inside linebacker.

they need to reduce his snaps. i think that his reputation for taking snaps off can at least in part be explained by how heavily he’s been used in the past. he doesn’t have to be the workhorse on this defensive line. reduce the amount that he’s asked to do and just let him rip when he is in.

ideally suh wouldn’t be playing more than 75% of the snaps on the season. suh and donald get around 70-75% of the snaps. brockers gets 65-70%. and the remaining 85-90% of the snaps get split between the backups.

my dog was a hemophiliac. we adopted him from a shelter, but they had no idea he had that problem aside from some bleeding problems when they pulled his baby teeth.

he’d have episodes every now and then, but neither we nor the vet had any idea what was going on. then last year, he became paralyzed from his midsection down. at first they thought it was just a herniated disc, and we opted for surgery. but when they cut him open, that’s when they realized he had a blood disorder. they couldn’t get the bleeding to stop. we gave him some plasma treatments, but he wasn’t getting better.

i had to make the decision to put him to sleep. if he did survive, which wasn’t even guaranteed, his quality of life would have been poor.

in short. it really really sucked.

News. The new cancer is incurable though it can be, with luck, kept minimal with chemo. But his quality of life will decline steadily. There is no time frame–so there’s no concrete way to make a decision TODAY. Mostly, not always but mostly, he’s just a happy normal dog but there are some effects. I have to keep an eye on him to see how he holds up. But sooner or later a decision is coming.

that’s tough. i had to make a decision last year similar to the one you’re faced with. hopefully, you don’t have to make it anytime soon, and bondi still has some quality time left.

“This is not your typical draft,” said one veteran club official Sunday. “The second, third and even fourth rounds are gold.”

Well that’s lucky for the Rams.

    .

    interesting.

i really want to see okoronkwo in horns next year.

this guy has almost everything. he’s got length, explosion, quickness.

only things he lacks is 40 speed and prototypical size. but with his long arms and his short area quickness, i don’t think it matters.

and most of all this guy has produced in college.

But all this means is that I would like to see him signed. I have no idea what the holdup is. It could be the Rams, it could be Donald, it could be both, it could be neither. We just don’t know.

probably silly but i hope that they’re just secretly delaying the signing for purposes of building up hype during the offseason for ticket sales and the new stadium and such. maybe after the draft they announce the donald signing. followed shortly by a cooks signing.

first the trades to aquire peters and talib. followed shortly by signing suh. then the trade for cooks. the draft. and then cap that off with extending the best defensive player on the planet.

    but seriously sign the guy.

$6,892,000(Donald’s wage this year) – $775,000(5th year minimum wage) = $6,117,000 X 5years = $30,585,000. The Rams take Donald’s wage this year and convert it to signing bonus. They can do this for 5 years. He gets ~$31 million dollars this year.

    sign him already dammit!

    pay the man!

i want to see him play his career as a ram.

Part of the Patriots’ success under Belichick in the salary-cap era has been maintaining financial discipline and building a strong middle class on the roster

yeah i mean. it’s not like he doesn’t pay his players. the patriots do spend to the salary cap like everyone else, no?

so it’s more like he spreads it around more equally. i mean. that’s not so bad is it?

they still need an edge rusher. but yeah. it’ll be exciting to see them two play next to each other.

of course i said the same thing about donald and quinn. but quinn could never quite get healthy again.

but seriously. i’ll be pissed if they don’t extend this guy. let’s get this contract done already and then move on to cooks.

if this was major league baseball and there was no hard salary cap, i might tend to agree with that. but they have to work within a real budget. so no. i can’t really say they bought this team.

and if the rams lose aaron donald as a result, i will be pissed. they need to sign donald. i’d like if they could sign at least one of peters or cooks long-term. preferably both. but not at the expense of gurley and goff. although i realize that’ll be hard. but one of either peters or cooks and then donald. with enough cap space to fit gurley and goff? that would be fine.

i just want to see that they have a long-term plan. and right now. i’m losing faith that they’ll be able to extend donald. and that would be a travesty. transcendent player that donald.
