InvaderRamModerator
InvaderRamModeratorlove what i’m reading about noteboom. i think the rams really hit on this guy wherever his final position happens to be.
john kelly. lot of people like him but the reality is only so many of these draft picks are going to end up making any kind of impact in the nfl. i don’t think kelly ends up being one of them.
i think the most likely candidates after noteboom are franklin-myers or one of the linebackers. although ogbo would need to get healthy first.
InvaderRamModeratori did not know about that mess. i agree. pass.
InvaderRamModeratorjunior would be a great addition to this team.

InvaderRamModeratorre-set. restore. whatever you want to call it.
donald should get it.
but let it be known…
i never said “qb money”.
ha!
InvaderRamModeratorCool, Invader. You can add more baking powder. You can bump the ratio up to 2 teaspoons of baking powder per 1 cup of flour. I happen to like mine a bit denser.
ok. i was doing one to one. i’ll have to try that.
one day. i want to make my own sourdough starter and try to make some bread. if i ever feel inspired enough.

InvaderRamModeratorMundt On offense, given the lack of tight end separation, makes me wonder if he might stick.
i definitely remember seeing mundt. he stuck out. don’t remember hemingway much.

InvaderRamModeratortegray scales. and micah kiser. not only do i love their names. i love the numbers too. both playmakers in college. tackles and big plays.
but also the intangibles. smart and tough is how it reads on paper.
they don’t have the ideal size and speed numbers. but i’m hoping they can stick.
and i’m feeling a little better about whit’s backup. at least better than before.

InvaderRamModeratori wanna see him get the 24 million a year. he deserves it. if anyone deserves to reset the non-qb market, it’s donald.
InvaderRamModeratorI am not at all comfortable about the Rams back-up QB situation. I’d probably keep Allen over Mannion at this point.
Mannion is so sloooow. And his accuracy is questionable at best. Hodge made him look good on that deep throw that was up for grabs basically, and he’s lucky that the Oakland defender stepped out of bounds on the other one. Even his shorter passes are off. He almost got one receiver killed leading him into a defender. Allen throws a better ball. He’s also more mobile. Mannion has had four years now and he doesn’t look better than this? Time to move on.
Noteboom has great potential but he isn’t there yet. He got away with an obvious hold on the 3rd and 4, and if he had to face better edge rushers there were occassions where the QB would have been killed. But the potential is there. You can see it. I’m very happy with this pick.
Franklin-Myers looks very promising. Again, he still has to get better. He missed reacting to a draw on a few occassions but I like what I see in him.
What happened to Justin Davis? Was he hurt? Why was Holley playing?
My very brightest spots:
Bryce Hager. He had a terrific game. He was really good iun coverage and pursuing the football and seems to have a nose for things.
Hodge. This kid is amazing. What a battler for the ball. He needs to work on his separation a bit but he battles for that football. I’m just not sure there is any room for him on the team.
John Kelly. The Rams just flat out hit on this pick. He should surpass Malcolm Brown on the depth chart. Exciting hard runner.
Micah Kiser. He was in on a lot of plays. He’s still learning but he can really be a nice piece of the linebacker depth.
Another note:
That was a crap call on Mixon. He did everything right IMO. If you call that then it’s hard to play football.
Lastly, it was noted by Lindsey Thiery that Mcvay may not play Goff or Gurley at all this pre-season. On one hand, I get it, I like it. On another, I do worry if they will be ready for opening day or if that may lead to a slow start. I think I’d play them at least a quarter next week. It’s a risk, yes. But if Rodgers and Brady can play, so can Goff. Still, I think McVay knows he doesn’t have a viable back-up and this team has a LOT of money invested in THIS year. He can’t blow that in pre-season.
that was great.
wow. i have nothing that good to contribute.
i agree that mannion looked not very good. i think the rams are in trouble if goff goes down.
and yeah, defense looked good. real good. even without starters. then again. they were going against backups. so…
but what could we expect considering the rams face off against the raiders in week 1?
that’s it. that’s all i got.
InvaderRamModeratori see franklin myers as the eventual replacement for brockers.
i hope kiser sticks too. tegray scales is also intriguing.
InvaderRamModeratorjust a random thought. i’m projecting/hoping about 1800 total yards from scrimmage for todd this year. 1000 rushing and 800 receiving. with about 14 tds. that’ll keep him plenty fresh for what is hopefully an extended run in the postseason as well as long-term for his career.
here’s todd on family feud….
you can get the full episode here. if you actually want to watch it.
InvaderRamModeratorat this point he’s the one player on the rams who’s a legit transcendent player. so he deserves whatever’s coming to him.
i think i like gurley more just cuz i love running backs.
but donald. definitely one of my favorite players all time already. and in my opinion one of the best ever. period. regardless of position.
InvaderRamModeratorI thought Littleton might play some.
i thought so too. at least we’ll see some ebukam.
InvaderRamModeratorwell. assuming most of the established starters rest, i want to see the edge rushers. inside linebackers like kiser. the wide receivers cooper, thomas, and reynolds. the backup rbs, and noteboom and allen on the online.
franklin-myers too.

