InvaderRamModeratorless than a week away!!!!

InvaderRamModeratorI won’t worry unless it drags into the season.
I think Donald and the Rams both know that Donald can play better than anybody else in the game without being in camp. Therefore…nothing very important comes from Donald being in camp, and every day he is not on the field is a day he doesn’t wreck his $100 million knees.
yeah. rams did fine when pace was holding out all those years.
InvaderRamModeratorCooper Kupp’s adjustment to the ball on film is near elite. He just does an excellent job of tracking, being aware of his surroundings, staying in bounds and bracing to bounce off contact and create more yards after the catch. Very impressive WR.
pretty much know what you’re gonna get from cooks and woods. but cooper kupp. i know he was a little old for a rookie. but still. i anticipate this guy getting better in his sophomore season.
and while cooks and woods cannot begin to compare to bruce and holt. i wonder to myself how kupp will compare to hakim and/or proehl when all is said and done. i think kupp could surpass both of them.
On final play of today’s practice, 1st team offense and defense came out for 1 goal line play. Goff threw it over the middle to Gurley on the edge of the end zone for the score #RamsCamp
well that’s just not fair.
InvaderRamModeratorDowntown Rams@DowntownRams
We talk all day about Wentz vs Goff and how that was a mistake but bottom line even as someone who wanted Wentz. The only mistake that would have been made was not trading up for either one of those two QB’s.i wanted wentz. as it turns out, either way would have been a good choice (or at least it would seem at this point). but i was completely wrong about goff. and in fact i might actually like him a little more than wentz at this point.
smooth. still has more in him too it seems like.
InvaderRamModeratorTo me, it sounds like…. everybody is cool, but I am going to cover my ass. If it doesn’t work it is Donald’s agents fault cause we have to we might have have to pay draft choices.
.
If you don’t sign your best player, it really isn’t sustainable. imo
.
Of course, you really need the real numbers and terms to make a good decision. We can only guess.well. if he doesn’t extend with the rams, i won’t ever harbor any ill will towards donald. it’s his life. it’s his body. who knows what damage he’s sustained already or how many years he’s taken off his life playing a violent sport.
of course i do hope he signs. one of my favorite players already. and i don’t care if he holds out the entire training camp or even a couple weeks to do it. i’ll almost always take the player’s side in situations like this. especially considering the person. aaron is a consummate professional.
August 1, 2018 at 11:14 pm in reply to: Albert Breer on Aaron Donald/Khalil Mack Contracts | The Rich Eisen Show | 8/1 #88849
InvaderRamModeratorEisen askes, why wouldn’t the Rams say go win a superbowl like Von Miller did? (Actually I don’t think Eisen was making a case, he was posing a good question as an interviewer). Breer goes, you could turn around to Les Snead if he says that and say you gave Todd Gurley a market correction.
yeah. at this point you have to give donald an extension. gurley and cooks got theirs. how do you not give the best player in the nfl his extension?
and demoff now saying that they’re far apart?
hmmm…. good vibes are slightly fading.
August 1, 2018 at 6:05 pm in reply to: Rams May have gotten even more than they thought in Peters and Talib #88831
InvaderRamModeratorthis season feels different. it just somehow feels different. lots of good vibes going around.
can’t wait to see this defense play.

InvaderRamModeratorRams need to find or develop a reliable TE.
yeah. doesn’t even need to be a superstar. a chain mover and a reliable red zone target.

InvaderRamModerator….
that was better than smut…
seriously though. could this be a reggie white like free agent addition????
a nine year veteran defensive lineman joining a promising third year quarterback and second year head coach????
the parallels are intriguing. did i just jinx them? does it reverse the jinx if i think it out loud???
i can’t take it. let the season start!
but seriously. reggie white was a nine year defensive lineman joining favre in his third year and mike holmgren in his second year as a head coach. weird.