InvaderRamModeratorit’s here!
InvaderRamModeratordidn’t they have male cheerleaders last year?
InvaderRamModerator
InvaderRamModeratorwhen fisher was fired, my first choice for the head coaching position was kyle shanahan. and i’m not saying i’m disappoined with mcvay. but. i’m pissed the niners hired him.
i can only hope he fails miserably there.
InvaderRamModeratorLBs, inside and outside
yes. outside for me. ebukam especially. but also the others.
InvaderRamModeratorSecond year in system. Second year with receivers. Age 23.
he is 23 and will be 23 when the season starts. he will turn 24 in october. 2018 will be his age 24 season.
it should also be noted that wentz is currently 25. he will turn 26 in december, and this will be his age 26 season.
so goff’s third season in the league will be at the same age as wentz was in his rookie season.
and he came from the air raid system whereas wentz came from a pro style offense. so it just goes to show how raw goff was coming in. how far he has come already. and how much more potential there might be still to tap. hopefully.
InvaderRamModeratorjust love what i’m hearing about goff so far. still only practice but still…
i liked bradford a lot. but i always thought he looked kind of robotic. not fluid. almost like he was thinking too much? i don’t know. but the way he saw the field. the way he would move in a pocket. it wasn’t as fluid as it could have been.
goff just seemed more fluid than bradford did at any point. maybe some of that is mcvay. but goff just looked like a natural out there last year.
and i expect his command of the offense to improve. i expect his pocket presence to improve. i expect him to get bigger and stronger. and his throws are beautiful.
again. maybe he takes a slight step back this year, but i think he eventually gets there. but i think he’s the second best rams qb of the last 20 years already… ok ok… i know that’s not saying much. but hey. it looks impressive when you write it down.
InvaderRamModeratorThe new players. Peters, Cooks, the Chain Snatcher, Suh, the Oline, Mannion.
i’d like to see them for at least one drive. i want to see one good drive on offense with the first unit. and a 3 and out with the first team defense.
InvaderRamModeratoralso. i thought originally it was directed toward children. but i think it’s directed toward more the average basketball fan. so not completely insane. but still a little dark.
InvaderRamModeratorI tried, Invader. I had to stop after about 5 seconds of the weird chanting.
really. you’re not missing much. and to be honest, i only made it through about half of it before i turned it off.
basically. kobe talks about the need to tap into your darker feelings to achieve what you want. feelings like hatred and anger.
just really weird. it’s a little dark i think.
InvaderRamModeratorRookie C Brian Allen holding up. Went against Suh & stood his ground.
this is good news for the future.
InvaderRamModeratorsounds like goff is picking up where he left off.
hope to see him for at least one series next week.
InvaderRamModeratorIf the cap crunch means they lose Joyner, I don’t worry about it, as good as he is and as much as I like him, because this team is just that good at finding DBs.
i wouldn’t re-sign joyner. draft a safety. focus on re-signing peters. depending on what he shows this year. but i gotta feeling peters could be special. and that’s even with the rams’ track record of finding defensive backs.
InvaderRamModeratorNdamukong Suh says he “always marks the calendar” for Sam Bradford: “I’ll definitely try to hit him as hard as I can”
I will argue that this is funny if anyone would care to take up the contrary position.
well. how many times has he actually faced bradford on a football field?
i’d argue he should mark every game he plays for the rams. and show them how much they screwed up by not having him on the team earlier…
ha!

InvaderRamModeratorStrange we play the Raiders in preseason and then they are our first real opponent.
The Giants play the Jets every year in preseason.
Why aren’t we playing the Chargers?i’ve actually wondered that too.
like when the st louis and kansas city had the governer’s cup.
rams and chargers could have the los angeles cup….
or the inglewood cup….