InvaderRamModerator3. TE Gerald Everett is comfortable. Processing faster. He’ll take a step.
well that would be just so freaking huge. a big target to go with those jitterbug wide receivers?
too good to be true.
InvaderRamModeratorwow. sean fell flat on his face…
embarrassing.
InvaderRamModeratorone thing i’ll never worry about with this team is their ability to draft secondary players. if i’m the rams, i let joyner go. they’ll find someone who can fill that spot. as good as joyner is. the rams just seem to know how to draft defensive backs.
i also think that this team is able to draft defensive line. maybe i’m wrong. that’s the sense i get. and so outside of donald who is a true legit transcendent hall of fame destroyer of worlds i’d rather see them fill those other spots with draft picks.
and i trust wade to find those edge rushers this defense will need. the steelers were always able to do that. don’t spend too much on the edge rushers. draft them in the lower rounds and develop them.
offensive line and wide receivers i’m not so sure about that. they seem to pick a lot of duds there. but they need to get better on that. with all the money going to donald, gurley, cooks, and soon goff, they need to find some guys to develop. maybe noteboom and allen can be at least two of those.
InvaderRamModeratorIt appears to me that Demoff might be back to doing contracts. A lot of the move stuff is over and the uniforms stuff seems to be taken care of. The last two contracts have a different feel to them. imo
well hopefully that means donald’s extension is just over the horizon…
although geez. i dunno. seems like donald would be much more of a priority than uniforms which can’t even be officially changed until 2020…
InvaderRamModeratoras exciting as it is to see donald and suh line up next to each other, i’m equally excited about this secondary. i just hope i’m not building it up too much in my head.
InvaderRamModeratorseems like the defense is ahead of the offense at this point. that’s not unusual at this stage although it’s without the best player in the nfl…
but also. probably won’t really get a sense of how the team is doing until the preseason games. and maybe not even then either.
InvaderRamModeratorPlus, Gurley will be 29 when the deal expires, which will give him another shot at a market-level deal, if he stays healthy and effective.
i’d be surprised if he has anything left in the tank at that point.
July 26, 2018 at 6:58 pm in reply to: time for Rams to just pay Donald? and…possible numbers both sides are asking #88561
InvaderRamModeratorI think they must be in the same ballpark in terms of the deal, and both sides are waiting for other chips to fall.
i think so too.
i’d be surprised if this went into the start of the season.
InvaderRamModeratori think goff is tougher than some give him credit for.
i’m not as sure about his intelligence yet. i think this season will tell us a lot about that department. and if he’s dedicated to being his best.
and hopefully he can move up into that tier 2 category.
July 26, 2018 at 8:05 am in reply to: time for Rams to just pay Donald? and…possible numbers both sides are asking #88531
InvaderRamModeratori think a contract will be signed. maybe he holds out a couple weeks before he signs, but i bet he gets extended.
InvaderRamModeratorI suspect Brockers play to be stellar and well worth watching but you go ahead and snooze lots of Sunday night games this season.
brockers, suh, and donald. oh that should be something else.
hopefully, something very special.
and you gotta figure sonofbum will find a way for all three to be productive.
InvaderRamModeratori’m so happy.
the only thing that worried me more is extending donald.
well. and goff too.
InvaderRamModeratori’m so freaking excited.
less than a week until training camp.
this is what i love most about sports. we have no idea how things are going to turn out. how does the next step in jared’s career go? he improved a lot from the beginning of last season to the end it looks like – not just from stats but just from watching him play. does he regress in 2018? does he achieve even greater heights? his supporting cast is arguably better than last year. but do defenses adjust? have they found some holes in his game that they didn’t detect in 2017? have goff and the coaching staff already identified and corrected some of those holes?
can the offensive line hold up this year?
man i’m nervous.
mostly, i’m just hopeful that i can witness the beginning of what is a long and prosperous career for jared.
InvaderRamModerator
InvaderRamModeratorwha????
please let it be so…
InvaderRamModeratorgood. now they gotta sign donald to an extension.
InvaderRamModeratori’ll be rooting for croatia. one of their players plays for my favorite soccer team.
InvaderRamModerator
InvaderRamModeratorNEVERMIND.
michael thomas… oops.
